Pure Verbena smells herbal, a subtle earthy herbal you might smell standing near a garden. I smell citrus in the opening. Citrus mixed with the earthy herbal makes it stand out among the perfumes currently in the mainstream market. It's different. Pure Verbena is very subtle, you can spritz away. It is not a strong fragrance, but it's a persistent one. 9 hours later I can smell it's soft vanilla base. If ever a perfume should be called a veil, this one should. It is so light and sheer. It's beautiful. It would be 5 stars, but it is so quiet, sometimes I hardly know it's there, but then that could be considered part of it's charm.

Right now, I'm liking this Verbena version of Pure and may purchase it again. I loved the magazine scent strip version of the original Pure, but once I began to wear the real perfume, I hated it more and more and ended up giving my bottle away. I'm hoping that doesn't happen this time. Pure Verbena is a light scent, not overpowering at all, and doesn't cause my allergies to flare up.

A crisp but absolutely lovely scent. The lasting power is poor, thus the missing lippie, but this is the kind of soft and fresh scent that seems purposefully fleeting. There are so many scents out now that could also be described as soft and fresh, but they all seem to have sweetness and fruitiness, neither of which I like, and Pure Drop of Verbena manages to stay away from both. There is a definite basil note, or even something kind of earthy-dirt like, that stands out once in a while that gives this scent a hint of an edge. If you're looking for clean without any fruit - give this a sniff!

On my way to add Pure to my perfume collection I smelled this and instantly decided that it was far superior. I now own a small bottle of it, and while I am quite impressed with the scent it has ridiculously miniscuel lasting power; thus the three stars. As small as the bottle is I don't appreciate the fact that it is necessary for me to touch up that often. Some mornings it literally feels as if it has a lasting power of three minutes. I might repurchase this just because I love the scent so much. Hmmm. Most likely I will invest in Ralph Lauren's Romance or Dolce and Gabbana's Light Blue instead.

This isn't the worst fragrance I've smelled but I wouldn't say I like it - or would wear it. As far as the "verbena" monicker goes, upon first spritz there is a touch of citrusey - and faguely lemony/verbenay freshness. But it is in more of a fresh shammpoey scent type of citrus/verbena rather than in a natural fresh verbena leaf or citrus essential oil type of way. That fades very quickly and oddly enough you are left w/ a fairly spicey skin sort of scent - not musky at all - but spicey. Not cinnamon spice per say but that sort of vague cologney type of spice. Not my fave.
