I can understand the following of this product now.

Pros:
-I really like the scent (its a chemically, citrus something--kind of vintage "old lady")
-contains 2% salicylic acid
-contains alcohol, which combined with the salicylic acid will exfoliate and kill any acne causing bacteria
-does contain allantonin (sp) which is a moisturizing agent
-like any astringent/toner with these ingredients it will remove anything off your face

Cons:
-drying despite the moisturizing agent

I'll update once I've used this product more. By as I see it right now its a typical toner/astringent and performs as such. Dont know if it has HG status for me--yet

EDIT: It can be too strong for some. I have sensitive skin so this toner kind of gave me a rash and irritated my skin a little.
I bought the Formula 10.0.6 Skin clarifying starter kit and it included the so totally clean deep pore cleanser. I'm guessing it's a toner that's very effective because I used it after cleansing my face and it took out the rest of my makeup and gunk on my face. Not only that the next day (I washed my face at night) my skin was literally looking more healthy, plump, and youthful. I didn't have the usual dry patches on my cheeks, the visible sebum on my nose area was noticeably reduced, my pores were smaller, and my skin just loved it!!! I thought I would break out because when I actually used it.. it stung and smelled like chemicals, I almost couldn't breathe. But other than the horrid smell and stinging... THE PRODUCT ACTUALLY DOES WHAT IT SAYS. CLEANS PORES!!

I, too, used to use this in the 60s when I was a greasy teenager. The smell is sweet evocative to me of those years; this was a good cleanser/toner & I'm happy to have it again. Takes off makeup and sunscreen well, is inexpensive, does the trick.

I HATED this product. I can't believe how terrible it is. I was disappointed when I tried some of this product by dabbing it on a cotton swab, and lightly wiping it across my cheek to remove my make-up, it -instantly- started to burn my skin and irritate it. I generally don't have overly sensitive skin, it is just on the dry side, but this stuff was terrible. It burned my face. I immediately stopped using it. What a waste of money. I also thought the smell was very bad. It smelled like chemicals, and was horrible to put on my face. WILL NOT buy again.

I ran out of toner and only had a bit of money so I went to the store and bought this. I've been using it as a toner. It's great as I have combo oily skin in the T zone. It has a weird orange smell though but you can't smell it after you use it so it's fine. It works well but I probably wouldn't recommend it if you have dry skin.

At first I really liked this "cleanser" (I used it as a toner though). It has a very strong orangy smell to it. I have combination skin, so I thought this would be perfect for me. It stung my face when I applied it and dried out my skin at some spots. So I read the ingredients list and noticed that almost half of the ingredients are either alcohol or perfume, hence the drying effect. Might aswell just rub ethanol on my face next time...

HG! HG! HG! I have extremely oily skin. Oil gets trapped deep in my pores causing closed comedones that are almost impossible to extract. Sexy, I know. I've tried many things to completely clean my face and get rid of makeup (numerous cleansers, wipes, Clarisonic, to name a few). Those worked fine for me,but I still had some breakouts. I think my skin might have reacted to some chemicals on the wipes and maybe bacteria on the Clarisonic brush. So Totally Clean is 10x better. After washing with Cetaphil, I put this stuff on a cotton ball and wipe my makeup off. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times because I want to make sure there's nothing left. The cotton balls turns brown!! My skin feels 100% clean and fresh but not dry and irritated. It's not like a toner that leaves your face tight. The formula is just right, I even apply topical acne treatment right after with no problem. It has decreased the oil on my face and helped keep my acne under control. Give it a try, It's inexpensive and if you have very oily skin this might be the right cleanser for you.

i am extremely pleased with this product. first, let's get the shallow reason out of the way: i like the packaging of the relaunched 10.0.6 products.

this cleanser does its job wonderfully and removes makeup no sweat. with other cleansers, i have to wipe my face clean twice before removing makeup completely, but i find that this one does it at half the time.

i have dry skin and i was quite hesitant to use this because astringents tend to make my skin feel too tight. i imagine this cleanser can overdry some people's skin, but i haven't tried using this on its own. i always moisturize immediately after. and i don't use face wash before i use this product. i've never had a problem with it then.

will certainly repurchase.

