AHHH love this palette!! AMAZING pigmentation - a little goes a long way. I've had it for over a year. Colors are great for a natural look or a smokey eye. Very blendable. Love it.

This was one of the two palettes I purchased as my very first higher quality make up. The reason I chose this palette was two-fold. First I wanted a palette with multiple shades that I could create a smokey eye look with, and second I really wanted some purple as well. The price was a bit more attractive to me than some of the other more expensive palettes that did not give me the colors I wanted. This palette seemed to include a nice set of grey and black as well as the purple I wanted.

GENERAL

The shadows are all quite smooth and velvety and also pigmented. They also translate pretty well from the pan to skin. I also really like the eyeliner that is included, smooth and blends well.

COLOR SPECIFIC

Disco Dust: light, pearly pink, a very shimmery, iridescent color.
Linzy-Jane: slightly pearly, light-medium, but bright purple, . This is my favorite color.
Ace of Spades: dark plum with purple sparkle.
Violator: supposedly a smokey purple, but it looks more like a charcoal color, also has purple sparkle.

Holy Bible: pearly, very light silver, very shimmery like the Disco Dust.

Glock: pearly medium pewter grey

Dorian Gray: dark pewter grey

Lucifer: matte black

PACKAGING

I really like the palette design and the face that it is slim and thin. It also has a mirror though I have never used it.

HOW I USE IT

I have done a smokey eye with Linzy-Jane, Ace of Spades, and Violator with a bit of the Lucifer. I used a shade from a different palette as my lightest shade as I like to use a matte color for that. Similarly, I have also done a smokey eye with the Glock, Dorian Gray, and Lucifer.

I have also done just the Linzy-Jane as a single shade before. It really is quite pretty.

I have used Disco Dust and Holy Bible as well, but not nearly as often. They are just too shimmery for me and how I usually wear my make-up.

CLOSING

I probably will not buy this palette again, but I am glad I bought it. It is great for smokey eyes

This is one of my favorite palettes of all time. I love smoky eyes. I really have to say that KvD's makeup really impresses me. I have the Saint palette and I adore it (I suppose I had to buy the Sinner palette to balance it out- haha!). One of the most common problems I find with dark purples is that they simply look like a dark, shimmery nothing when you put them on. However, this is not the case with the KvD palette- each color goes on exactly like it looks in the package. There are also two looks that can be created really simply- either a purple smoky eye using the first four colors, or a typical black and grey smoky eye with the last 4 colors. The color "Holy Bible" is unique- it's silver but to me it looks like it has a bit of a bluish/greenish undertone but it works really well with the blacks and greys.
I'm also impressed that the colors had little fallout for being so pigmented.

Another great new palette Kat von D came out with recently. The colors in this palette are dark and smoky, perfect to create that smoky eye, your perfect rocker look. The eyeshadows are of great quality again, go on very buttery and the added black eyeliner is a cool bonus. I would repurchase anytime!!
