Bought this on sale at my local Shoppers Drugmart because i just ran out of my usual Garnier BB cream. I never thought of changing from Garnier to Marcelle but oh so freaking happy I did ! Let me just say that this cream changed my makeup game and my face, (noticeable skin tone changes , less breakouts and less shine than my old Garnier bb cream). Will be buying more soon !

This review is for the Marcelle BB Cream Matte Skin Enhancer in Light to Medium. In short: blends easily; quick to apply; needs a primer to stay matte for longer; get a few hours of complete matte wear; no separation on face.

I purchased this product because I wanted an easy to apply, lightweight foundation that looked like my skin but better. My core issue is that I dislike feeling like I have makeup on my skin, an issue that I can't ignore at the end of the day.

This is very easy to apply; I use one pump and blend it into my skin using my fingers. Takes a few seconds to do this step, so that box was ticked. I was leery about 'adaptive pigments' that blend into your skin, but it seemed to work just fine for me. This has very sheer coverage. It evens out the skin, and blurs imperfections but does not cover them.

I do find I need a primer with this. I am using Elf's Mineral Infused Primer currently, but have also used Rimmel Stay Matte primer. The primers do prolong the matte finish of the product. Otherwise, shininess occurs within the hour on me. At the end of the day, I definitely had traded the matte look for something a wee bit more greasy, but I really like how my oily skin doesn't cause this to separate.

I do feel the need to wash my face when I get home from work. It just feels too heavy, which may be in part to the primer I am using as well. I don't feel like this is necessarily a deal breaker, though. The ease in which I can apply this in the morning when I'm in a rush more than makes up for this flaw.

I would repurchase, but I will keep looking for other products that may fit my laundry list a bit better.

I love the way that foundation looks on me (obviously) as it aids almost anyone to have a nice even toned facial skin appearance. Background: I suffer heavily from hyper-pigmentation scarring. I am of East Indian descent, even if I do NOT touch a pimple, it will leave a brown mark afterwards and for 7rl mo, heck even yrs! The sun makes them even more noticeable. I can't wear foundations as my under the surface acne has a field day. I've tried every kind too, from Lancome to Maybelline. So a friend suggested BB cream. I used to wear Clinique's tinted moisturizer, but they stopped making my shade. Anyhow, enter Marcelle BB Cream. This works wonders! I get nice coverage, no cakey look, no itchiness nor irritation, heck I cannot even feel it when it's on. I wear the Medium to Dark. Yes, it's a teeny bit too light for me, but the next shade is too dark. It actually covers my hyperpigmentation scars (that most people think are freckles) and helps w/ my dark under-eye area. I still need a little extra concealer for that area, but I love that it blends in well w/ the Marcelle nonetheless. I don't face make up daily, only at work, so about 9-10 hrs daily. So far no break-outs and I've been using it off and on since summer of 2013. I recommend this for people like me, who cannot use foundations and have acne prone and or combo skin. In Canada, it's a little under $30 (thanx to taxes too), but one tube lasts many months.

This provides light coverage that will last about 6 hours. I only like light coverage so this was right up my alley. I'm really not breakout prone anymore, but I am sensitive to some ingredients. This is so full of silicones it caused a major breakout for me and when an item has too much silicones it just slides around my face after awhile when my natural oils start to mix in. This was a fail. If you are not sensitive to a product loaded with silicones this may work for you. I suggest trying something else. There are plenty of light coverage products that last all day. I dont normally poo poo silicones, they have there place, but sometimes companies go overboard and use too much of it in a product for me.
My favorite thus far is DHC Moist color base with the peachy/pink neutral base with the Q10. That really gives me such a nice glow and so natural. Do NOT get that confused with their velvet base coat/primer, that item is also loaded with silicones and caused my makeup to eventually slide around.

This was an OK bb cream. It has light to medium coverage and only comes in 2 (or 3) shades. It does the job when I just needed something on my face to visit family or run errands. Doesn't control oil at all... my face was so oily after 2 hours! Doesn't cover major redness either.

This is the first BB cream I have ever tried, but I like the nice and even finish. It doesn't provide full coverage which is what I like about it for day to day wear. I have some redness and freckles and it diminishes the redness while still allowing my freckles to peek through(great because it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup). Very natural look. I Have very dry skin so I use a hydrating serum, SPF moisturizer, and the BB cream on top.

Only thing is that it doesn't have any SPF which I find odd for a day cream. I don't mind though, since I use a moisturizer with SPF.

I got a free sample of this and just kinda threw it at the bottom of my makeup bag because I generally don't wear BB cream, but I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I had a horrible hormonal breakout on my chin that was literally making me dread putting on makeup, but I decided to try this under my foundation as a primer and wow! I was so surprised that it covered 80% of my horrible breakout, I didn't even feel like I needed to put foundation or concealer over it! Yet somehow it's still very light, dewy, and smooth! Love love love!

This is my favorite BB cream! I've repurchased it several times now and I find it moisturizes well and the light/medium color works great on my fair skin. I use the dark color when I have a tan and that color also works great. It goes on smoothly and it does cover minor imperfections. With a light dusting of powder over top it last all day. The pump tube packaging is also a bonus.

I actually really like this BB cream because it gives such a nice and even finish. I like the fact that it's a light to medium coverage which is perfect for everyday wear. the only reason I wouldn't repurchase this again is because this suits people with more normal to dry skin (although this doesn't stop me from wearing it). I really wish it had spf with it. For us oily skin gals, good news because they just recently released a matte version of this so I'll most likely purchase that one instead :) p.s. the shade range suck

Now on my third tube of this. I have the golden glow for summer as well - I'm pale, so I mix in a touch of the golden glow to my BB cream. It's hard to blend into my neck on its own without it looking fake.

My skin is sensitive and sometimes dry. This product doesn't irritate or contribute to the dryness. It looks super natural. I rarely get blemishes, so I'm not sure about covering anything really red, but it covers my veins and the slight redness around my nose/nostrils. And it doesn't look cakey or noticeable in those areas (have never been able to find a corrector for around my nose that doesn't look awful). Just perfect looking skin!