I love this product! I was skeptical, as some of the reviews made this product sound like a terrible buy, but I really like the Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturizer, so I thought I'd give this a go. After cleansing my face, I poured a decent amount of this product onto a cotton pad and wiped it all over my face, paying special attention to my T zone and jaw line. Because I read that this product is drying, I put a layer of Vaseline on as a moisturizer after. I went to bed, and upon waking up, I saw a noticeable difference in redness of blemishes. I have continued using this product, and the few pimples that I had have since disappeared, and there are no new blemishes developing! I am very pleased with this formula, and would definitely buy again.
I haven't noticed any increased dryness or tightness, even when using my regular moisturizer. The bottle is easy to use, and there is a ton of product, so I won't need to buy more for a while, which is great.

I have combination skin that usually breaks out in the summer and dries out in the winter. I've been using this product almost every night before bed and have had great results. I don't think I'll be using it in the winter, because it is strong. I would have given this 5 stars except I am not a fan of the smell. It is really strong when you first apply it.

I was thrilled to find my old favorite back on the market. I used to purchase gallon jugs with a pump dispenser to fill the smaller bottles. It removed makeup very well, exfoliated and moisturized all in one produce.
I tried the re-released product tonight and it seems almost like the old original but not quite as concentrated and moisturizing. Perhaps, a bit watered down; the color is definitely lighter. Still, I am very pleased how it removed my mineral makeup and left my skin feeling soft. Do not be put off by the alcohol content as the allantoin and other ingredients offset any dryness (do not rinse). I found it at Ulta. for $5.99/6.75 oz. bottle. I will edit as I continue its use. EDIT: down almost half a bottle and am still pleased with its performance.

I have acne prone skin & this made me break out BAD - I went on a streak of having the best skin in my life right before I started using this. :-( So disappointed, love the mask ! Its not a cleanser more like a toner - the alcohol did not bother my skin where dryness is concerned. IT MADE ME BREAK OUT REALLY BAD. :-(

I still have any empty container from when this was sold as Bonne Bell 10.0.6 years ago.

I used to buy it by the gallon - truly. In the 60s I always carried a small travel bottle in my cosmetic bag and would use it at work, after lunch, to clean my oily skin that I had back then. It would not disturb my eye makeup. I'd just reapply my foundation and was set for the rest of the day. It also came in handy when I was going out after work and wanted to freshen my makeup.

Never went anywhere without it.

Probably too drying for my skin today, but if your skin tends to be oily and need a quick clean up at work or when traveling, this is great.

so far i love it, i use it as either my wash, or after the wipes they sell to make sure i get all my makeup off.

only reason i give it a 4 is because im not sure if its breaking me out or the monistat im using as my primer... i started using them both the same time.

but overall i like it

This is the Bonne Bell 10.0.6 lotion from my distant past. I always loved it, and the scent is powerfully evocative of my teenage years. I use it to remove the morning's shine before putting on ce ferulic and sunscreen. My skin can be sensitive and in those periods I won't use it, but for now it's a great prep. Also good for removing oil prior to chemical peels.

This stuff smells great, a sweet floral, and it works pretty well. Does what it says it does. One of the best astringents I've ever used and I would recommend it to anyone with acne and oily skin.

I know this is marketed as a "cleanser", but I use it as a toner since the directions say to just soak a cotton pad and wipe away. This is quite strong since it contains alcohol so it may not be suitable for dry/sensitive skin. I have combination skin and didn't find this too drying. My forehead area tends to get quite oily so this took nice care of that. It removes makeup pretty well. With two cotton pads soaked in this cleanser, it seemed to remove pretty much the majority of my foundation. It leaves skin with that "super clean" feeling but it doesn't replace a regular cleanser in my opinion. Make sure to moisturize to avoid that tight feeling on the skin.
