Simple pitch their skin care line as being "kind" to skin and free from harsh chemicals. Yet although for the main part their products are commendably fragrance free (making them more suitable for sensitive skins) they do in fact use ingredients which are not kind.

In fact the name of the brand signifies the blandness of the products. And this facial wash is no exception.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash is a clear gel which lathers up well and rinses away cleanly but it leaves skin feeling taught. This is almost certainly due to the foaming agent ingredient. The overall impression is that this is not "kind" to skin at all.

On the plus side, Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash is inexpensive compared to other cleansers and if ever there was an example that you get what you pay for then this is it.

Good points? Moderately priced (and you can get it from discount stores). Fragrance free.

Bad points? Drying.

I wouldn't suggest using this on a daily basis as your regular cleanser. If you decide to shop the Simple line then I would recommend trying their cleansing water instead which is unlikely to cause any problems. If you use Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash on a daily basis you run the risk of drying out your skin.

I have had only positive experiences with this facial wash! It cleans my skin thoroughly without drying it out and has not caused any irritation, redness or breakouts. It did help to restore my skin after only 2 uses, after I had just done 30 hours of air travel which is a good achievement for any product! A little goes a long way, and it lathers up nicely. It doesn't make the skin feel dry or tight which is a bonus, as I find some cleansers make my already dry skin feel overly dry. It also does not cause any irritation on my sensitive skin. The cleanser is easily available in a drugstore or supermarket and is also very affordable! I would highly recommend this product! :)

I have used this cleanser for over a year and although I have tried much more expensive ones, this remains my favourite! So so so adorable and brilliant value for money. This has a very creamy consistency and feels very general on the skin, yet removes all my makeup, gel eyeliner and all! Has little to no scent which I personally like. I have repurchased this many times and will continue to do so!

This is currently my favourite face wash. I have very sensitive, dry and acne prone skin and this face wash is brilliant. It doesn't dry my face out at all and is very moisturising. It doesn't irritate my acne when it flares up, and what surprises me the most is that foams up really well for a soap free wash.

I bought this from a local supermarket. I liked how the company brand emphasises on 'Simple'. I thought to myself, why not go for something simple and surely it wont harm my skin as its meant for sensitive skin. I used it for a few days and loved the way it felt, it tingles a bit in a good way when massaging into my face and after washing it off, feels moisturising. I thought to myself, wow maybe this will make my skin better. About 4~5 days of using it, I started to slowly break out on my forehead and side jaw line in small bumps.... the redness is evident on my forehead however I dont think its pimples... just bumps, maybe my skin has been irritated. I continued to try it till I have reached 1 week of usage till I decided, not to ruin my skin cos it seems to be getting worse. Annoyed at Simple face wash, the next day, I went to buy my HG face wash that has always been there for me and never breaks me out. The next day of using my HG face wash, my skin looked better... small bumps on jawline is smooth and gone. My forehead still has some small bumps but its certainly clearing up. So dont buy Simple unless you want to have bumps on your face. My skin is combi and it is normal skin type, not sensitive at all. I cant imagine those who has sensitive skin using this face wash. What a waste of $ cos I cant give it away but lesson learnt.

Edit: Changed rating to a 1/5 because I've read earlier similar posts.
I'll copy and paste what user abcasey143 wrote

"If you have acne-prone or sensitive skin, DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT use these products. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), which is the second ingredient on the ingredients list next to water, is HIGHLY comedogenic (meaning it clogs pores)."

Hence, this is the reason why I broke out in small bumps on my forehead and jawline due to clogged pores. Argh.

I was really excited to try this brand. I have very sensitive skin and this product looked like it would suit me perfectly. The packaging isn't the greatest, if you leave it open even for a few seconds the product will start to pour out. It does feel nice massaging it on but if I don't moisturize directly after it my skin will feel dry. Even though the product is natural it unfortunately still broke my skin out.

I bought the cleanser for my tween daughter - she loves it - so I thought I'd give it a try to see why she liked it so much. I think this is an extremely soft feeling gentle cleanser which is what I hoped it would be for her young skin. I'm trying to get her into a routine now in hopes of warding off any potential acne issues like I had to deal with. Back then we used bar soap on our faces and toothpaste as spot treatment for zits. Talk about drying! So far she's liking the soft clean feeling and I'm not seeing any negative effects from the products yet.

I purchased this in hope to get a cheaper alternative to my HG Dermalogica Cleansing Solution. It cleans my skin and does not break me out. For that, I'll probably repurchase again.

It didn't hurt my skin but it didn't do nothing to either so. not much to say on it except it really is simple.

This is an OK face wash. It's pretty middle of the road. Not the best, not the worst. What's a bummer about it is that it claims to be moisturizing and it is definitely not. I was expecting something more along the lines of the cerave moisturizing face wash.... this is nothing like that. It's more like a regular foaming formula. So if you're looking for a normal, slightly drying face wash, this one's just fine.. especially for the price. But if you need something really gentle and actually moisturizing, I would not recommend this one. On the plus, I do have pretty sensitive skin, and this doesn't make my skin burn or anything. It's just more drying than I like for daily use.
