Not amazed by this product. Purchased it hoping it would extend the life of my manicure it does not seem to. Find I get lifting on the sides of my nails and once that starts the chipping follows very quickly. Used this again yesterday and there is already tip wear and side wear, chips will soon follow. I do want to try their regular fast drying top coat. I think it will be much better and take far less time than sitting and letting this cure under a UV light.

Ultra-V is an interesting product. I got it shortly after getting the Sensationail starter set, because I realized gel nails are not my thing, and the color was horrible.
But I digress.
It works. Usually it takes three minutes or so for it to cure, even with using the "Wal-Mart lamp", so to speak. The others are right that there is a particular odor, even after it's cured: but to me, it's more of a licorice smell than a pepper smell. It's still a little...odd, I guess would be the best word.
The only problem I have is that it's starting to goop up, and I've only had it a few months..even with it being in a black bottle, and on my shelf, where only the handle is peeking out. I'm hoping my nail polish thinner will help it.

I received this free with the purchase of the Ultra-V UV Lamp. It does shine but to get the salon finish shine I have to apply to coats. It does completely dry all layers in 3 min aslong as you use the UV Lamp in between layers (about 1 min per layer).
I may try a different top coat only because I do not want to have to apply to layers to get a good shine with out a streaky look.

I liked this product because it made my regular nail polish last 3 days, minor chipping started on the 4th day. No matter what technique/prep I use applying regular polish, it starts chipping after 24 hours, sometimes less. I've had professional manicures and I've tried a variety of products, but no matter what regular polish chips within a day.
I used Revlon Colorstay base coat and let it dry for 15 minutes. I then applied a China Glaze color and immediately followed with the Seche UV top coat. I cured under the light 3 minutes.

I have used Seche Vite several times and really liked it, but I know that it has bad ingredients and gets thick and goopy really quickly. I have tried a few other quick drying top coats with disappointing results so I decided to try this over my gelish manicure (I use clear gelish and then paint on top of it before sealing with a top coat as I don't like the gelish colors). So far, I have found this to be an excellent product. 3-5 minutes under the uv mini lamp that I purchased at Sally's and my polish is cured with a high-shine finish. So far, I have had no chipping or edge fade, but remember that this is essentially on an artificial surface since I polish over my gelish foundation and topcoat. Also, it doesn't seem like it is going to get thick like vite. The only downside to this product I have seen so far after three uses is the smell. It smells like pepper and the smell doesn't fade for at least 24 hours! But, given that it cures the underlying polish and dries in less than 5 minutes, it's a small price to pay.

Seche Vite Ultra-V Top Coat is a UV activated top coat. It promises that your nail polish will dry all layers of polish after it cures under a UV lamp in three minutes, be durable and have a lot of shine. The formula is thinner than the orginal Seche Vite and has a strange odor. It smells like a mixure of nail varnish and pepper. Even after washing my hands several time the smell is still there. Application is easy- it applies smooth. I have a cheapie UV lamp- so I believe that is the reason why it took 5 minutes to cure instead of 3 mintues. Not a biggie. I did find it dried my nail polish all the way through in a decent amount of time. My nails looks glossy smooth but nothing special- just like any other top coat. I didn't find it made my nails less prone to chipping. I had minor chips with in 24 hours. However, I found that when I used NYC Quick Dry clear nail polish on top of the Seche Vite Ulta V ( after it cured under UV ) my nail polish lasted over a week with out chips. When I used NYC alone as a top coat- I got good wear but not as good as this combo. This process is a little tedious but worth it. I only paid $5, so yes I would rebuy but I wouldn't pay more than $5 for this.
