I really love this product. I used Clinique Liquid Extra Mild Facial Soap for years, however noticed that it left a filmy feeling on my face. I used this face wash while at a friends house and really enjoyed it; it has since been my go to face wash in the morning. It doesn't produce much of a foam, but it is very gentle, and cleans my face well without causing break outs or skin irritation like other face washes tend to do. it is a little bit more expensive than drug store brands, but I buy the big bottle, and it lasts me an entire year! I will continue to use this product.

Overall a nice enough cleanser for my dry skin. Not sure I would call it a foaming cleanser though. Definitely prefer Clarins foaming cleanser with cottonseed for serious foaming cleanser action. Dont get me wrong, this cleanser is nice enough and is gentle but just sort of left me underwowed but at least clean. No filmy residue or scent to speak of. If you want a plain basic cleanser this will work.

This product didn't wow me, but it seems to do a decent job of cleaning my skin without irritating or overdrying. It doesn't really foam, and I didn't notice any particular improvements with my skin. I would still probably buy it again if I don't find something better..

A good soap-free cleanser- have been using this for about 2 years. I like that is has no scent and does foam a bit unlike other soap-free products. I use this every day in the evening after removing my makeup with a wipe. I use cetaphil in the morning, but prefer the Khile's in the evening as I feel more confident that it is able to remove any left over makeup from the day.Although it is a bit expensive, a little product goes a long way which I appreciate.

Nice enough cleanser for morning use - a good one to keep in the shower. I agree with others that it would be much improved if it came in a pump dispenser or similar packaging to the Ultra Facial Cleanser (which is my night-time favourite)
Personally I do prefer something which foams a bit more for washing my face (and particularly if a product actually sells itself on its foaming abilities) so I won't be repurchasing this one, but I don't hate it and I would certainly recommend it to others.

Keep coming back. Would really prefer something without parabens, but every time I switch, I come back running. I've tried Burt's Bees, Cetaphil, Clarins, Neutrogena, but none clean as well without leaving a film or drying out my skin. This is my HG.

I bought this with a discount coupon, in place of my regular Clarins foaming cleanser. I was a little disappointed. It left, my normally oily skin a little dry and tight (not as dry as other cleansers out there). I should have spent the extra $5 on Clarins, that said, I'll be using it til it runs out. It's not a terrible cleanser, but it's not for my skin. Even though my skin is oily, I need something with a little more moisture.

This is a great product and I'm so happy I found it. I was a die-hard Philosophy Purity fan before I came across this. I have extremely acne-prone skin and I felt that Purity was stripping my face of its necessary natural moisture. I saw someone recommend this on the skincare board so I decided to give it a try. It doesn't cause breakouts, washes off my makeup and leaves my skin feeling comfortable!
I'm going to do a quick "how to" on this product:
At night, while your face is dry and still covered in makeup, put a dime size amount of product in your hand and gently massage into skin (no water!). I even do it on my eyes. Then rinse! While rinsing it foams slightly and all your makeup will be gone...even waterproof eyeliner!

I was recommended this and given a sample from Kiehl's when they discontinued my Centella facial cleanser. It irritated my skin very badly and made it dry and red in patches and it made it feel like it was burning so I recommend for people with really sensitive skin to stay away from this one or at least get a few samples of this before buying.

Nice gentle cleanser. I do not notice much foaming at all, but that is fine because my skin is very dry and usually foaming cleansers leave my skin taut and stripped and uncomfortable. This does not. Not a fan of the bottle, it is hard to get product out, it would be so much nicer if this were offered either with a pump which would be my first choice or in an upside down tube like Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser. Will repurchase, it is not cheap but worth the money for me because my skin tolerates this so well.

I love this cleanser. I have very sensitive, eczema skin that is also clog-prone....a total PITA to take care of. I switched over to this stuff as my winter cleanser, and it's amazing. It actually adds moisture to my face while cleansing, rather than stripping it away. It's super-gentle, and doesn't make my face sting at all.
Also, I normally use an oil cleanser to remove all my MU before this, but my two female roommates use this cleanser as well, and told me that it would remove ALL of my makeup. I wear MAC Pro Longwear foundation, which is very hard to remove, but I took their advice and only cleansed with this last night. It seriously removed all of my makeup. I even cleansed a second time to make sure there would be no makeup residue, and there wasn't. Great product, also for what you get I find the price to be very reasonable. Good packaging, too.

Does not remove make-up at all. I even washed my face a second time with this cleanser, and there was STILL a residue of makeup left on my face. It was non-drying and very gentle, but if it doesn't clean your face, what's the point?

I like my facial cleanser to foam and this does not foam...at all. It's just one step away from using plain water to clean your face. I'm glad I bought only a small bottle. It just doesn't seem to do anything. And it's not that cheap so I'm very disappointed.

This product is awesome because i have sensitive skin and need a mild gentle cleanser. It doesn't over dry my skin like a foaming cleanser would. I use this gentle cleanser in the morning and switch out with the acai damage minimizing cleanser at night. The reason i use it only in the morning is because its gentle but i don't feel like it fully cleanses/takes off my makeup or dirt in the evening.
But yes speaking from a person who has super sensitive skin this product is great for that. No rashes, no hives, just a mild cleanser.

Like Cetaphil, only better!
Yes, I got really annoyed when I first put it on and it didn't FOAM....Darn "foaming facial cleanser...."
I used cetaphil for years, its the softest, most gentle thing you can possibly use and i have VERY sensitive skin. This stuff is just awesome. Nuff said.
Buy the LARGE bottle and save a few bucks. Lasts a long time!

I was taken in by all the positive reviews, but I was very unhappy with this product, which made my skin do very weird, terrible things. I should've looked up the ingredients before I used it--too many chemicals, some of which (says wikipedia at least) are of questionable safety. I'm disappointed that kiehls can't manage to use more natural ingredients, less twenty-syllable chemicals. I do love the packaging though--I'm a sucker for kiehls packaging.
for those who need a gentle cleanser, I recommend beeceuticals (made from tea, honey, lemon, rosemary, etc). nothing creepy in their products.

I am a huge Kiehls fan. Over the years I've tried tons of beauty products. Kiehls is no frills, and gets the job done perfectly! It doesn't hurt the ingredients are great too!! The Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser goes on like silk, it doesn't foam up, it clears away all the impurities and when you rinse it off your skin feels amazing, and your complexion looks clear and radiant. It doesn't dry you out or make your skin fell taut at all, but it is important to moisturize afterwards, I like moisturizing with Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream, after that I'm glowing!! Kielhs really does make great products.
