I really want to love Hourglass products but the packaging, while always adorable, is always the downfall of the products.
I bought this product with high hopes. I am a liner/mascara girl. I long drag queen eyes and the blacker the better. A saw this product in Sephora and decided against it, then turned around before I got in my car and decided I would not be able to live without it.
It was lovely- that first use- It did what everyone below said it was supposed to do.
But then when I went to put the wand back in the container it went WONKY (or WAND-ky) and never recovered.
Sadly, after that inital use the wand turned into two separate brushes that insisted on coating my lashes and my eyelid or, if i flipped it over, my lash and right below my eye.
Then about a month later it turned into thick black tar and couldnt even get itself off the brush.
Sorry Hourglass - love your font and you have good intentions but poor followthrough

I did like the result of this lash top coat, but it's way too much work for what it is. I also do not find it wears all that well and it runs after 2-3 hours if your eyelids are oily.
The optical result however is beautiful, you end up with shiney, intense black lashes. You do have to be careful to not clump them together. It looks beautiful in pictures but I find it is not really worth it for a daily use.

I picked this up impulsively after hearing so much about it on YouTube. I have long, full, dark brunette curled lashes already, so I was a bit skeptical. I only use this for going out at night for extra drama as it really is a dark, glossy black lacquer. For me, it works best over lengthening mascaras rather than volumizing mascaras. I also love this over false lashes for a really pumped up look. The tube closes tightly and securely so my product is still nice and creamy. Sometimes I do have to wipe off the little brush on the side of the tube as it can get goopy, but otherwise it's so simple to apply. Overall it's a great addition to a beauty arsenal, and one I will repurchase.

I really hate to be a spoiler on this one but I don't get it. The main difference I see when I apply this over my mascara is that my lashes are clumpy. I'm not getting the super-black patent finish that others seem to be. I gave it two lippies because it's innovative. Which is why I bought it in the first place (for $28!).

This was a frivolous and last minute purchase.
I was on my way to get something else and this peculiar item landed in my Sephora bag before I made it home.
I hadn't any hopes or expectations of this seemingly gimmicky item but have grown quite fond of what it does for my lashes for a night out.
It's like patent leather Loubies for my lashes.

This product is grate it make lashes extremely black, and gives length and volume the only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because to take it off is a nightmare, you"ll need a really good eye makeup remover and even then it will be hard to remove. Oh well the price of beauty!!!

Nifty little product that adds a little drama and flair to your lashes. The first time the sephora artist put this on me, it looked great. However, she dumped some product out on a sponge and painted each of my little lashes with this black goo using a separate flat horizontal eyeliner brush. It looked really good. When I brought the product home and try to apply it myself, it was a hard and not so pleasant. It takes some practice and getting used to the included brush . The stuff looks like oil or black tar, but it definitely gives a nice shiny effect. Coat some more on and you'll get spider looking lashes. Removing this stuff takes awhile. Be prepared with good eye makeup remover. It took me forever to wash it off.

yeah, this stuff is incredible. i put it on over lengthening mascara (it says not to use over thickening, maybe because that makes the lashes too heavy?) and it makes my lashes glossy and more defined and SUPER dark. they look fake and soo amazing. totally hooked! will buy again and again.

I love this product. I picked it up in sephora since I had a gift card and figured I had nothing to lose since the gift card can only be used to buy more makeup anyway. I tried it in the store and it looked good but everything looks good in the store. When I got home I applied it over my favorite Borguese mascara/Divaderme Lash Extender mix and it was some serious Knockout/ Babydoll false lashes. The plus was I worked a double shift that day and when I got home ready to remove my left over makeup,My makeup still looked good, it was still there just as when I had put it there the day before. No smudging or fall out or flaking as mascara can often do after a long night. I was so impressed the next time I pass Sephora I am going to pick up a backup tube. I never paid much attention to hourglass products before but after this one i am gouing to have to look at this line and see what other gems they have that I may have overlooked.

I bought this at sephora for 28.00 US $. I applied it to bare lashes and get the darkest blackest defined eyelashes I've ever had. My daughter uses it over her mascara and it does look amazing. This is is the deepest darkest black. I said I would buy it again and I will but I won't panic if I run out before stocking up. It's one of those kind of products when you have it you will love it, but if you should run out you won't have a meltdown before you can replace it.

I like to pair this with a mascara. It gives me the look of false lashes, without having to take glue to my eyelids. Think it gives a super glossy patent leather look up close. Neat product, always want to have one in my make-up drawer.

was not sure if i liked this at first. even after reading reviews on web was unsure how to apply. i discovered i like it best on a naked lash, swiped on each one quickly, run through with metal comb, and BOOM! major long lashes that are super dark. i do use careprost on my lashes a few times a week, so have length anyway, but this added even more...and the color dotted between lashes made up for volume. this is great product and not atvall as heavy as even one coat of normal mascara...and looks better with no smudging etc. bonus....this company is PETA approved :)
EDIT: discovered that using bare escentuals brushless mascara wand (that fits perfectly but cannot be twisted shut in the hourglass packaging) makes application a little easier.

This is a new product launch with Hourglass and truly the first of it's kind on the market. I got this product for free, as I work as a trainer with Hourglass, but I would gladly purchase this. It retails for $28, which is a little pricy, but for the effect this gives, it's totally worth it. It's a BEYOND dark, glossy topcoat for lashes. The effect it gives my lashes is totally worth it -- I tend to keep my makeup pretty minimal for myself, mostly a good base, brows, mascara, and a little bronzer, so, this amps my lashes up to the next level. For now, it's a Sephora exclusive product, so, definitely check it out.
