This is my first Guerlain lipstick, and I'm quite disappointed. I guess it's my fault for not trying on the colour in the store, but it's not what I expected. On my NW20 skin, on the back of my hand, it seemed like a pinky nude. However, on my lips it's just too brown, with no pink. It looks too 90's. It does go on comfortable, but slightly accentuates lines and dries out my lipst after a while. Other than the colour, I'm disappointed in the packaging too - it feels plasticky and cheap, despite the luxe price tag. The experience isn't making me want to pick up any more of these - I would stick to Dior at this price range.

Apres L'Ondee was the 5th Rouge Automatique for me. It is perfect nude for my fair skin because it has some neutral color but it doesn't wash me out. Most reviews I read call it pink. I beg to differ. On my very pigmented lips, it is a nice bronzy coral with just the perfect amount of color for my casual days. This lipstick is amazing when topped with a pale gold or bronze gloss. I am just amazed I finally found a great nude lipstick that doesn't make me look sick!

In addition to the Guerlain Rouge G 008 Gisele, this would be my other HG lipstick. For almost $15 less, this is a similar lipstick in terms of quality - I would say the main differences are that it doesn't last quite as long, and doesn't wear as evenly. But they are very similar. It's an HG lipstick mainly because the color is fabulous for me (NC20) - a bit on the berry/pink side, but in a nice way (I'm early 30s, so I can't do bubblegum shades!). It's very pretty, nice for spring, but I've been wearing it this winter. It's not super dark, so it's good for work, or casual weekend activities. I think the case is somewhat ingenious, although it's a lot of case for the little stick of product! But I guess the Rouge G is even more case! I do like the attached mirror with the Rouge G formulas - I've really gotten to enjoy that features. My main complaint with the case with the Rouge Automatique is that it's still an expensive lipstick ($35!!!) so I wish the case didn't feel sort of plastic-y. But it's definitely something I would go for again.
