this cleanser does not take off makeup! i always test new cleansers by using a toner on a cotton pad after cleansing...and most cleansers do a good job but this one failed. traces of makeup came off on the cotton pad and i had to go back and cleanse my face again with a different cleanser. this will be a good morning cleanser or for people who do not wear makeup.

Works well for me as a spot treatment, but irritates my dry and sensitive skin when used as an all-over mask or daily cleanser. I gave it to a friend who has very oily skin and she loves it.

This cleanser is a very good quality product. I love the fact that it cleanses the skin well without stripping the skin and/or leaving the skin feeling tight. While it is on the pricier side, a little amount goes a long way. One tube lasted me over 6 months with daily use. I also think that the excellent ingredients helped to keep my skin clear. I highly recommend this product.

This is a good cleanser, and I really like that it does double duty as a clay mask as well. When used as a cleanser, it has a creamy sort of texture that cleanses well. I use it after I've removed my make up. It's a pretty good clay mask too that isn't overly drying, but I can still see the little spots of oil it draws out from my pores, especially around the nose. I've also used it as a spot treatment to dry out pimples. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the blemish. I've repurchased this several times already since it's a good multi-function product. Even my husband likes to use it as a cleanser. My only wish was that it had less or no menthol. I don't think it's necessary and I think for sensitive skin it might be overpowering.

U would think a clay cleanser would be more gritty! But no, it's creamy and comfortable texture-wise even for dry/ dehydrated skin. It doesn't lather much but goes on gently and rinses without stripping. I like it more as a mask because it acts like a clay mask but feels like a hydrating mask. Skin is brighter, smoother, and overall feels clean. Not sure how it's helped with breakouts as of now. Only gripe I have is the addition of menthol. I heard the old formula didn't have this. I feel that while the cooling effect is refreshing, as a mask it felt really really cool and unnessecary in my opinion. Will repurchase because it's one of the better clay masks I've tried.

I hope Naruko improves the design on their packaging!
Other than the superficial, I love the concept of Naruko and how affordably it provides suitable skin care for all types using natural ingredients. Their website gives complete skin care information, including instructions for facial massage, and the sequence of applying their various products.
This clay cleanser doubles up as a five-minute clay mask for problem areas. The menthol in it is said to lower the temperature of the skin to prevent inflammation. I find that after a peel-off mask, this does remove whatever impurities remain. But I've yet to see the long term benefits of using it every night. I still get clogged pores and blackheads, but if I use it twice a day I will start to peel.

This product is AMAZING for clogged pores. I only use this at night and this seriously gives me a really good deep clean! I get congestion around my jaw, chin and cheeks and when I use this most of the congestion disappears overnight. The only downside to this product is that it burnt my lips!. I think it was the peppermint in this product which caused the burning sensation. My lips were chapped for days, so if you have sensitive skin like me then I would avoid putting this anywhere near your lips!

I love this facial wash. I use this am and pm. In the morning I use this as usual cleanser, and at night after removing all my make up, I apply this all over my face as a mask, leave it for about 5 mins then wash it, and I get that very clean feeling on my face.
It stings a little when I apply it as mask, but doesn't irritate me. It does its job for deep cleansing. Try it !

Yay! I'm glad someone posted a review for this. This is hands-down the best cleanser for oily/acne skin or when you need some deep cleansing. It's great because you can use it three different ways. First, just as a regular cleanser. Second, as an overall face mask or spot treatment post cleansing. Third way is my favorite, massaging it on at the beginning of my shower and letting it sit on my face while I wash my body, exfoliate, shave, etc. The steam from the shower combined with the clay and the active ingredients is like a mini spa treatment.
Costs about $16 USD from Naruko US but I think it's worth it as I have yet to find another clay cleanser that has multiple purposes and really helps unclog my pores and reduce oil without stripping or drying my skin. Absolutely a repurchase and highly recommended even if you'll use it once in a while.

I love this cleanser. It's cheap, smells great, feels great. It's about $199NT if you buy it in Taiwan at Watson's or on naruko.com.tw so it's about the same price as an American drugstore cleanser. It's great for acne prone skin because it helps to keep skin matte. Because of the refreshing tea tree smell it's great to use both day and night; in the day I'll use it with my fingers and at night I use it with my Clarisonic Mia. It gives the face a cool tingly sensation and makes skin feel really clean. I'll definitely repurchase :)
