I bought this mascara on a whim after I finished my benefit bad gal lash and was looking for something new. Upon first application I disliked this mascara, it wasnt until later after I spent a weekend really playing with it that I realized what a gem this mascara is. once you learn how to apply it without it being too thick and clumpy, pin up tease will make your lashes so thick, full and, defined so you'll look like you're wearing falsies. the best part is that its only a fraction of the price of the benefit mascara i used to love. Its frequently on sale at Ulta where you can buy one and get one half off, so i always stock up. HG mascara for sure.

At first, I thought this mascara was just kind of "meh"... I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. It's starting to grow on me, though. It doesn't do as much curling and plumping as I was hoping for, but it does make a difference.
What I'm really starting to like is the packaging. Yes, it is really peculiar, I admit. The tube is huge, and the brush is oddly shaped. But it gets the job done. What I really appreciate is how when you pull the wand out, the tube strips off a bunch of unneccessary excess product. I cannot tell you how much product I have wasted with other mascaras, wiping globs of extra stuff off the wand before I apply. And also, trying to get excess globs off of my eyelashes after application.
The product itself is nice. I haven't had any of the hardness issues a couple of other reviewers had, in fact my lashes seemed quite supple. It creates a very pretty, delicate, defined lash effect that I quite like. Once again, if you are going for crazy, dramatic eyelashes, this may not be the product for you. This mascara is for more of a defined natural look.
Final point: I will make this point over and over again with NYX- for any brand to be this inexpensive, high quality, AND cruelty-free, I will always support them! NYX is a rare breed indeed!
EDIT: Unfortunately, I feel the need to add to this review. The last two tubes of this that I've gotten have dried down really fast. Like within a month. Not acceptable. Also, my lashes started to look finer and weaker without mascara after I used this for a few months. I still love NYX products, but this one no longer does it for me. (My new favorite mascara is Lash Knockout by FLOWER Beauty, FYI. They are also a cruelty-free brand that is inexpensive and high quality.)

This mascara is extremely hard to remove--I love curved brush mascaras, and this one is unique because the brush is plastic. But it's so hard to remove, it doesn't really matter how good or bad it is. It's just okay.

I pains me to write a negative review for NYX, as I love their products...but I feel it's my responsibility to let people know that after initially loving this mascara (it really does make your lashes gorgeous!) there are way too many bad points.
1) It's very hard to get off. It's like a fiber mascara. I use coconut oil as a make-up remover (amazing and gentle, by the way) and had to move onto using waterproof make-up remover. Still won't come off.
2) After having it for 2 weeks, it has suddenly started clumping and flaking badly after wearing for a couple of hours. Now, I've been using mascara for 20 years, so I know how to close a tube. This is different. I have floaties of mascara on my contacts and eyes. Um, yuck.
3) My lashes are BREAKING OFF and falling out. This has never happened and is not from rigorous rubbing or anything on my part. Maybe the formula is just very heavy and dries quickly. Maybe the brush is to blame. I just know that I will not be using it tomorrow.
Whatever the case may be, I'm just one humble reviewer and would hate for anyone to have their lashes fall off! At least it only costs around $5 and I spotted the problem before ending up with lashless eyes.

I'm a huge Nyx eyeshadow fanatic, so I decided to try this mascara! I must say I can't relate to the other reviewer's opinions. This mascara was exactly what I was expecting. exceptional quality and a modest price! now this is a thicker mascara and it does dry to feel "hard" but that is how I prefer mine. it does not flake and is very easy to apply. lashes look separated, fuller and longer! love this stuff!

Didn't know what to expect out of this mascara, bought it purely on a whim... and the name sounded cute. :)

I can't say I'm exactly disappointed, but I'm not impressed at all; it's a really run-of-the-mill mascara. It separates the lashes nicely, but the curve of the brush is very very small for anyone's eyes so it's not the most pleasant thing to apply, but if you put a little extra effort into it you can get some pretty little fanned out, separated lashes, but no volume was added to mine at all. I don't recommend this to anyone who has short, sparse lashes. Mine are already a decent length and have a decent natural curve to them so a mascara that holds curve isn't too hard to find for me, but it did add a little extra length which I like. I didn't find it to flake really at all throughout the days I've worn it in the past week - which I also obviously like. Only thing that really made me a little peeved was the size of the tube. I guess I understand as the brush is so curved (and pretty hard to get out too I might add) that it needs the extra space, but come on, man! That thing is humongo!

Overall, I think you get what you pay for. This would be a good mascara for a child/teenager or a general younger audience as it doesn't give a dramatic look at all - very natural, but pretty effect. Plus, it's affordable. I don't expect to find myself purchasing this again as I'm a total mascara freak and almost never buy the same tube - I'm kind of on a mission to try 'em all :) I would say if you're really interested in trying this, go for it - I don't regret it, but I know there are better mascaras out there.

I bought this mascara for my kit and one for myself so I can test it out before I use it on someone. Worst mascara I've ever used. My lashes are caked and hard as rocks. Most uncomfortable for sure. I wasn't buying it to be cheap, I bought it because of all the good things I hear about NYX's products. I do like the jumbo pencils but this is the last NYX purchase I will make. You definitely get what you pay for. I'll stock up on my trusty Urban Decay Lush Lash Mascara. It's by far the best I've ever used....
