I wanted to replace my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors with something lighter...much lighter. Becca's highlighters are beautiful, but as I get older my skin looks better with very light, almost invisible products. Ever since I switched to a BB cream I just want my skin to look like real skin, like you truly have nothing on, but still fresh and glowy. Fresh Glow serves that purpose.

I've only used this as a highlighter on my cheekbones, nose and chin. As I use a BB cream I don't need a primer anyway. The product itself is like a gel, very light and blends completely into the skin if you rub it in. Only with a magnifying glass could you see the shimmer particles. To get a highlighting effect, I patted the product onto the skin and used 2-3 layers. It did not disturb my BB cream and since it's also a primer, it dried fast and lasted all day.

Compared to Becca's SSP in Pearl specifically, Fresh Glow is much, much lighter in texture and much less glowy, producing a minimal highlighting effect. It really just looks like "freshly washed skin" or that satiny look of babies' skin when it catches the light. I'd probably have no use for it 10 years ago as the effect is very subtle and some might say non-existent, but it suits me now.

I love this. This primer is currently $48 USD for 1oz of product, which definitely puts it in the upper echelon of primers on the market, but it's fabulous. This primer is very fluid, like a liquid foundation and the finish is dewy and luminous. At first, it looks like a slighty frosty champagne color with tiny micro-shimmers, but when you spread it out it just looks shiny and transparent. I can't detect a scent at all, and I don't find it makes me any more oily than usual. It does seem to make my foundation last longer, but only by an hour or two. I use this under liquid foundation and find that it does give a more radiant finish. Plus, the packaging is great- a plastic bottle with a pump, and a metal sheath with the classic Burberry check pattern on it. Too bad it gets covered in fingerprints, but it is still an awesome product!

So far... So good! Gives an amazing glow to my skin before using my Burberry foundation, although it can be used on it's own as well I would say! It isn't sticky or weird feeling once on the skin, and applies very easily with fingers. It has a slight shimmer in it but doesn't make you look greasy or a negative shiny once applied. I think it would be good for all skin types! Although mine is normal, and combination in the summer.

I was skeptical to buy this product because of its high price but my friend told me it makes her look so good with the foundation. The Burberry velvet foundation itself is already an excellent product, but using this primer underneath truly makes your skin glow naturally. People would stop by and tell you that you have really good skin without knowing that you are wearing this magic liquid & Burberry foundation.

While this does give a very luminescent glow to your skin, it is very subtle. I personally mix this in with my Chanel VL foundation. I find that this does give the most beautiful radiant finish when applied alone but mixed or used under the foundation .. it doesn't really show up because the foundation masks the purpose of this illuminator. It smells and feels divine. Very expensive at AUD$70 it makes me feel luxurious and makes my dressing table look incredibly elegant.

First off, let me tell you a little about my skin. I have a sensitive, combination skin - dry on my cheeks and oily on my t-zone.

I had no interests in getting this product when i went to the mall but as I came by the burberry counter, I was drawn to this. When I tried this on back of my hand, I was surprised by its lovely texture and subtle but pretty shimmer. It looked so gorgeous under the heavy lighting. I was even concerned it might make my face like a shiny mirror ball, but when I tried it at home, I was so relieved that shimmer looked so subtle and lovely. It has a light texture which does not make you feel heavy whatsoever. Herego, it's perfect for summer.

I use this product as a highligher under my foundation. I apply this on my cheekbones, under my eyes, forehead, bridge of my nose and a little bit on my chin. I am just thankful that it hasn't broken me out. A lot of base products out there make me break out, so I am just glad it hasn't so far. I think it does act like a primer also because ever since I started applying this product on my t-zone, I dont have to blot my t-zone as often. It certainly controls oil.

As far as the price goes, it is definitely on a expensive side and I do not think it would be a right choice for those who want very visible shimmer on their face. However, if you are like me and want subtle, pretty, lovely shimmer, then this is THE right product for you. And I honestly think that if you apply this as a highlither after your foundation, I am sure the shimmer will be a lot more visible.

