The drugstore has been been really stepping up its game recently as far as cosmetics go and this Rimmel foundation is no different. This foundation is incredible. I really wanted to try it after hearing Tanya Burr talk about it on youtube and when it finally came to Canada I had to try it. I bought this at Shoppers Drug Mart for $12.99 regular price which is on the cheaper end of drugstore foundations in Canada. I find Rimmel products seem to go on sale a lot so if you want to try this and save a few dollars you can probably get it even cheaper than it is. I am going to start off and say that this is absolutely not a foundation for oily skin. If you have oily skin I am sure you will dislike it but it is out of this world for dry skin, truly- which I happen to have.
This foundation comes in a really nice, sleek, glass bottle with a pump and a cap! WOOHOO! I've never been too bothered when a foundation doesn't come with a pump but you definitely feel more luxurious like you got more bang for your buck when your foundation comes in a pump glass bottle. The cap is bright orange and so is the type on the bottle which definitely seems very much like the name 'Wake Me Up'. I don't know why but it really bothers me that all the lids/caps to Rimmel products are on a slant- like I said, don't know why but it drives me nuts. I would say that this foundation is definitely a medium coverage. I apply this on my face with my Urban Decay Optical Blurring brush and it will cover my milder acne spots and any redness or unevenness in my skin but I do need concealer for any larger blemishes. The foundation is scented and reminds me of hand soap which might not be the best for those with sensitive skin. I love how flawless this foundation looks right from the get go. My skin looks glowy and healthy as opposed to dull and dehydrated which is how it looks without any makeup on- this really just adds a nice boost of moisture to my skin and makes it look well...woken up! A lot of people are going to dislike this about the foundation and that is that the foundation does have a bit of shimmer/glitter in it. I typically don't like glittery products but because it is so finely milled and not very noticeable I find that I don't mind it well at all. This reason along with the hydrating properties and glowy finish is why I absolutely do not think people with oily skin will enjoy it. The shade that I got in this foundation is the lightest one, shade 100 Ivory and on my skin it does last all day though I will need to blot about halfway through so I don't begin to look too shiny or greasy. I have really pale skin and this seems to be a decent match now that my skin is tanned but if it wasn't tanned the foundation would be far too dark which is definitely one of the cons. The shade selection for Rimmel foundations are just horrible, I believe this foundation only comes in 6 shades with range from light to medium tones so if you have fair, medium-dark or dark skin tones then this foundation will not have a shade for you which is super unfortunate.
As a dry skinned girl, I personally adore this foundation and have worn it about every single day for the last month. I love the finish, I love how hydrating it is, I love the coverage, the fantastic wear time...I just really love everything about it. I think normal and potentially combination skin types could enjoy this as well but I would definitely first and foremost recommend this for those with dry skin. I'm glad that drugstore brands such as Rimmel are finally realizing that there is a fairly large market for hydrating foundations....now its just time for them to work on shade. Love this, would highly recommend!

I love this foundation, it's the only foundation that I've found that I don't need to set with a powder. I love the slightly dewy finish on my skin and the color range is surprisingly well done. definite recommendation.

I never thought I would like anything from rimmel until I found this foundation. I was watching Tanya burr on YouTube and she raved about this product... And here I am raving about it too. As a reference I'm an NC30 and my match was soft beige. It's a perfect match!!! I seriously didnt have to buy 2 bottles to mix to get my perfect shade. What I love about this product is it really hydrates my dry skin. This foundation makes my skin look dewy and fresh. I don't have to use my caudalie rescue creme when I wear this foundation. What I also love about this product is how easy it is for me to apply with my brush and the pump! Omg! I hate foundations without pumps because I find it so unsanitary when I have to open, and expose the product to air constantly.
Anywho I love this product and I'm glad I bought it :)

From reading the comment below or a few down I will also not be purchasing this or rimmel again due to its animal testing policy, rimmel have always been a brand that i thought would never do such things, i am truly disappointed.

This foundation glides on nicely and leaves a beautiful luminous finish, it does transfer mind you and don't even consider this foundation if you have oily skin, itll be like a oil bath at the end of the day, i found this foundation quite hard to powder too as it looked quite odd powdered. This broke me out a tiny bit and even the lightest colour is a bit orangey. The packaging was awful, when id pull the lid off it would take the pump with it on several occasions getting foundation all over me, my clothes and my surfaces and then when you put the lid back on foundation splodges all over the bottle then going all over your hands and everywhere.

