The people with the bad reviews probably didn't use the product properly. You should only apply enough to make your face has a slight white cast, but you can definitely layer it, just in small amounts. It works really well for big pimples! If I have a bad breakout I put lots of this on it and leave it on overnight and wash it off when I wake up and it reduces the size and the colour of the pimple. Smells good too!

I like this product. Because of the yarrow, yes it does sting a bit at first, so definitely use pre exfoliating or deep cleansing, and I'd say yes, it is likely to irritate those with sensitive skin, as mine is not, but I do still experience the stinging. I find I need quite a bit to nicely cover my face, but that does tend to be personal preference if anything. Leaves my skin lovely and smooth, and lives up to its claim of purifying pores. As I am in NZ, everything is overpriced, so since this brand is Australian, obviously it is cheaper to come by then ones that have to be imported from farther away, so I find it to be a comparatively good price

This product really stings and irritates my skin! It made it extremely red and peely. If you have sensitive skin, please skip this product.

Warning: first time you apply it, it stings. Stings quite a bit xD
Of course I didn't want to throw it away so as I kept using it, that stinging feeling became less noticeable and now I can use it without any discomfort. But you do need to go through the stinging/tingling/burning sensation at first.

Personally I really like how it leaves my skin afterwards. Really soft and my pores do look "cleaner". If you're female who suffers from hormonal breakouts, I feel that it's quite a nice product to use before my period comes. Seems to stop the pimples from forming!

Overall I like this product. It's true that the stinging feeling at first isn't nice but if you manage to go through it, it gives nice result for the price (at least in my country it's on the cheaper side). Now I feel like trying the "Detox" one, which has better reviews!

Today was the first time I've used this product. After viewing all of these reviews about it burning, I was a bit worried. I read the directions carefully and applied a thin layer all over my face. And... there was NO burning. Maybe some people's skin are very sensitive to this specific product, but my skin is usually sensitive too. I just made sure I applied a thin layer and not a lot. Maybe that's the difference? It smelled really good too, and after I washed it off my face felt like it had a nice cleanse.

It's only day one of many of this product, but so far so good! I'm just glad it doesn't burn like people claim that it does. I suggest applying a thin coat first, and if that goes well, maybe adding more if there hasn't been any improvement. I will probably had a little bit of a thicker layer just to be sure my skin is getting the full effect.

I tried the small packets, so I can't comment too much on the full-sized packaging. But I'm surprised by the reviews here! I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and this did not irritate me at all. I didn't notice any burning or redness during application or after removing the mask. It actually left my skin extremely smooth and my pores are now noticeably smaller. It also helped me extract a couple of stubborn blackheads afterwards, normally difficult after using the Mint Julep mask, for example. I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Pros:
-does not irritate
-smooths skin and minimizes pores
-brings acne to surface
-pretty lilac color when dry

Cons:
-difficult to wash off
-leaves skin feeling dry

This burned my face and left my skin red-looking for a long time even after rinsing it off. I guess I liked the fact that it contained salicylic acid, so it could reduce my breakouts. In the end, I decided to use this as a spot treatment and I only applied it on my zits, and that seemed to reduce them in size a bit. But I don't think I will buy this again.

I purchased a couple of the sample size sachets as I was going away for a couple of weeks. I've used the Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox mask before and have been pretty happy with the results of that one so I thought I'd give some of their other products a try.

Pros: The smell is lovely, smells like berries, so this is a big plus for me. The product goes on quite smoothly and can be evened out on your skin with little effort. I didn't have any of the stinging on my face that others have had. You really do only need a small dollip of this as a little goes a long way. Probably the size of a small lolly gum ball. This should be enought to do your face and neck.

Cons: It feels like its really any other mask. My skin did feel cleaner however I didn't think that it made that much difference to my pores.

That being said I think that this is a good 'CHEAP' alternative for those that want a regular mask to maintain their skin without forking out for the more expensive brands.

I tried the small size sachet. I handled the stinging at first, but it made my face red hot after I took it off. It did make it feel cleaner, but next day I woke up to see it had broken me out. I am not repurchasing it. It's put me off other Formula 10.0.6 products, too, which I guess is not fair, but my sensitive skin is red enough normally to try out other products that could make it worse. The packaging is really cute though, that's the only reason why I'm giving it more than a one.

It stings even if you apply a thin layer, please be careful around the eye area it seriously hurts. I do like the smell, and how it dries like a chalky, crackable mask. It takes some effort to wash off, but if used weekly (or twice weekly) does leave my skin smooth and clear, but a tiny bit dry. I like how thick it is, and the great colour makes me think it's got natural clay elements that assist the skin.

Bought this in the duo sachet form to test it out and I love it. It hurt the first time but I think it was because my skin was so filthy! After washing it off, I got this SUPER CLEAN feel like I could feel my pores breathe! I don't mind the tingling and the hardening of the mask; I think that's the fun part! Would like to try Deep Down Detox and compare though.

Like most of the comments, when i applied it, it stings on my face especially the skin near the nose area. What i do is to sit in front of a fan at top speed to reduce the stinging. After a while you'll get used to it.

I do feel a difference after washing. My skin feels cleaner and softer no doubt.

the tingly feeling is nice but can be a tad over powering sometimes

I really do like this product. I got it as a gift for christmas, and was quite curious because I've thought about buying a mud mask anyway. I've red the other reviews of it further down here, and the majority mention a "burning sensation". It does sting, BUT that is how it should feel because of the salicylic acid, which exfoliates your skin. It doesn't mean that you're allergic to it just because it stings! The "burning sensation" also means that the mask works as it should. If you don't like that kind of feeling, I'd say that you should drop buying the product. If you don't mind that feeling, I'd say buy, buy, buy! I feel that I does the job pretty well, and I'm quite picky about my skincare. I also have to mention that it smells incredibly yummy!

This is a mask that I like very much. I'd like to think it works better than their Deep down detox mask, at least that's how it feels anyway. I usually use one of Formula 10.0.6's masks at least least once a week. Usually either this one or the Deep down detox. But this is becoming more and more a favorite of mine. It smells good, it works well and my skin feels clearer after I've used it. And as it's on a tube it's cheaper to use this in the long run. Plus it's cheaper than most masks out there.

It does burn. It burns a lot more than the Deep down detox. But I like that. I'd like to think that means it works. I can't be sure of it of course. Due to that I'd say this isn't a product for everyone. It will probably work better for those with oily and acne prone skin, rather than people with sensitive or combination skin.

I experienced a burning sensation after applying the mask. Can't figure out which ingredient I'm sensitive to in this formula. Can't use it and won't be buying it again.

I had high hopes for this mask but the terrible burning sensation destroyed any chance of me liking this product. My skin is dry but not overly sensitive and after 2 minutes on my face the mask was unbearable, particularly around the nose and cheek area. I am now weary of trying any of their other products. If you are going to use this mask, test it on a small of area of your face first!!

I like this product and I use it regularly. Although I don't see significant differences in the size of my pores etc, I definitely felt like my skin had been deep-cleaned and refreshed and less oily. This is probably better for you if you have oily or combination skin, because as the previous reviewer noted, it tends to sting for the first 2 minutes or so, especially if you have dry skin (the product works by absorbing oil from your pores).

Loved the packaging and it comes at a reasonable price. I probably wouldn't repurchase it straight away though, because I'd like to try some of their other products. I wouldn't mind coming back to this mud mask in the future though.
