This is an interesting colour. It's not quite brown or mauve but a nice blend of both and applies like a cool-toned dark nude. The name is a little misleading. This lipstick has a taupe-like quality that doesn't quite suit me, being MAC C7 with yellow undertones. It is a bit on the darker brown side so I like to mix it with a lighter nude like MAC Fresh Brew. The formula is similar to a satin and has a nice sheen to it. The packaging of the Colorburst line is very chic and appealing. I do not care for the paddle-shaped bullet. This lipstick is very comfortable but I think there are much better shades in the Colorburst line.

Although this isn't exactly cheap for a drugstore brand, it performs as well as high end lipsticks. Rich, smooth texture, admirable staying power, but the best quality is the super-saturated pigmentation. There is just so much color, making a little go a long way. It wears evenly, avoiding the dreaded lip outline, and blotting when applying makes it last even longer. My only complaint is the rounded, paddle shape of the lipstick. Due to the defined shape of my lips, I prefer lipsticks with a sharp point to allow for accuracy. I can work with this one, it's just not as easy to apply in a hurry. I really love the color swatch on the lid, making selecting the shade I'm after much easier than trying to read a label.
Calling this one Chocolate is a bit misleading, because on me it is just a few shades darker than my actual lip color. Cool tones look best with my extremely fair skin with dark hair, so I never thought something called chocolate would work. This lipstick came in a lot of other Colorburst shades that I purchased on Ebay, so I tried it out. Rather than being a real chocolate brown, this is really a darkish nude with a bit of mauve to it. I wear this when I'm going for neutrals, and it really works with my cool coloring. It does look pretty dark in the tube, but goes on kind of sheer with a subtle shine. This might just be one of those rare shades that looks good on just about everyone, and I will most definitely be buying it again.
