Wow..what a fabulous foundation! Currently working my way through samples from Sephora #564 and #764 which surprisingly both work for me. This melds so well on the skin and looks utterly flawless and natural. It sets beautifully after powdering yet retains a glow that translates to healthy skin. Wears very well and definitely keeps skin moisturizer...perfect for combo or drier skin. Overall superb.

Bought this a few days ago after seeing good reviews, and lately have been on a spree for high end foundations! Have to say, I am so, so, so utterly pleased with this!!! Its retail price here is $370 HKD. Was matched with the 774 and it looks absolutely flawless and natural, blends in perfectly and doesn't look like anything is sitting on top of my face! It has miraculous staying power, i wear it on top of my PUPA primer. it endures being thoroughly soaked in the rain as well as sweating, it doesn't smear or melt one bit! No SPF but I wear sunscreen anyway, definitely my new HG foundation. Definitely recommend! It's medium to high coverage and one layer stippled on is more than enough!

Nice product and I only used 3 or 4 pumps and it's enough to cover my whole face. I used it with a makeup base to give it a more dewy glow. My face can be quite dry but this doesn't dry my skin out. Gives good coverage for me. Only downside is its expensive!

Lovely texture, but gave me 5 pimples over two days. However, it might be fine for others because my skin is like a Greatest Challenge show - I'm prone to breakouts. I just wanted to try this because Shu was making it difficult for me by not restocking it's original Face Architect liquid foundation in my color. Recommend going for one more direction towards pink tone because it is strong in yellow, like jaundice yellow. The illuminating one seems more yellow than the original fluid.

Really nice product. Somewhere between creamy and fluid and provides medium to high coverage. Usually I "dilute" it by mixing it with a plain moisturizer to get a sheerer, more natural look. For special occations, I use it on its own. Not overly hydrating but non-drying as well. Thumbs up!

This was my foray into "higher end" foundations. I wanted to buy the face architect smoothing fluid foundation but the SA recommended me this as she claimed that the coverage was higher and that it was more moisturizing for my dry skin. (I do not usually have dry skin, I am usually oily, but at that point I was on accutane hence my skin was drying out). However, this is my 2nd bottle since then!

I love the texture of this foundation, it is a good mix between creamy and liquid, and does a decent job at smoothing out pores as compared to something with a more liquid texture. The coverage is medium to high, though building up might tend to leave the face a little cakey. My favourite way of application is to use elf's studio powder brush (the flat top one), spritz it with a fixing spray, then dab that in the foundation and buff it on my face. This doesn't seem to sheer the product out, yet gives a more natural finish than even fingers (my 2nd fav way of applying) . While this product has quite a natural finish, it's not what i would call "real skin".

The product doesn't dry too fast either so there's time to work with it. The finish is very dewy. I like the dewy look so I only powder my forehead and chin. I do tend to get a little oily by midday, but a little blotting solves the problem. All in all, because of the nice balance of coverage and finish this is my go to foundation at the moment.

I am nc30-35 and use 564. Think it's slightly lighter than my colour but the brightening effect is awesome! Just the right amount of yellow for my skin too.

I did finished my previous Shu Architect fluid foundation and I really like it. Why? The color is a great match for Asian with yellow undertones, it brightens and looks great in photography. My skin was oily acne prone during teens. But, now at 31 is more of acne prone combination, sometimes dry due to Retin A/glycolic acid. Back to this foundation, honey.....it is illuminating moisture foundation. It is not oil free like the previous version. Reading from other reviewers, of course, if you have more oily skin, it won't really work, otherwise, you just need to keep on blotting or use Dr Brand pore mattifyer (it works!!!!). I used to mix 964 with 734. But in the US, it doesn't come in shade 9 anymore (the most yellow). I bought 754 and it works fine. It's comfortable on my skin and color is great, yes it can cause dewyness or for some ppl oiliness. I highly rec this for normal to dry skin type. Again, it is not OIL FREE, but NON COMEDOGENIC. It contains soybean oil for moisturizing property. I don't use it on daily basis, only for certain events, because I'm still having acne prone adult acne cycle. I use glominerals or jane iredale for daily use.

Having heard good things about Shu Uemura foundations, I purchased this in 774 light beige. My combination skin has always made finding the right foundation a challenge, my T-zone becomes oily in a few hours however the skin around my cheeks are quite prone to dryness and flaking. Living in a dry climate such as Australia doesn't help either. I apply the under base mousse first then use the pentagon sponge for the foundation. The foundation itself provides satisfying coverage and is buildable, and using a sponge will make it go longer. I rarely have to use a full pump to cover my whole face. I find it best to squeeze it onto the back of my hand, say on the index finger knuckle, then use the pentagon sponge to dab a small amount.

The downside to this foundation is in its oil control effectiveness. Even though I use loose finishing powder to set my makeup I find myself needing to touch-up by mid-day. It's a good foundation for those who have normal skin but I'll be looking for something more mattifying next time.

So far I love this foundation. I have it in 564 and the color works very well for me, which is of course important. But I also really like the finish of it - I prefer a dewy, natural look, but it's hard to find a natural looking foundation that also has decent coverage. This does a great job at both. I found that it lasted well throughout the day, but I have dry skin/no oiliness. Plus I don't like matte foundations, so maybe I'm just used to foundations coming off fast.

** edit: I am taking a star off because this foundation officially makes my face break out with rosacea. and it kind of smells weird, like rubber or chemicals or something, which is probably why. **

I have mixed feelings about this foundation...
i wear the 764 (light medium beige)
i have been using the original Face architect smoothing fluid foundation forever and it was my HG, the color consistency and all, except i wanted a little more coverage, and dewiness, so i was excited when i saw this foundation, moisture fluid online at shuumera.com. i bought it right away..
pros:
1.ts Dewey
2. great coverage

Cons:
1.can get oily.. and don't get me wrong i love the j.lo dewy look but this can look extremely oily.. like extremely and i always set with a loose powder, right now i set with shu uemura sheer colorless loose powder
2. it smells like strong chemical order.. im not sure why, and usually smells don't bother me.. on the plus side, the smell doesn't linger all day or anything, just at first when you put it on
3. THE COLOR.. this is a huge one for me, i wear 764 in the orginial and for some reason with this illuminating moisture fluid one, it is SO YELLOW.. and i love yellow i mean thats why i love shu,but damn this is really yellow that even my brother was like wth are you so yellow... when i set with loose powder it tones it down but i don't like that it is so yellow so i order the 564, i guess I'll see if that works.. it seems the colors are not the same as the original face architect smoothing fluid foundation... im going to try to mix the original and the new to see if i can get a medium of dewy but no oily, yellow but no too yellow.. i love all shu makeup products and used to work in cosmetics and i think i have a pretty good eye for what works well.. i love his products.

A beautiful product!
I had just finished a bottle of the normal Face Architect foundation in 764 which I love and went into the store to buy some more.. I like a dewy finish because I have quite dehydrated skin (I sit right under a vent at work!!!), and got it a shade darker in the 774 (I have been spending a bit of time in the sun). I have only been using this product for a week but am loving it so far.
Easy pump bottle, no smell, lovely finish. It does however need a bit of setting (as did the normal Face Architect Foundation) to keep it lasting the day. This was $68 AUD but I know you can get it online cheaper.

a dewy finish, more moisturizing version of the face architect smoothing fluid foundation. personally i prefer the smoothing fluid one to this as i have slightly oily skin and this just makes me look even oilier. but all in all, a good product nonetheless. more suitable for dry skin type.
