I used to use Clinique skincare since the age of 18, and after 10 years of usage never bothered to change coz my skin was acceptable although I do have a fair amount of freckles. After reading reviews on SK2 Cellumination essence ex I decided to take a brave step to go all the way out for SK 2 despite the steep price. Noticed considerable changes in my skin, brighter and more even skin tone in just days after usage, comparatively to Clinique which I have used over 10 years and no difference..now I'm on my 2 nd bottle of Cellumination essence ex and also using the toner, and facial treatment essence as well to achieve better results...oh, n freckles actually become lighter too! I have tried soo many products in the past for my freckles and none worked before. Love this product. Now I use it twice a day on face and neck, it's been 3 months now and must say I am very pleased with d glow of my skin. Definitiely going to stick to this for a long long time!

Found this to be a rather effective serum at brightening my skin and giving a nice glow. It has a really nice light texture that is easily absorbed, and doesn't cause any breakouts.

I would buy it again if the price wasn't so ridiculous. In the meantime, I found Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance serum to be a much cheaper and adequate alternative.

I have been using SK-II for almost 2 years, and of all the SK-II product, Cellumination line are total let down for me. This cellumination essence and cream, the packaging is beautiful, but the product somehow rubs together on my skin, and ball into white particles like eraser. It would NOT absord into skin. The more I rub the product, the more it clings to each other, and makes my skin look like im peeling off a mask. I have used the product right after cleansing, right after exfoliating, still the product clings to each other and leaves my skin with what only looks like peel off mask debris. I still love all the other SK-II products. I LOVE their clear lotion, FTE, signs cream, oil cleanser and creamy cleanser, signs eyecream, and whitening source essence. I'm just going to stick to whitening source for dropper essence instead of cellumination. Only Cellumination is fail for SK-II for me.

i got this product and a few others for my 16th birthday from my parents and I totally loved it the very first few trials! It really made my skin glow (even from afar) but then I noticed a few pimples here and there which weren't very familiar. but then again, my skin looks so good every time i wear this! even though i DO get a few pimples here and there, i think i can manage it!

This review is for the upgraded version of the cellumination essence - the cellumination essence EX. the ex version claims to even-out skin tone and gives a highly defined aura skin even up-close at 20cm.

first of all this essence is very expensive. it hasn't rolled out yet in australia, but on strawberrynet it is selling at AU$225 for 50ml. I asked my mum to buy it from the SKII counter at HongKong airport, and it is retailing at HK$1230 for a 50ml bottle, which is equivalent to AU$160.

i have only started to use the essence for less than a week so i have no idea how long it will last. the instruction tells you to use it twice daily one pump each time for face and neck, and then another pump for highly problematic areas.

in terms of packaging, the bottle is very pretty but heavy. it comes with a pump so you can control the amount of product you use and it is very hygienic.

in terms of its effectiveness, so far, i can see some 'see-able' improvements. i use as directed (always use as directed. dun try to save product by using less as you can hardly see the results before you give up) and i can already see my skin glows after each application. it absorbs almost instantly and gives a hydrated, smooth and soft finish. i am trying to see the overall effectiveness of SKII products, so i stop using my other babies and focus on only using SKII products for now. after face wash and the facial treatment essence, i apply this, then followed by the signature cream. so far this routine has given me smooth and glowing skin with less oiliness. i cant tell whether it has lightened my freckles as yet, but it definitely gives my skin that natural beautiful glow after only 4 days of usage. i am still waiting to see any long-term effects of this product, particularly relating to lightening up freckles and dark spots etc. will update in a month's time.

by the way, i also find a great way of applying the SKII signature cream. before, i just spread the product onto my face with my fingers, but i always found the cream a bit sticky and took a long time to absorb. now what i do is to scoop a pearly-sized amount onto my middle finger tip, then rub the cream for a few seconds by using my middle and ring finger tips on my two hands. this will warm up and melt the product. then i use my finger tips and pat the cream all over my face until the cream is absorbed. i find this method much more easier and quicker to absorb. i also do the same when applying my bb cream. the bb cream stays on smoother and longer this way.