Firstly I must state that if Rimmel didn't sell their products to China and had to allow animal testing, then I'd probably give this foundation 4 out of 5 overall. I bought this after I had extensively researched which companies test on animals, and have only just used it up. Unfortunately I won't be purchasing again as Rimmel aren't completely cruelty-free, and I strongly feel that my face is no way near as important as the welfare/life of an innocent animal.

The foundation itself is near to perfection for me. I feel that the colour range would benefit massively from having an extra paler colour, as the lightest shade is ever so slightly too orange for me (and my skin isn't the palest out there), which meant that I had to blend it right down to my neck, using a lot of the product up. I applied it with my fingers and it blended seamlessly and smoothly, not clinging to any dry patches, and gave a good medium natural-looking coverage.
The glitter element to it is ever so subtle which I loved - it really did wake up my face!
The price of the foundation is amazing value for money. For me, it performs as a higher-end foundation does in terms of the finish (satin, semi-matte), packaging and application. The lack of colour range shows in the price, but I would pay higher-end prices for this product if there was a slightly paler shade and the company was cruelty-free.

Please stop selling your products to China, Rimmel :(

Age: 19-24   Skin: Acne-prone, Fair, Neutral   Hair: Brown, Curly, Fine   Eyes: Green

My skin: combination, acne prone
Finish: luminous, but not over-glittery
Scent: light scent, which I like, but I prefer foundation without fragrance
Staying power: 8 hours and even more
Coverage: light-medium to medium
Formula: creamy, but not oily
Best way to apply: wet sponge

Pros:
- price (I have more expensive foundations which were much worse than this one),
- doesn't give me breakouts,
- stays all day long,
- luminous finish,
- easy to apply,
- buildable coverage,
- doesn't look cakey or patchy,
- very comfortable on drier parts of my face.

Cons:
- gets a little bit shiny in the T-zone, so it's definitely not for oily skin,
- has a scent, which may cause irritation,
- contains Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, so it's not oil free, but I am acne prone and have no problem with this,
- contains dangerous BHT (preservative),
- contains some comedogenic ingredients (Talc, Dimethicone, Hexylene Glycol, Tocopherol and Benzoic Acid), but again, it doesn't break me out (and some foundations broke me out, so I am breakout prone),
- shade range (only 4 shades in my country).

For this price I totally recommend you to try. It's similar to YSL Touche Eclat foundation, but much cheaper. I would buy this product again.

I am still yet to find my perfect foundation. My local chemist was having a 50% discount on rimmel London so I thought I'd give the "Wake me up" collection a go.
The colour selection is quite poor and although I got the lightest shade it was still quite darkro.
When I made the purchase I didn't realize the pump so I had been unscrewing the cap (LOL).

The foundation provided good coverage and didn't stick to any dry patches like the Revlon Color Stay I had previously been using.

Ive gone through Nars, Napoleon Perdis, Revlon, Benefit, Rimmel and still haven't found the perfect foundation... Im cool toned so ache for a yellow toned foundation that leaves a dewy glow and good coverage, if any of you ladies can point my in the right direction I would be OVER THE MOON.

I bought this product after reading good reviews about it so thought I would give it a try. It offers a medium coverage and is very easy to blend, using a synthetic hair brush. After about 4 hours of wear, I do need to blot slightly as I find that I can look a tad oily after this time. Overall, this is a good foundation for every day wear but I wouldn't recommend it for very oily skin types.

I bought this after seeing Pixi2Woo use it in her makeup videos. I bought the shade Soft Beige, which the nearest match I could get to my NC30 skin type. The foundation was easy to blend, smelled slightly citrusy and the coverage was good. However it was so greasy! My face was very shiny by the afternoon, and even when I tried to blot it with powder the powder seemed to clump up due to the grease! Not a good look. I also think that £9 is rather expensive for a drugstore brand such as Rimmel. Not impressed.

I have been using this foundation for the past 3 months and I love it! It's a fairly medium coverage but buildable and leaves a lovely glow! Probably not ideal for those with oily skin though as it contains tiny specks of glitter which aren't noticable after application

The foundation itself is a lovely consistency, creamy and fairly easy to apply. However, I have noticed that blending requires more work than my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I apply this with my fingers as I figure that the warmth from my skin will help the product melt into my skin but I end up with streaks all over my cheeks, which is a first. Often I have to go over it with a sponge and facial mist. As my skin has been rather dry lately with the change of weather in Australia, this foundation sticks to the dry, flaky patches and emphasises them, even on top of a really good moisturiser. No shimmers that I can detect under normal lighting but under specific angles and certain light, there's definitely a bit of an Edward Cullen look happening. I had such high hopes for this product especially when I heard so many people rave about it and comparing it to my previous favourite foundation (Bourjois Healthy Mix) but personally I can't say the same. The packaging is gorgeous for a drugstore product - glass bottle and bright orange cap that makes the product stand out on my vanity (albeit the cheap plastic cap is rather difficult to replace on the bottle). Can't complain about the price - it's RRP AUD$19.95 but I managed to pick it up for under $10 on ASOS whilst it was on sale. Bargain but won't be repurchasing as the product just does not do it for me. For reference I am an NC20 Asian and I wear #51 in Healthy Mix and 100 Ivory in Wake Me Up.

