Queen Helene products are simply amazing! I have come to really love and enjoy everything I've tried thus far and hope to find some more to try out. This scrub is really great and here's why.
~~~~~~~~~~ PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Queen Helene products can be found in few places. They are not yet widely available but hopefully one day will be. I can find my QH products at Dollar General, Sally's Beauty Supply, and Family Dollar. The price is super affordable. Generally priced around $2-3 which is great considering some facial products are very expensive but this affordable product works great.
~~~~~ SHADE & FORMULA & PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~
Queen Helene Oatmeal n' Honey Natural Facial Scrub is a great scrub for most skin types. Make sure to spot test before going wild all over just in case because importantly, we all have different skin types & needs. So my opinion & results will not be the same as someone else. This claims to be " a gentle cleansing natural fiber scrub w/ smoothing oatmeal & honey. It draws out impurities, unclogs pores & removes dry dead cells from the surface of skin. Honey helps to replenish lost moisture & protects skin from harsh elements. Skin will look fresh & healthy & feel soft & smooth. Apply daily or as often as desired. Ideal for use in the shower too." I use this once or twice a week depending on how my skin is. This is good for those with normal, combo or oily skin. I do have dry skin & still can use this w/out any issues of it over drying out my skin any more. Actually it helps to take away any flaky spots. This makes my skin feel smoother. I will always apply a thick moisturizer on my face after cleansing bc of my dry skin. It helps my moisturizer sink in better & also my makeup looks more even since I don't have any flaky spots. The formula or consistency is a very thick heavy cream like texture with larger granules of oatmeal throughout. If you have tried their Apricot Scrub, its similar but less harsh as the size of granules are. I love the smell of this!! It smells of delicious honey & oatmeal. It smells so yummy going on. The scent does not linger after rinsing it off. I apply in the shower. I use a nickel size dollop, then using my finger tips, rub in tiny circular motions to rub it gently. I let it sit for a minute then rinse away. I don't smell anything afterward. This is a really great affordable scrub similar to more expensive brands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Queen Helene Oatmeal n' Honey Natural Facial Scrub comes in the standard QH plastic squeezable tube. The tube is big enough to last awhile. The tube is basically white with oatmeal like coloring. Product name & claims on front as well on the back w/ directions & ingredients. The lid is also an oatmeal/brown color. Easily twists on/off. This squeezes easily, no hassles. The hole is big enough to disperse enough product w/out wasting a whole bunch either. fl oz of product which is alot. It may not seem like alot but its def alot. Only a nickel size is needed. I typically find my bottles with weekly use or so, will last a few months. Its not the prettiest or most unique packaging but it simple & effective which to me, is enough. I'd rather have a pump but i think w/ the formula it would clog up or there would be issues.
Overall, if you have not tried this product or Queen Helene, give one of their products a try. This one is really amazing! I also recommend Mint Julep Mask for those w/ more acne prone skin. I use it as area spot treatment. I highly recommend this scrub & will most def repurchase over & over!
I have been wanting to try this closer to Spring/Summer because I have been using the Cocoa butter scrub for the cold months and i adore it. So at Sally's I was going to get the Cocoa but they were out.
So I got this since I love oatmeal and honey. I use honey in the warmer months on my skin anyway and the oatmeal has always been good to my skin so I thought this would be great to get.
Well for 4$ it is excellent! I really like this scrub. I use Retin A so this is perfect because it removes the dead skin without over scrubbing. In the Spring/Summer I am always more oily. Yet this scrub seems to be keeping my skin soft,smooth, and clear.
I really like the scent and when I use it in the shower i let it sit a bit. When I rinse it's like new skin. It's not rough on the skin either which, is important for me because my skin is very delicate. For the price you get a great amount and it works......luv simple as that!
Would I repurchase totally and I recommend it. It's a goodie:)
This is a godsend! I bought this on a whim at a health store while I was on vacation and was extremely surprised how well it works. It really doesn't smell that great, but you get used to it after a few uses and don't really notice it afterward.
I don't think I've really had a favorite face scrub/wash before I tried this - I was always trying something new because everything I used before was so-so, but with this I know I will repurchase and continue to repurchase. My skin feels so soft and amazing after this! Wow!
I purchased this at Sally's for around $5. Amazing product! I use this before I apply my mint mask. If Im wearing makeup, ill remove my makeup first, cleanse my face with aveeno's ultra calming foaming cleanser and then use this oatmeal scrub. I personally love the st ive's apricot scrub but my skin has been clear so I wanted to check out a scrub that didn't have salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide. The beads in this scrub are so fine yet they get the job done. I'm not a big fan of the honey scent; it reminds me of baby powder. But if the product works, then It's not a big deal. Definitely would repurchase! :)
Love this brand. Never tried anything from them that I do not like. Honey is great because of its antimicrobial properties and is great at healing acne. Oatmeal is also a wonderful skin care staple. This scrub combines the two in a convenient tube. Great exfoliation, gentle enough for every day, smells awesome, and like all Queen Helene products, easily accessbile and affordable.
So I have been using the st Ives apricot scrub for a long time as a everyday face cleanser but I ran out I was at a family dollar store and saw this scrub, I have always wanted to try but only find them at sallys and i rarely go so I grabbed this instead of the st ives, I already love the mint julep and clay mask so I had high hopes. Well let me tell you this scrub feels so nice on my face and smells nice very natural. When i first used it I had a reddish tint to my face but now after a week or so im noticing my skin looks a little brighter and less dry after using, the st ives was drying me out even though im oily after :/. In the shower i like to leave it in on for a while so the honey it contains does its magic. This is a keeper!!
