It has no effects and the worst part is that it comes of in layers! Not something one can use with makeup

I have finished a bottle of this serum today so it is time to review it and I do not have any other words about it but praises.
It took me about 3-4 months to use up 30 ml bottle. The bottle is made of glass and unfortunately you cannot see through it which results in a nasty surprise when the product suddenly finishes hihi. Pump is very convenient and squirts out the right amount of product - I usually used 1.5 pumps for my face and neck. It is also able to squirt out the last bits of the serum too.
I was applying it also under my eyes and have not had any bad reaction over there but I would advise to be careful since it contains AHA and is fragranced (with some citrusy, fresh and pleasant smell) as well.
After a couple of weeks of use it gave me this lovely even toned skin, with smaller pores and maybe even perhaps some glow tough I suspect it was due to the lightreflective particles in the product. I might have been cheating a bit because I used this serum in the night (under a richer moisturiser as it is not moisturising enough for me on its own) and a Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel as my day serum - together they work beauifully and I have had the best skin in months!
The only minus I was able to find was that my sunscreen (LRP Anthelios and Avene Emulsion both spf 50) was sometimes rolling when put on top of this serum when I used it during the day once or twice but usually a tiny bit of moisturiser applied before the sunscreen would help.
All in all it is a very effective drugstore product for someone in their mid 30s and it is already on my Spring shopping beauty list, which I cannot say about much more expensive product that I am currently using...

I am soooooo happy with this product, I have a dry sensitive skin that can be easily aggravated by most of the creams and brands. i use it once when i go to bed . it moisturizes my skin so much and it gives me a dewy look and health glow when i wake up at the morning. i do not need much of the serum and a little goes a long way. its almost a month now and my first bottle did not finish yet. the only downside to this product is that it is so expensive( 25 pounds).

This product has definitely worked for me!
I have been battling acne scars for awhile now since I've come by a horrible skin care regime that made me severely break out *cough* Dermalogica! *cough*.
But ever since I've tried this serum, my scars have gone from being super dark and obvious-through-thick-foundation, to light marks that can be completely covered by a light wash of powder!
Check my full review on:

But seriously, if you having trouble with scarring or pigmentation, definitely try this out.

Please spot test this product before use! I used it once and had a terrible reaction, my skin now feels almost sunburnt and I have little bumps across my nose and cheeks. Definitely won't be using again!

I am almost two weeks into using this product.
Initial reaction:
Product feel: Very light, pearlescent, silicon-y-feel to it. Seems slightly heavier than a standard serum but still lovely to use.
How my skin feels: I have sensitive skin so was wary at first but after a couple of days of relatively minor breakouts as my skin adjusted I am now happy with this product. My skin feels quite velvety-soft, now, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it really does help to mask some blotchiness immediately after application.
Amount used: I have read that some people only use one pump worth per application but I need one pump per 'face section' but I have slightly drier skin.
Luminosity/blemish zapping: It gives my skin a slightly 'dewy' look, which is nice. I have yet to see how effective it is on banishing blemishes and darker spots so will post an update on this later.
Scent: Fresh and not at all overwhelming.
Packaging: Attractive and i love the glass bottle - very stylish and a pleasure to use. The pump is easy to operate and has a shut-off for traveling.
I'll keep using it as it's quite luxurious and generally a pleasure to use. :)

I got this in Asda on offer at £15. I'm always looking into products to look after my skin and thought this would be great as my skin s looking a but dull, regardless of my exfoliating and moisturising regime! I use this of a night, and ive only used it twice but I have to say I like it. I like the smoothness, and the slight luminosity it gives me the next morning!
I can't comment on whether this breaks me out or not yet, so will update this in a month or so!

I really like this product. I'm in my 40's and have uneven skin pigment from sunbathing in my youth. It has been a week and so far my skin seems more even in tone. I'm sure it will take much longer for the older spots to leave. The scent is a bit strong for me,but easy to overcome. I'd buy it again.

I generally don't use L'Oreal products but just tried a sample and felt compelled to post my experience, albeit a brief one. Got a sample, tried it out, 10 minutes later my skin felt like it was beginning to molt and it was stinging. Ran upstairs to rewash my face and this crap was just sitting on my skin like a slimy, shiny, toxic film. I think this is quite possibly the worst product I have ever tried. And just further confirmation that my skin hates all things L'Oreal. Too bad because it had a pleasant scent.

I got this product as a sample in my cosmopolitan magazine and I was eager to try it as I have a dry combination skin and felt like I have lost some lustre in my skin.
I tried it for 2 days. the first day it was ok not bad and not good, I did not see any immidiate result as it claims to do. I also did not see any bad going on with my skin. The second try I noticed horrible breakouts. It is like patches on my skin with many many little dots and whiteheads, like I have had a bad allergic reaction.
I gave it a price rating of 5 beacuse for what it did to me it was expensive!!
That is enough said, this product is horrible and I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it!
I hate it and I really hope I wont get scars on my face from the breakouts I got from it.
Please do not even try this product if you are prone to breakouts and if you are not prone to breakouts it is risk for you as well.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones when it comes to this serum. It's done nothing but wonders for me. I'm oily and sensitive but haven't had a single negative reaction. In the past month I've been using this, am and pm, I've seen major changes. Overall even tone, dramatic reduction of post acne scarring. My skin looks and feels softer and I'm wearing far less makeup. After some major hormonal issues left me so broken out I found myself literally in tears when I would look in the mirror, I searched and searched reviews for a cure. While in Target I found this and, without reading the reviews here thankfully, bought it. I'm hooked. Nothing, high-end to drugstore, has ever made such a difference.

