I was suppose to get vibrant grape but it wasn't available in the MAC store I got it from so I got this one instead. I was excited to try it out at home but I decided to read the reviews online and was dismayed alot of people didn't like it. Alot of users reported a bruised look to this color. I totally see it. It's not as pigmented as other mac e/s like but it's buildable. I mainly use it as a pop of color in the middle of the eyelid in a smokey look. Sometimes I layer Tempting over this as a crease color or pair this up as an outer corner color with swish in the inner half and it looks just ok together.

It's just one of those colors that has a cool name but you don't exactly find yourself reaching for when you pick the colors for the day. I wish I could have gotten a neutral shade. Wouldn't buy again.

This shade looked bad on me. It looked like a reddish purple bruise on my eyelids. I hated it. It was also kind of sheer and powdery for a MAC shadow. I wouldn't repurchase.

I was very excited because this is the first MAC eyeshadow I bought. I have to say I'm really dissapointed, the color is not very pigmented, and since I bought it from ebay I couldn't test it before. Anyway the color is nice, but too "washed" :(

I didn't even mean to buy Creme de Violet. I thought I had picked up Parfait Amour, which was sitting right next to it, and didn't know until I got home and opened it up. However I am pretty glad I did pick it up, as I probably wouldn't have otherwise, and I think it's a pretty unique color to own. It's a little more pink than I would prefer but it's still really pretty, doesn't make me look tired how pinks and reds tend to do. Nice gold shimmer. Not super pigmented but I still like it anyway.

This is a gorgeous, unique yet very versatile eyeshadow.
It looks best in the outer corners of the eye just for a touch of color, and it looks amazing with coppers, reds, purples, bronzes, blues, greens, basically anything!
It's also the perfect lower lashline pop of color.
It's pinky based, but not too much to make you look tired, and the gold shimmers make it a tad more wearable.
The only con is it doesn't have great pigmentation, but for a bright color that's alright!

I'm sorry but this eyeshadow was the worst eyeshadow I have ever used from MAC. The color payoff is spoltchy - meaning that when I use my MAC 239 brush on my lids, it leaves some areas colored, and other areas not...I don't know what the helk is up with this color. It doesn't come off on my lids nicely AT ALL. It's terrible. I have to put tons and tons of this eyeshadow on and it still doesn't leave a good color payoff on my lids. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! Worst eyeshadow ever. Would DEFINITELY NOT buy this one again...

This color gores great with my green eyes. I love putting MAC Honey Lust on my lids and putting Creme de Violet on the outer corners. It has a very small amount of gold in it, but it's awesome!

I love this color, I wear it a lot at night on my lid, with Seedy Pearl as my highlight, and Satellite Dreams in my crease. You can definitely affect the color that it appears by how much you put on, you can build it from an almost pink to the rich purple that it appears in the tin. This is BY FAR one of my most favorite shadows in my collection!

The color payoff on my skin wasn't that great, which kind of sucks because this is my first experience with MAC. Even with a primer it didn't look that good. It looks more pink than purple on my skin and I'm not really a fan of pink. I don't see myself wearing this very much in the future but if I do I'll definitely need a base to really make it really pop. I probably won't buy this color again.

I thought this was going to be too light for me but it ended up working perfectly. it pairs nicely with other pinks and purples, also with yellows. I reach for this quite often for my inner corners. it blends easily.

I am obsessed with purple eyeshadows so i had to add this to my collection. I don't reach for it as much as i should though. It is a very unique eyeshadow. It has beautiful sparkles.

I LOVE this colour! I'm really pale with green eyes and this shadow makes my eyes pop without being too much. I'd say it's more pink than the photos posted in the review though.

I got this on ebay for 6 bucks.....if i had to pay anymore for it i would say not worth it. the payoff is unspectacular. however, i did a smoky eye with sharkskin and satin taupe the other day, put a touch of this on over the satin taupe and it was beautiful....would use it this way only probably. nice for dark brown eyes. not the best shadow out there though. i personally prefer stars n rockets to this.

Creme de Violet is one of Mac's most recognizable shades. By that, I mean that in my palette full of purples, I can easily point out Creme de Violet before anything else because it is so unique. It's a beautiful pinky purple color with gold shimmer and I love it. I like to wear it all over my lid with a darker plum like Trax in the crease. Or I'll wear a light pinky gold like Da Bling all over my lid with creme de violet in the crease.

I really love purples with my brown eyes so this is a necessary color in my collection. it's not super pigmented but you need lighter colors as well as deeper ones for varied looks. I put this in my crease and deepen it with Sketch. It's lovely and has a bit of warm shimmer but it's not particularly shiny. I hate lots of glitter. This is a color I would recommend to brown eyed girls in particular. Great color.

Didn't find it chalky or dry or not pigmented like alot of people say, the color just did not work on my blue eyes/tan skin. It looked too pink on me and pink is really unflattering around my eyes.

This colour has surprisingly low colour payoff for MAC. It looks stunning in the pan but very light on the lids. I have to layer it 3 times before the colour looks remotely like what it does in the pan. It also has pink undertones, which looks shocking on my yellow toned skin. I bought this colour as an attempted replacement from Vibrant Grape as they looked similar. Right now, i'll swap it for almost anything!

This is an okay color. I really love purples and I probably have all of Macs purples. But at first, I was really excited for this shade. But once I got it, I was very disappointed on how it turned out on my skin. It is very hard to find another shade of purple that looks good with this one without this color drowning out the color of the other purple. This color is mostly good my itself all over the lid. Wouldn't recommend and won't buy it again once I am finished with this one.

This is a nice purple shade but the consistency of this powder shadow doesnt add up to the other mac shadows i own. Color is relatively hard to get on the brush, not that easy to blend, doesnt work wet, the powder dries up and you cant seem to get any pigment out. Usually goes un-used beause of it.

I was excited to find this @ a MAC counter after it being SOLD OUT online for the A Rose Romance Collection...But when i saw it, it wasn't as pretty as it was online...So I ask'd tha MAC girl 2 swatch it n it was matte & chalky n hard to work with...So I decided not 2 buy this and went with Et tu, Bouquet instead!
