I use this on the upper waterline, working it into the lashes from below. I have droopy lids, so using a regular eyeliner just ends up looking like I have black shadow on when my eyes are open, so this technique is the answer. The liner goes on so smoothly and is darkly pigmented. It also stays in my lash line all day.

The only drawback I've had is that it broke when I tried to sharpen it, but I've ordered a new sharpener, so hopefully that will make a difference.

I have both black and brown perfection. The black is my new HG eyeliner. It's more than comparable to UD 24/7 or MUFE's eyeliner--when it's on I can't tell the difference. The black pigment is a bit darker/richer with NYX, and I can do multiple swipes without the liner getting crumbly or pulling on itself. Once it sets it wears a bit better than either HE eyeliner--less smudging or wearing off at the corner of my eyes (my eyes tend to water a bit sometimes). I hate to be so cliche, but slide-on eye pencils go on like softened butter. Since they are so soft I do tend to re-sharpen each time I use these. Because the eyeliner wears so well I don't see that as much of a negative. It does smudge easily before it sets--so if you're wanting a clean line don't touch it. If you want a smudge-y looks it'll do that as well.

In short: awesome color selections and awesome staying power. Best eyeliner I've used at any price.

i was so excited to try this product after i've read some glowing reviews about this. unfortunately, it didnt perform well on me. it smudges after 4-6 hours of wear. but, this glides on like butter. no tug or pull at all. it also does not fade for a full work day (12 hours). i just couldnt stand the smudging.

This product isn't TERRIBLE but it isn't good.

I have very hooded eyelids and it definitely is not as waterproof as it claims. It wears throughout the days and smudges on me pretty bad, maybe not as bad as other pencil liners ... but pretty bad. I also don't like how when it smudges you can tell its one of those blacks on the more blue-side which personally looks unflattering (that's being EXTREMELY picky though). I also don't like how you can't twist it to get more product, I will have to separately buy a pencil sharpener for this eyeliner if I want to use more of it (which I don't).

It is very creamy though and easy to apply. Would probably work for people who have prominent double eyelids and don't have to worry about smudging so much.

I heard so much about NYX that I went crazy at an Ulta sale and got 15 items to try out the line. I have hooded Asian eyes so DEEPEST DARK BLACK and no smudge are a must. I love UD liners as well as a few Shu Uemura ones but am always searching for a blacker or newer color.

First, the color is very deep black so had high hopes for this liner. Goes on creamy and easy to push into the base of lashes. But even though I set it with NYX, MAC, UD, or Nars shadow, this liner smudges nonstop. I even blotted underneath the lashes and heavily powdered under my lower lash line to try to prevent becoming a racoon intermittently throughout the day. No such luck. Even Skindivania setting spray doesn't prevent the fading and smudging.

I do like the color and it's so affordable that I am loathe to give up on them. But having tried Black and Gunmetal colors, I can say I have to retreat back to UD.

May be a good liner if you have more "upturned" lids. By the way, I have permed lashes so I know it's not creeping down my lashes like eyeliners tend to do on straight lashes.

Help yeah I would buy this again I love it!! Plus I might actually finish this eyeliner I. I have had this for about 6 months and I am about half way down now. I might actually finish it off and I have never done that with a black before. I usually end up trying something else. Also when I wear this on the water line . I dont get a huge black eye booger like I have with other black liners lol.

THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST PENCIL LINER I HAVE EVER USED. love urban decay's 24/7 liner in zero? THIS IS EVEN BETTER. it is so extremely pigmented- a true, matte, dark black. It glides on like butter to my waterline / tight line and stays put ALL DAY. don't waste 20 bucks on the UD one , this is so much better!! I got it at ULTA for about $7.

It is a great product for people who are looking for dark black eye pencil. It lasts 4 to 5 hours long.

i wish i had the amazing experience everyone else did with this liner. yes, it's jet black, butter smooth, and easy to apply. but it faded away from my upper lid quickly, and migrated within an hour from my waterline to my lower lid (much faster than other eyeliners have done in the past). essentially, i looked like a melodramatic raccoon within two hours of leaving my house. le sigh.

Oh my gosh. HG black eyeliner. Before I found this I used Tarte emphasEYES amazonian clay gel liner, but that was in a pot and it took work to get a precise line and not to mention that it is very expensive. This is basically that in a pencil. The are definitely UD 24/7 liner dupes. The color range of these is incredible. This is pigmented-VERY! I like the creaminess and the ease to put this one. It literally take less than a minute to do both eyes. This doesn't smudge AT ALL! It lasts all day on the waterline, which most pencil liners don't(I'm looking at you Estee Lauder!) I absolutely love it and will be getting more colors!

I have several of these but the jet black was the one that sold me because it's a dark black liner that actually stays on my waterline for a good 10-12 hours. If definitely lasts during my work shift and usually a little bit longer. I recently just bought a second one because i have such good results with the first one. I'm still testing out other colors, so I will review those next.