As other reviewers have mentioned, this smells divine, while not being overly perfumed. This is another reasonably priced skincare product from Queen Helene- a physical exfoliater with little rough beads (I believe pieces of walnut shells) that is meant to slough off dead skin
I hate to bring the overall rating down, but.. this is just ok for me. Everyone's skin is different, but on my acne prone, acne-scarred, bumpy, not-sensitive at all, oily skin.. I was not blown away by any means. I think this would be better for people looking for an extremely gentle exfoliate that won't be irritating. I have been using it regularly and haven't noticed any improvement in my skin's smoothness or a decrease in breakouts. I think I need to hunt for something a little stronger.
This by far is one of the best natural scrubs I've ever used. Within a couple days you will start to see results. My skin texture and clarity has improved tremendously. The product is not harsh or drying on the skin. I'm pleased with the price and quality.
I was so happy with the other Queen Helene products i have used that I thought i would try the Oatmeal n' Honey Facial Scrub and I am very happy with it! It does remove the dead layer of cells of the surface of your skin and leaves your skin feeling smooth. It smells awesome like honey. It has gentle smell bead scrubbers that nicely exfoliate your skin.
I use this scrub with an exfoliating sponge and it gently cleanses my skin and leaves my face soft and smooth. It's only $3 at my local Family Dollar, however that is the only place i have fond it.
Smells so wonderful! I love the smell of sweet ‘ol honey like pooh bear :D I use this scrub on the days when my skin is feeling the need of some exfoliating action. My skin feels smoother and refreshed after a good scrubbing with this product.
It’s so affordable as well! Don’t use it every day since it might be too abrasive for sensitive skins. A very good supplement for an acne skincare routine.
I love this face scrub. The granules are small so they aren't as likely to cause micro-tears as some of the other more popular face scrubs can *coughStIvescough* and the smell is sweet and refreshing. Leaves my face smooth, gentle enough for me to use every day if I want to. Queen Helene is a quality brand.
First off, I will begin by saying I love anything honey. I love how it smells and tastes and I love that it has moisturizing and natural antibacterial properties. With that being said, people who battle blemishes on a regular basis are going to love this exfoliator. Before I stumbled upon this gem, I was using scrubs by St. Ives, Neutrogena, Skin Food, Olay, Clinique, and Origins. Never have any caused such a significant change in my skin. In fact, I always noticed most scrubs left a residue/film after I washed them off. Oh and boy were they all such a pain to wash off. I'd rinse my face probably a good few times until I noticed every grain or bead was washed off my face. Since scrubbing was such a chore, I exfoliated less-which equaled to a less than stellar complexion. Lo and behold! Queen Helene Honey Oatmeal Scrub to the rescue. I bought this from a beauty supply store last week, about 4 days ago and used it on the day of purchase. So on to the review:this stuff seems gentle enough to use everyday; it doesn't dry my skin and the grains aren't too abrasive. I also love that it rinses completely clean and is easy to wash off. The pleasant scent keeps me coming back for more so my skin is smoother, clearer, and less dull. I can't really say this smells like honey or oatmeal. I think it smells like cocoa butter; the smell is not overpowering to me at all. A little bit goes a long way since it's not so thick you can't spread it. I can see this lasting a while even with constant use. Though I love the price tag (dirt cheap), I hate the packaging! It's bulky, ugly, and screams dollar store. Other than that, it's my favorite scrub SO FAR! I will continue to use this and update if I have any adverse reactions.
** For people who have allergies or are looking out for certain ingredients this product includes parabens, sulfates (SLS), nuts, and fragrance.
Really enjoying this product!
I bought this to replace my St.Ives Apricot scrub, which I have noticed lately is way too harsh on my skin. Its gentle enough to not irritate my skin, but strong enough to really get the job done. I LOVE the smell, but if you are sensitive to fragrance, you might not like it. Great buy, will always repurchase.
This is a MUST HAVE in my opinion. Go out and buy it now! I love the oatmeal & honey ingredients (although the product itself is not that natural but it is like $3 so come on). The exfoliator in this is ground up walnut shells which is kind of cool but yes you guessed it: very abrasive so BEWARE. Do not use this regularly in other words, it will irritate your skin and cause additional redness.
The consistency of this product is nice, thick but not too thick so easy to apply. I love this product because it has multiple uses for me (if I find that in a product I ALWAYS repurchase). I use this once a week maximum on my face because I have very sensitive skin but I use it a few times a week on my FEET. Haha. It's a fantastic foot scrub! Helps scrub away that tough dead skin and gives my feet a smooth texture. Of course I apply a thick foot cream on afterwards (currently Burt's Bees Almond cream). Then put your feet in some clean socks and it's moisture city! My feet are completely renewed! So my recommendation: buy this product, try it once or twice on your skin to get an idea of how it works for you then try it as a foot scrub! Ha! :)
I hear that oatmeal is a great all natural gentle scrub and honey is supposed to help soften up your skin. I decided to get this so it would be easier for me to use. It was the nice the first time i used it. However the scrub didn't do much for my skin. the fragrance also smells way too artificial. i use it for a body scrub. I still haven't found the exoliator i'm looking for.
This makes my skin feel buttery soft and well exfoliated BUT, its also makes me breakout!!! I thought perhaps it was something else causing the breakouts...NO! I stopped using it (for about 6 months). Stumbled upon it in my drawer and thought "what the hay!" Well sure enough, four red bumps on my face in the morning. This went right into the garbage!
