LOVE this product. Because of this cleanser I became obsessed with Lush Cosmetics. It's very gentle on my skin even with the bits of almond and cranberry and smells good enough to eat! I have very dry skin in the winter and this has definitely helped make my skin softer. The only bad things about this product is the fact that its a little messy and its seasonal.

I bought a tub of this because it was 50 percent off in the Lush store. That was actually the only reason (that and the fact that I had run out of AoBS) so when I got home and read that this was quite akin to Angels on Bare Skin I was very pleased with my purchase.
The smell is lovely. Very doughy and edible.
The little bits of fruit and the nori seaweed give this cleanser a lovely touch, but also make it quite hard to apply. I think it is even more gentle that AoBS and that it does not cleanse just as well. It does leave my skin super soft.
When I use AoBS I rarely have even the slightest blemish. But now I see some pimples on my chin and forehead. But that could also be because I have to study a lot for my mid year exams, so I'm eating pretty unhealthy and I'm constantly touching my face.

This is the best Lush stuff. I love it. Very soft scrub. Amazingly clean while the skin is not dry, but beautifully hydrated. I'm so sad that it's only limited edition.

I received a sample of this with an order and I ended up liking it so much I bought it! I normally use herbalism everyday and love it, so this will not be replacing it. Buche de Noel seems to strip the oils from my skin more than herbalism, so I would not want to use this everyday, maybe 2 times a week or a day when I want to be especially oil free. Too bad it's only available around Christmas, I would love to try it in the summer!

I've been a great fan of Angels on Bare Skin, so naturally, have been keen to try Buche de Noel. I'm now a half carton done, and as usual, it's another big YES!!! for Lush's product. Just like AOBS, this leaves your face really smooth and soft, but Buche de Noel is even better as it smells lovely and fruity- very much of berries. It's a definite repurchase. Unfortunately, it's only a Christmas item, so I got 2 more tubs as spares. Wish it can be a year round product, Lush.

This was a complete impulse purchase, spurred no doubt by the Holiday excitement, yummy smell and the fact that i was really-really hungry :) Unfortunately this is just one more product that i am hooked on and cant get easily year-round. Grrrr! I know that this being a seasonal item makes it a "IT" product right now but i really wish LUSH takes the hint already and makes it permanent offering (along with the Snow Fairy shower gel!)!
Most people compare this to Angels on Bare Skin and i will agree that they are definitively related but i think at best they may be cousins...The texture is similar of course but the Buche de Noel is definitively more gritty and smells so-so-so much better. Just like ABS this cleanser is kind of messy to use but practice helps so after a few tries i am becoming a pro. A pinch in the palm of my hand, mixed with a few drops of warm water is all it takes but make sure to apply it on each face area individually. Gentle massage is all my skin can take otherwise if i scrub too hard abrasions are sure to follow. I also love that it rinses easily and doesnt leave my skin red and blotchy like some of the other LUSH cleansers (Coal Face i am looking at you!).
The reason i love this so much is because it actually reminds me of another staple in my skin care cabinet - Dr.Hauschka's Cleansing Cream! Must be the almonds but LUSH obviously smells much better :)
This doesnt leave my skin dry but i think it might not be suitable for the very-dry skin types, it exfoliates nicely but doesnt replace a facial scrub so it can be used daily although i wouldnt recommend it 2x a day - just once is enough!
The only bad thing is that it makes me crave sweets every time...and i dont know how to bake..or cook..really...

Buche de noel is hands down the best morning cleanser i've ever used!!
Yeah, I only use it once a day because of its scrubby texture. It exfoliates well and really gentle, makes my skin so smooth without being harsh to my skin. (At night, I use clarisonic with other cleanser)
I've been using buche de noel for about 5 weeks, and my skin loooovvvvvveeeesss it soooo much.. :D
And.... it smells AH-MAZE-ING!!! It looks yummy, almost good enough to eat haha.. It tastes sweet too, anyway..=p **NO, I didn't eat it, just accidently tasted it in the shower.. xD **

Wow, they should really make this one a permanent option for cleansers. I used it on a whim, and next thing you know, my face really calmed down. I have combination skin, but in the winter it is dry and irritated and gets red with breakouts. Since using this, my skin has calmed down, it's more even and my pores have really shrank. I was told that it was seasonal so I purchased 4 and keep them in the fridge. How I wish this was year round....sniff sniff

I think this is the first facial cleanser I've ever used that actually made me excited to wash my face every day! This is mostly because the smell is lovely and unique -- it smells like a spicy, fruity cake. Sounds weird, but I love it. This cleanser is very similar to Angels on Bare Skin in consistency. However, I find this to be thicker and the exfoliation to be a little rougher than Angels. Not Lush Ocean Salt rough or anything, just slightly harsher than AOBS. This is a little more moisturizing than AOBS, which makes it great for winter. This brightens up my complexion and makes my face soft and smooth. It doesn't do anything for my mild acne, but it doesn't claim to, so I can't dock points for that. I like the dried cranberries in here -- it's kind of fun in a childish way to be smooshing fruit onto your face! Overall, this is a great wintertime cleanser and I'm already excited to repurchase next year!

I think this is similar to Angels on Bare Skin cleanser. I like the smell of this cleanser, it smells like almonds and cherries faintly, with a fresh undertone. I personally don't really consider this much of a cleanser as it doesn't foam up and probably doesn't deeply clean the pores. I use a separate foaming cleanser (L'Oreal 360) with a face brush, rinse off with warm water and then apply the Buche De Noel and leave on like a mask, for about 8 minutes. I love what that does for my face, it makes it super soft even before I apply my Full of Grace serum bar and Philosophy's Hope in a Jar. My face is so smooth and moisturized and I only do that before bed because it's a little rich. I hope this helps someone (:

I recieved this in a royal sample from Lush. I've used it two times this week so far and it is a lovely smelling but also very gentle cleanser for my sensitive skin, with bits of almond giving a mild scrub. I will definitely purchase this next year!

I was so excited about this one . when i tried in the store ..my hand felt so smooth. I instantly had to buy it . But unfortunately it broke me out . My skin is normal skin . It gets drier in winter and gets oilier in summers or hot places. Buche de Noel is a fantastic product but unfortunately it tends to make my skin dry. Its exactly like angels on bare skin but wrapped in sea weed and there are big chunks of cranberries which I think is useless. But It smells nice . Its very exfoliating . So i might use it twice a week in winter . But if you have similar skin type .. please avoid and look for something more hydrating and moisturising in winters .
Also , like most of its cleanser , its messy to use this one.

This is Lush's Christmas cleanser, similar to Angels on Bare Skin but with more seasonal ingredients, such as cranberries, brandy, fresh satsumas, and ground almonds. It looks and feels much the same as AOBS and does pretty much the same job. Smells fruitier and isn't as exfoliating in my mind, but still effective. Leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. It's preservative free, so while it doesn't need refridgerated as the fresh face masks do, it only lasts around 3 months before it needs to be discarded. Although I've found the amount you get lasts about that long with twice-weekly uses. I don't use it every day as it's exfoliating, and I use a makeup remover beforehand, as this is really for using on bare skin.
I like this, I've bought it a few years in a row now, think Lush has the right idea in just bringing it out at Christmas as it's so similar to AOBS but makes a nice change for the holidays with the warm fruity smell :)