I have yet to find the right shade for my skin, sigh. The first shade I brought was (I think) Nude. I brought it in nude due to my old foundation shade being Nude (Dream Matte Mouse). This was by far way too dark for me and I had to use other products on top to make it lighter. I didn't want to waste a whole bottle of it and buy another shade, so I put up with the orange comments for a while. The next shade I brought and which I am still currently using is 2 shades lighter in Classic Beige. This is still a little too dark for my skin but is better than Nude. So the shades really need to be lighter or re-named... As for the actual foundation, I love the coverage it gives! You don't have to use much at all to give you the look you want whether it's natural or full-blown night out makeup. It can be a little oily/dewy but with a little powder over it, it soon looks fine. The packaging is okay, nothing too fancy but I do LOVE the squirter on the top, it's so much easier to apply with it being there. Overall, once I finally find my right shade, I think I will find it perfect.

I was trying heaps of foundation on in the shop and I put some of this blended out on my chin and within 15 minutes it oxidised and was coming off. The colour matched my skin perfectly And the price was around average. I liked the packaging, but it just wasn't for me.

Such a lovely foundation had been recommended by many friends and I'm glad i tried it. It was on offer in boots at the time and only £5.99! All throughout having this product it gave my skin such a flawless finish with a good medium coverage, super dewy, radiant finish and lasted really well on my skin. It was also so easy to blend making for an easy application. I'd definetly say this foundation can double as a day time and evening foundation as its dewy and natural enough for the day time but can be built up to a really good coverage for a night out.
The only slight downside is the shade range which is very limited as I can just about get away with the lightest colour, although its the perfect shade for summer.
Overall, a very cheap, natural looking, good coverage foundation with a beautiful finish :)

I normally wear high end foundations like dior nude skin, Estée Lauder double wear, mac studio sculpt and Lancôme teint miracle. This is the first drugstore foundation that I love!!! I have combination nc25 skin and I wear 200 soft beige. This doesn't makes me greasy or oxidize. It lasts 8hrs before my forehead gets oily. It gives your face the most beautiful matte glowy effect . Which sounds weird but it really does!! Your skin does literally wake up! Give this a try!

I was really excited to try out this product after reading all the great reviews. I bought the foundation and the concealer and I was unfortunately disappointed with both of the products. The foundation is not dewy on me at all and that's what I was looking for in a foundation. I found it very streaky, it took me a long time to blend it in and it looked so cakey that I had to take it off immediately. (it didn't feel good on my face either). I might give this another try and might use it with another moisturizer underneath hopefully that will help because then it's just a waste. I do love the pump and the packaging, very cute. The smell is also very fresh and clean. It also does run very light in the color range. It goes from very pale shades straight to tanned ones and there's nothing in between for my olive tone skin.
The concealer was a disappointment as well. It has chunks of glitter in it and that's definitely not what I need because it makes me look like a disco ball and it accentuates the blemishes and dark under eye circles even more. It does provide a decent coverage though, I just wish it didn't have all that glitter in it.
Overall the I'd give the foundation a 6/10
and the concealer a 5/10

I feel bad saying I won't buy this foundation again. The reason is because it doesn't suit my skin and not because it isn't a good foundation... it is just too dewy looking on me and transfers off after a couple of hours. When I first applied it I loved the look and feel of it, I would recommend this for dry or normal skin. Stay away if you are a bit oily! You don't need a lot of product, it has medium coverage and blends easily, it doesn't dry out or go cakey looking. The packaging is good, I like the pump which most lower priced foundations don't include.

I got given this foundation and whilst I do love the dewiness, this just won't last on me! I don't have particularly oily skin or anything but within 4-5 hours, the lovely finish has gone and the foundation has quickly turned blotchy. Whilst this is meant to be a medium coverage foundation, I would expect it to cover up my redness and it only did after quite a few layers, but I must praise it for its blendability, colour match and how it doesn't go cakey. But overall, this foundation just didn't live up to its great claims.
