I love this mascara! I have always trusted S&G products and this is one of my faves. The packaging has the classic pink, black and gold colours of S&G and the bottle lasts a long time. It lengthens my lashes ,doesent flake off and doesent leave clumps. The brush has thick long bristles that give you full coverage on your lashes that you dont need to re-apply during the day. I would definutely buy this again but it is harsh on your piggy bank so you should save up! I dont think I could find a disadvantage on this product.
GO BUY IT!

Too expensive for me normally but I got 2 for Christmas. Love this mascara. Everything I want from a mascara. Great product.

I get tons of volume after a couple of coats of this. Plus it curls my lashes well (without needing a separate curling tool) and they stay that way. The brush is fat but tapers a little towards the end, making it easy for me to add extra definition at my eyes' outer corners by holding it vertically. I could do with it being skinnier because it's hard to avoid getting product on my lids, but it's manageable. I love the creamy texture and rich blackness which doesn't fade. I also love the value, as Boots often has a 3-for-2 offer on in the UK. However, like others have noted, this is not a perfect mascara because it flakes. I have to be dusting away spots of black pretty much as soon as the mascara dries on my lashes. And then I have to check and dust throughout the day - which is too high maintenance for my liking! I'd definitely say this is the better of the two Soap and Glory mascaras I've used (the other being the dreadful Collagen version!) I'd buy it again because it makes my lashes look lovely, but it wouldn't be my first choice.
(NB A comparable mascara, in my opinion, is Eyeko's Fat mascara - similar creamy/wet formula and thick brush, similar glossy pumped up lash effect. However, the drawbacks some might find with the Eyeko are that it takes more elbow grease to remove and is more expensive.)

This is my new favourite mascara. I bought it to replace Benefit's They're Real (which I love, but can't really afford to replace on a regular basis). This stuff makes my lashes look long and lush, and I haven't noticed it flaking off at all throughout the day. I'm in love with this brush because one side of works like a comb which helps separate lashes and prevent clumping. It's also a lot easier to remove than other mascaras I've tried. All around solid product, will definitely buy again.

When first applied this mascara looks absolutely amazing, but shortly after application it starts crumbling and falling out which makes it an absolutely pointless product!

I rarely find a S & G product I don't like, and normally rave on about their make up range, but this mascara has been rather disappointing. I got it as part of the big gift set thing for Christmas, and was really looking forward to using it as I had never bought it before. I've used it everyday since Christmas and no matter what way I apply it, it just doesn't make a difference. I think the main problem is the brush, as its too big and too thick to actually volumize or lengthen my lashes particularly. It leaves my lashes looking a little flat and not lifted in any way at all, as well as looking as though I've hardly got any on even if I've done a few coats. I had to put some other mascara over the top to make my lashes look longer and thicker and volumized, which I think is a bit of a rip off, as you should only need one really good mascara. Maybe it's just a weird batch or whatever, because it came out of a gift set, but this has definitely put me off buying again.

The brush head is the biggest I've ever used! Was so or worried i would poke my eyes but actually it does get into every lash, it's the best black I've ever used blackest black. I dropped a lippy because for the price (£10 in boots) It doesn't do anymore than my £5 2000 calorie mascara I still need 2 coats to see a difference and it wasn't very curling, I did love the fact my lashes looked so black even once dried and it didn't flake all day, I would buy again when they have there make up offers on again to go with the smoulder kohl.

This would have gotten a full 5 lippies if it weren't for the fact that about an hour after I've applied it, it starts to flake a wee bit and lands on my cheeks which I have to remove with a sweep of my makeup brush. Apart from that, this is a really good mascara which goes from natural looking into more voluminous lashes depending in ths number of coats you apply. One of ths best mascaras (except for the flakeyness :@) I've ever used.

I am pretty happy with this mascara. Pros: good intense black, nice texture - not too dry/wet and not clumpy. I don't mind the big brush at all as some reviewers have - I like big brushes, and hate the tiny ones - maybe because I have very big eyes it is easier. The packaging is pretty average I would say - but fine. Cons: I don't really find it lengthens very easily - takes a bit of building and effort, whereas my HG, Stila Major Major Mascara, adds volume and lengthens straight away. Overall, a good mascara - I would probably re-purchase.

Generally good mascara, love the fact it does not dry up quickly (like a lot of mine have in the past) Makes lashes appear longer and bolder, really love this mascara!

This is dry & really hard to work with. If u try hard you can make it look good but it's hard work. It's a nice dark black though, ok for a freebie!

Either I am illusional or I see that my lashes feel also healthier, longer and thicker after using this mascara for over a couple of weeks. This mascara is very handy for everyday use, if you don't have much time to battle with the brush to make your lashes look perfect. It made my lashes look longer and slightly thicker. The only problem is that the packaging is a little bit messy and the brush a little bit out of proportion for the packaging, otherwise it is a very good bargain substitute mascara for example Benefit's BADgal lash, simular brush, formula and effect, for a cheaper price. Would purchase it again!

Just like pretty much every one else who reviewed this, it seems, I got this free in a magasine, but I will happily buy it again when it runs out! It's great, it really makes your lashes look long and thick, and doesn't go clumpy like a lot of mascaras to do. Just looked on the internet and it is fairly expensive (£10 at Boots) but I think it's worth it. By far the best mascara I've had recently, if ever!

This is a funny one, I have tried a zillion mascaras from cheapies to £££! and one of my favourites is Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara but for the price it dries out far too fast and is a false economy so still on the hunt for formulation/brush/value for money. I'd been wanting to try this one and got it free with Elle, its normally £10. When I say funny one I mean the actual product is good but the brush isn't! and I can see how people would give it low reviews as the brush is just too big (and I like a big brush) and it just doesn't get the product on properly, however when I apply it using the brush from my maxfactor max mascara its a fantastic mascara, really buildable, no clumping, great length and volume, no flakes so I've said I'd buy again as long as I use my maxfactor max brush!!! which is a great brush if you like to build length and volume!

To be brief and to the point it is fantastic !! I never really got the hype about Benfit's Bad Gal - it's good but not insanely good and I always found removing it wasn't a rub free job and I HATE rubbing my eye area in fear of wrinkes one day eek !
But this Mascara is gorgeous. I have no clumps, no flaking and best of all it is really easy to remove with a bit of make up remover and water. My eyelashes are so spread out and super long.
Think of the advert for the "They're real" Benefit Mascara, and that is truly what mine look like - no word of a lie ! I am going to add a picture just to prove how good it is ! And for £10, I am going to be repurchasing this for a long time !!

So glad that I got this as a freebie as I would be really unhappy to have paid for this stuff.

It's a thick and gloopy mascara, with a huge unwieldy brush. I end up using a babybud to remove much of it from under my eyes - it's like using a paintbrush to apply your makeup. Horrible horrible.

Got this free with a copy of Elle magazine.

The actual mascara itself, I like. Good, defining, black which actually stays put most of the day.

The wand however, it's awful. Far to big making it unwieldy and difficult to apply precisely.

Such a shame.