I have tried out the benefits' high beam, bobbi brown's highlighter pen, Mac's cream highlighter, and a lot of other powder highlighter, this is my favorite so far. I only gave it a four-star because it is not moisturizing enough. I don't think i will be using this product in winter - I will use something more creamy and moisturizing. But this is just perfect to use it in summer. I hope you find this review helpful. Thanks for reading =)

It looks so lovely in the bottle, and I read such great reviews, that I had high hopes for this product, which I think can be used as both a primer and an illuminator. I've tried it both ways, and have been a little underwhelmed both times. As a highlighter I put some on my cheeks, but didn't really notice anything. As a primer, once you put a tinted moisturizer on top, you can't see the shimmer. So while the texture is really lovely, and the packaging is great, it's my least favorite product I've tried from Burberry. There's no Burberry counter near where I live, so I didn't have an option to try it first, but I think if I had I would have passed. I prefer other illuminating type products - I'm especially fond of my Guerlain Cruel Gardenia powder (which I think is mostly sold out) - I also find that the Tom Ford blushes have such lovely shimmer in them that if you just use that one product it does the trick of acting as both blush and highlighter (assuming you only use highlighter on your cheeks).

Love this product, even though it is obscenely expensive and you really don't get that much in the bottle. It looks like a big bottle, but on closer inspection it's really just a lot of packaging. (Looks great on a dressing table though!)

But the product itself is wonderful. I am a highlighter addict, I love shimmer and have used a lot of products. Before this I was wearing Benefit's High Beam, which is way more pink than this. When I first got this, I thought it was too subtle. Now I love it. It gives such a candle-lit glow, really beautiful for day or night. On me it's a soft champagne color.

According to the packaging, its like a primer as well. I think that might be part of the reason I like it so much. But I primarily consider it a luminizer and already use Laura Geller primer. I do think it contributes to an overall plumpness to the skin that other highlighters don't really do.

I believe this product is a new offering for Fall 2011. It is a slightly luminescent liquid that can be used as either a primer or a highlighter. In the bottle, it has a slight pinkish cast, but it does not apply on the face that way.

From the Burberry site:

All-in-one make-up and skincare product to moisturise and highlight
Innovative luminous fluid base for instant radiance
One shade perfects all skin tones
Apply as a moisturiser for a radiant glow or use as a shimmering highlighter

It retails for $42USD, and you get the same-sized bottle as the foundation. It also comes in the same style of bottle, with the signature Burberry-checked top, and a pump that twists to lock shut.

For reference, I have combination skin with a light-golden complexion. My main concerns are my oily t-zone (I hate using anything that makes me look oilier) and large pores on my nose. Since I am currently pregnant, I've noticed my skin has also broken-out more than usual.

Anyway, I use one pump of Fresh Glow on top of my sunblock lotion (currently Dior's DiorSnow SPF50), before applying foundation. I find that it helps to even out the complexion a bit, and also helps the foundation to go on evenly and last longer. Then, I follow with the Burberry Sheer foundation in #5... add a bit of concealer on my dark undereye circles and any spots. Then, I powder my nose and add a tiny droplet of Fresh Glow on the cheekbones, browbones, and sometimes the inner corners of the eye to give that extra highlight. The pearl/shimmer particles in this product are so fine that it doesn't look like you are wearing shimmer -- just that your skin glows.

This product was what I'd hoped BeneFit's That Gal would be, except That Gal was way too pink, a bit heavy, and looked unnatural, even under my foundation. Fresh Glow, on the contrary, is sheer and imperceptible, and would mostly likely work well for all skintones without looking obvious or ashy. The texture is lightweight, and there is a lovely fresh rose scent (which I personally love, though I know some ladies hate it!)

Anyway, I love this stuff, and it will most certainly be one of my makeup bag mainstays!

P.S. Fresh Glow was allegedly used on Rosie Huntington-Whitely for the Burberry Body shoot.
