The curl enhancing smoothie is not good for type 4 natural ladies I have a friend that is 3c and it works well for her but for my 4a/b ladies you may want to use the JBCO line its great for kinky hair types that lack natural shine. I love shea moisture but i will not repurchase anything from the coconut and hibiscus line those products just don't work well enough for my 4a hair for the money spent.

I'm caucasian with 2b/2c hair type. I was worried this product wouldn't work as it's focused more towards ethnic hair in the 4a-4c category. However, I gave it a shot and I was very impressed! My curls are much more defined rather than being frizzed out puffs. I love this and definitely would purchase again. :)

I have thick wavy hair, and this product did not absorb, but sat heavily on my hair. It gave no slip. I will just use it has a hair wax to tame flyaways

I really really love this stuff. I am white, and I was worried that this would not work for my hair since some of their products are geared towards ethnic hair but this works amazingly for me. I have very thick, dry, and wavy hair and this stuff helps control frizz, helps define waves, acts as a leave-in conditioner, and makes my hair sooo soft, and it smells amazing. I bought the big tub but I would recommend buying the smaller tube since the tub takes up a lot of space and will take forever to go through. One thing you have to be careful about is not using too much, my hair is very thick, and usually I can use a lot of product, but with this you have to use a very small amount, or else it will weigh down your hair and make it look greasy.

90% of the time, I wear my 2b, thick and dense LONG hair blown-out straight. It looks fabulou and I love it that way. But it takes at least 20 mins to do and sometimes I just don't want to deal. When I don't blow it out, I let my hair hair dry until it's a frizzy poof ball then I either braid it or wear it in a bun. Not so chic. I have tried many a curl product and sometimes my hair looks great at first, but once it fully dries, into a bun it goes. My curls honestly have made me feel very sad throughout the years and I wished so hard that it was naturally straight. But now I was determined to find a product that lets me wear my hair natural on those days that I just don't have time to blow dry it straight.

Enter: Shea Moisture Coconut & Hisbiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie + a diffuser!!! I am on day 2 and my hair looks AMAZING! I got the travel tube for $1.99 at Ulta and picked up a $15.00 diffuser as well. Washed my hair with CHI sulfate free shampoo and did a Shea Moisture hair masque. Put a decent amount of the cream on my hair, scrunched it, and diffused. It has never looked better!!! No frizz, defined curls, soft and shiny, and it weighs my hair down, which is a good thing for me because I have so much! I'm so happy I found something to tame my curls!!!!! If you have hair similar to mine (I'm Greek, 2b curls, THICK, coarse, dense, and LONG, like almost to my waist) do yourself a favor and pick this stuff up!!!!

Got a 3 Ounce travel tube of this at Ulta for my permed and color treated hair for $2. It's super thick and smells like a very sweet, legit smoothie. It keeps my curls smooth and frizz-free without weighing down my hair. I'll continue buying the travel tube of this just because I much prefer that to the original big jar this product comes in.

you can use this product for your leave in and as a cream, i love it makes my hair really defined and it smooths my cuticles down, you have to play with how much you really need in your hair though to much can my my hair feel overly moisturized and tacky i have 4a 4b fine hair high porosity hair, and my hair loves protein.

I'm Caucasian and have very fine 2a/2b hair but a lot of it.

That said, I love this stuff. I don't mix it with anything as other reviewers have, I just scoop a small amount from the jar, rub between my palms for a few seconds, then scrunch through my hair from ends up but staying away from the roots. The result is soft, defined curls with plenty of movement.

I've been using this for about 2 weeks now and have had no issues (I wash my hair every 3rd day) and my hair is usually sensitive to protein, but this stuff is proving to be the exception.

Seeing as I only use a small amount, the jar will last me a few months at least, but I will most likely repurchase when done.

This is my holy grail moisturizer for my 4b/4c hair. It leaves my hair very soft and moisturise. It smells pretty good too. I use it as the C in my L.O.C. method to misturize my hair.

I bought this stuff on a whim the other day and then later found out that it's geared more towards ethnic hair. I'm white as can be so I was worried it might not work with my hair type, but let me tell you.... this stuff is amazing. I feel anyone with wavy or curly hair can use this. It softened my curls and even accentuated them and just made my hair texture look so beautiful and shiny. It smells amazing too. I would highly recommend this stuff! Very impressed. 👍🏻

Edit: after using it more and more I'm finding that it's just not working for me. The first couple times I used it I loved it and now it's just meh. Used it today and my hair was a frizzy/greasy mess. Not going to continue using.