This, and the facial treatment essence is the holy grail for my oily skin. Love the non oily texture of the essence. And half way thru the bottle I'm so bright n fairer I decided to limit my usage to only at night!

Best treatment ever !!!!! My skin feels so much softer, smoother and brighter after using this. Brilliant product. Although I couldnt repurchase this after my 1st bottle (coz it's too expensive), I will be buying it again soon :)

I tried a sample before buying and tried a full bottle applying twice daily after cleansing/toning routine. Its supposed to bring out radiance and makes your face appears brighter and clearer. I dont see any of these results.

before im use cellumination essence im try kihels vit c serum, if im use khiels my skin feel warm and moist but my redness still there. first time im try Cellumination Essence my face feeling more glow, my redness its reduce. i dont know this pruduct will working with my acne because im just try 1 day.. i hope not make my skin break out. im just use this on the night, like the SA said. coz im affraid my skin look so oily if im use in the morning. i know this is expensive serum, i hope this product will well on me. i will give the latest update after 2 week using

Oh how I wish I had the budget to use this product every day! I bought this serum from Sasa.com after seeing Michelle Phan using it a while back in one of her skincare videos. I must say this is the absolutely best serum in terms of smoothing and whitening! It makes my skin darn near flawless and believe me, I normally have my fair share of skin issues. I only use it for special occasions to make it last longer, but if I used it everyday, I probably wouldn't need to use any foundation as it is wonderful for evening out skintone.

If anyone has a dupe, please share!!!!!

This is the 3rd product which I am currently using from the SKII brand.

Works relatively well on me. I feel that the skin texture is nicer and glowier as well. Thumbs up!

Although I do have pimples popping up on the second day of using it, I believe these are pimples which resulted from my retin-a (clearing of the clogged pores) and not the products. I do have to say the effect is not too bad. Brighter skin!

The skin looks oily upon application but once absorbed, there is no oil film left behind unlike the rest of the essence/masks. And the skin is really smooth to touch although the shine doesnt disappear even though the essence has been absorbed.

The downside is it is really expensive. And perhaps you have to use their toner (such as clear lotion) and the famous facial treatment essence to see the results. This works out to be quite a sum.

This product is a basic serum consisting of water, vitamin B, coconut and rice bran oils and a tiny bit of pit era. The whitening component is most likely due to the relatively high levels of vitamin B which has been shown to be very effective whitener at high concentrations. The pearly consistency and instant 'glow' is due to boron nitride. A fine mineral powder used in high end cosmetics to give 'glow' without sparkle. Pretty similar to mica but finely milled enough so you don't notice it as obviously sitting on your skin.

Is it a high quality product? What you are getting for your money is artful formulation and probably a good dose of topical vitamin B. However in terms of content it's not a lot different to Olays regenerist line, it's just got better packaging and costs 6 times the price. It will hydrate and 'may' help with pigmentation as much as any niacinimde product will. It will also cover your skin is an extremely fine and natural layer of boron nitride so you can skip the illuminator.

Very watery and runny texture. Did not notice a difference in skin. I have been using all sk2 products- treatment essence, eye cream, signature cream, facial lotion etc and this is by far the most disappointing.
I don't know what it does its just super expensive and bottle with the drop handle is great packaging.
Other than that it was a complete waste of money and waste of a step in skincare. It's just too much for sk2 skincare regime. Cleanser, facial treatment lotion, facial essence, cellumination essence, eye cream and signature cream.... Just too much.
Will not re purchase.

YES!!!! The serum of my dreams. I started off with the matching cellumination cream, which I loved immediately. I saved up to splurge on the essence and so happy that I did. This is a hydrating serum so the consistency is thicker and slightly sticky on application. I've found it to absorb better if I apply a toner beforehand (or the SKII Facial Treatment Essence). Like the cream, the essence has a pearlescent gleam to it, so it gives the same effect to the skin. Over the last month of using the two together, I've found this and the cream to give my skin a luminosity that appears to radiate from the inside out. It's not just a surface shine, but a true glow like I've just had the best exfoliating and hydrating facial of my life. I haven't had to wear foundation in the last month - just a dab of concealer around my eyes. This is truly an amazing product.