YAY! I had heard so much about this product- and i was super excited to try it out. When I tested it out at ULTA I fell in love. The formula glid(?) on so smoothly, and i hardly needed any pressure at all to get a solid black line.
The drawback is that it's not a pencil that can be sharpened- so if you're someone like me who uses black eyeliner every day, this pencil might last you two weeks. I bought an ULTA brand black eyeliner pencil, granted it was not nearly a good of a product as this, but it lasted me like- six months. I now use the black for special occasions, and use a different one for every day. An excellent product though! Very nice NYX!

This, by far, is the BEST eyeliner i have ever used. My eyes are naturally super watery so finding a stayput liner for my waterline is a challenge. I was looking for a creamy pigmented liner and stumbled across this one. At eight bucks a pop it isnt the cheapest drugstore liner but not terribly priced either. When i tried this on i was hoping for it to stay on for a few hours with some touch-ups due to my watery eyes. But when i tried this out i was SHOCKED. First off, when you swatch it on your hand it goes on like butter. Its jet black with just one swipe. If you immediately run your finger over it its gonna smudge like crazy. But if you let it set for a few seconds its not gonna got ANYWHERE. This stuff stayed on my waterline ALL DAY with no smudging. It didnt even fall down to my lash line, which is something that happens witg any pencil, gel, ir liquid i've used. This stuff is AMAZING in simplest words and u cant stop raving about it. Im planning on buying it in every color too!!

I was a little worried after reading the review from below. I did experience some discomforting sensation, BUT I have very sensitive eyes that are red and irritated all the times. It would be unfair for me to contribute my irritation to this liner because I simply don't know.

I found this liner to be the best of all the black pencil liners I've tried so far. To me, it is better than MUFF Aqua Liner in 0L or MAC Engraved. I have not tried Urban Decay 24/7 which is often being compared to. NYX Jet Black is extremely black, very creamy, and very long lasting. Since it's very creamy, you have to be very careful when applying. I can see it can look harsh on some people because it's so intensely black. You have to wait a bit for it to dry, then it pretty much lasts all day, no smearing or smudging.

I really like this liner and decided to try other colors. I really hope I don't experience any irritation with them. I found them at beautyjoint.com for $6.99 when they were having a sale. At this price and the quality, I think they are HG for me.
UPDATE: I ruled out that these pencils caused my eyes' irritation. I love these so much, I bought 5 different colors.

I wish I could join in on all the good reviews for this product. I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience!
Let me start by saying I normally don't have sensitive eyes or skin, and I don't think I've ever reacted to a product other than this one. As soon as I put it on, my eyes started to water and burn. I've had this happen before, but it's always gone away. Not with this liner! After about a half hour it made my eyes water and burn so badly that I had to take it off. When I put on my eye makeup remover, it felt like fire in my eyes! My eyes were red and puffy all day, and even now 14 hours later, I still have a headache from the irritation.
As far as the application and the quality, I definitely don't think it's as good as the UD 24/7. I didn't find that this went on nearly as smoothly, and it really gummed up in my lashes, resulting in clumpy mascara.
I bought 4 of these in the hopes of finding a cheaper dupe for my favorite UD pencils, but sadly, I will be returning them. They do come in a great range of colors!

A lot of great product for a really low price is what I'll count this as. The black is a hard-on black (no weakness here, nope!) which glides onto my eye and then it stays there. Period. Okay, if I attack it after applying it and smudges it so it becomes a smokey eyes, THEN it moves. But when it's there it freaking stays on forever (I had problem removing it with normal make-up remover and had to go with the waterproof one) and won't fade in colour.

If you like eye pencil from Urban Decay, you would love these. They are exactly the same texture: creamy and pigmented, long lasting (took me a few try to remove with my eye makeup remover, (the purple one is identical to UD Ransom). It is expensive for a NYX product, but compare to UD, it is a steal.

I got one and was so impressed by it, I ended up getting it in every color.

I am loving the NYX Slide On pencils right now. I first bought 4 from Ebay since NYX is not available where I live. I've just bought another 3.
Jet Black is a very dark black and can look harsh. I trace a soft line and it dries quickly and sets. What I love about the Slide On pencils is that they don't smudge or smear. I live in a very hot and humid country and I sweat easily when I'm outdoors. This pencil though stays put. It beats any MAC eye pencil hands down. The only HE ones that come close or better are Stila's waterproof smudge sticks and Smashbox Limitless. Even MUFE's aqua liners smudge on me and they're terribly expensive.
Note that I do not use this on the waterline or lower lid. Nor do I tightline. But for the upper lids, it works fine. Smooth and no tugging or pulling.

I was really excited about trying this product, but I honestly hate it so much. I tired to use it on my lower lash line it looked harsh, messy and it smudged so easily. It was almost too soft, so it didn't give a good, clean line. This is the worst eyeliner I've ever tried and it does not compare at all to my favorite MAC Powerpoint eye pencil or even drugstore eyeliners like Covergirl Liquiline Blast.