I took this "serum" like product for free by a l'oreal representative. This prodocts at first gives the impression of something good, but after applying it 2 times you realize that it is a watery cream full of silicone and lightning factors that make my skin greasy. That is the new policy of l'oreal.. every range of creams has each cheap serum.

I don't have any skin reactions to this product as the other reviewers, so I'm fortunate that way. This product contains bismuth, so you probably shouldn't be using this if you get bad reactions to bismuth. I actually really like the product. It feels like it is really nutritious for my skin and it really smoothens my skin. I use this with the philosophy vitamin c powder to help lessen the hyperpigmentation around my eyes. To me it feels like this helps to lighten the area. But I haven't been using this product long enough to see real results. I will update this review in a few months.

This serum is ok to use as a primer under a light foundaton as it gives a pearly sheen to the skin but after useing this for 3 days i broke out like crazy which is very unusual for me,i also thought that the packaging looked very cheap and is very poorley desgned as mine keeps un twistng tself from the bottle so the product ends up all over the inside of my make up bag,the only other thing good about this product is that the smell isnt bad.

I managed to pick up a bottle at Boots on offer for £14.99 its normal price is £24.99.With all the hype on tv ect I was really looking forward to trying it!What a HUGE disappointment:(
I used the product as directed with little difference to my skin apart from sore itchy red eczema patches and small whiteheads after less than a week of using it.
My skin is just about recovering...Maybe not such a good product if your skin is sensitive in any way.

THE PURCHASE: I recently got my hands on a bottle of Loreal Youth Code Luminize Serum on special offer at boots for £14.99 instead of the RRP of £24.99 which I thought was great as I have been wanting to try something like this for ages every since I saw the advertisements for Lancome Genifique but for £55 a bottle I just couldn't justify the purchase. But seeing this product which claimed to offer the same benefits at a fraction of the cost I couldn't resist. The main reasons I wanted this was for the promise of how it evens the complexion whilst still keeping the skill looking soft and luminized. Which tackles my two main skin concers which are dryness and uneven skin tone.
HOW I USED IT:
I started to use this product every night after cleansing then allowed it to absorb for a few minutes before applying my night cream.
MY INITIAL THOUGHTS:
The product claims to offer an instant luminized look but I didn't notice that at all. The product itself is a pearly white cream with a very runny constistancy and from what I can tell it doesn't leave any shimmer on the skin but nor did it luminize my complexion in any way.
THE OVERALL RESULT:
Well I wish I could tell you I loved this product but unfortunately it caused my skin to have an awful reaction that I can only describe as looking like sun burn. After using it for a few days I noticed my skin was looking dry and flakey and by morning it was feeling tight and sore. Then one morning I woke up with peeling red sore skin on my face that I can only assume was down to this product as nothing else in my skin care regime has changed. I had bumpy sore skin that stang when I put on my face cream and a nasty sore rash on the top of my cheeks and nose that lasted for 3 days and was peeling and flaking off to the point that I had to use medicated face cream for eczema and didn't dare put on any make up.
OVERALL OPINION:
This product definately didn't work for me and I would obviously not purchase it again after having such an adverse rection to it. I don't feel that it offered any luminized look and I wasn't able to use it long enough to comment on whether or not it would lighten skin discolorations. If I could give it a big thumbs down and a rating of 0 I definately would!

This is the latest, brand new serum from L'Oreal, and its being advertised all over magazines, the internet and TV at the moment. I was curious to try it, and so I jumped in a purchased this from Superdrug. I looked for this in Boots but they dont seem to be selling it yet for some reason!?
£24.99 for 50ml but its on offer now in Superdrug for £14.99.
This is what L'Oreal have to say about this product:
"Not radiating your usual fresh, youthful glow? What if you had the 'code' to unify irregular skin tone and re-awaken a more even luminous looking complexion? Irregular pigmentation beneath the skin's surface can reduce skin's luminosity.
Youth Code Luminize Super Serum Perfects and Refines skin's surface for a more luminous, even looking skin tone."
I use this, as directed in the mornings, before my moisturiser. It states to use "2-3 drops" in circular motions on your face and neck, but the dispenser is actually a pump and so it is almost impossible to get "2 or 3 drops" out. Had the packaging been a dropper then I can understand the directions being like this....umm no comment, anyway..
The packaging says that you can use this alone or before moisturiser but I would advise definitely using a moisturiser, because, for one its not that moisturising (it is a serum, don't forget) and two, it doesn't contain any SPF in it, and as we all know we should all use SPF all year round, no matter where we live in the world!
The serum itself is light, and it sinks in fast, I need 2 pumps for my face (again maybe the directions should read "pumps" instead of "drops"?
The consistency and appearance is pearlescent but not glittery or shimmery once its applied to the skin.
It gives a nice radiance to the face without being over the top. I apply my daily moisturiser on top. I have to say that within minutes of applying these two, the "radiance" I first saw disappears and my face looks pretty much normal (as if I didn't apply it).
The packaging is nice and sleek, with a pump, in a glass bottle. Not see through, makes it a big hard to know how much is left. I guess they may have done this on purpose to help prevent the product from going off too quickly (some products break down and decompose if kept in the sunlight).
It is said to even out skintone and give a radiant complexion. It contains glycolic acid (AHA) which is probably what makes it even out skin tone.
Initially I liked this, although I was not "wowed". I wanted to see what happened after 7 days and then 1 month, but this is the bad news: This stuff makes me break out into small (but gross) white heads and after 6 days I stopped using it. I wasn't sure if it was the serum but after not using it for 2 days in the middle of these 6 days of use, I can confirm that the serum is the culprit! It definately caused my hideous white heads, after I had clear skin for a quite a while....sigh....
