This was my first ever lipstick. I was 16 when I bought it. It's a very bright vibrant red and I can't tell if it's leaning on the orangey side or blue toned side. Never really seen a color like it. Very beautiful and bold...the only thing I could live without is the pink stain it leaves after I take it off -_-

One of two Holy Grail red lipsticks! My other is the Sephora Rouge Cream lipstick in 04 The Red. That one is more of a neutral red, and this is a bright, blue-based, poppy red. I love this, it's incredible. I'm warm-toned, but I prefer cool tones in my makeup and this is my favourite blue-based red lippie!
It's SUPER long lasting: almost 12 hours with 5 meals and only 1 touch-up for glossiness. It doesn't settle into fine lines or accentuate dry patches. It's a beautiful, creamy formula that glides on and stays on. It stains the lips exactly this shade, and is extremely pigmented. I got tons of compliments, and most of them commented on how my lipstick was still bright, pigmented red even after 10-12 hours!
Love, love, love this. I love this entire range of lipsticks by CoverGirl, the formula is incredible. The colour range is incredible too. Definitely trying to collect all the colours I can!! Amazing lipsticks, and for an INCREDIBLE price.

my HG lipstick! i LITERALLY wear this every single day. i don't think everyone will love the fact that it stains, but for me it is a plus. i like that it leaves a bit of color around even when i have been eating and drinking. i don't know why i even bother buying other reds, although i do :) it is creamy when you apply but dries down to a fairly matte finish. i have blonde hair, green eyes and am about NW 20 and it just lights my face up, even with no other makeup on. i find it is very blue based, and it is quite vivid. it's not a flat on me which i feel like some reds can be, especially MAC russian red. i am almost through one whole tube which is saying a lot since i am a product junkie. for the price you cannot beat it. i would be lost if they discontinued it!

I love this stuff. Red is my go-to color and this is my favorite for everyday wear. It stains and I really like that. It does not run or creep outside the lip line. Barely have to reapply after food or drink & I never worry that the inside of my lips has worn off leaving color at the outside only like chola lip liner. The tube lasts a long time because of the stain - if I need moisture I just apply some balm or gloss over the stain. Great stuff.

My first red lipstick! I have my favorites and stick to them but they are all natural shades. This was on clearance for $5.00 and I've been wanting a red so I grabbed it. I really do love it! I'm brunette, brown eyed and nw18. This really complimented my features and I think it'd be a rare occasion if this did work for someone. It also makes my teeth look extremely white! It glides on like a dream, last several hours, and doesn't flake. I wear this with subtle neutral makeup, any outfit and my hair pinned in a low messy bun. That seems to be the best look for it to me. Warning!! It stains! I don't mind the staining at all bc I'd rather that then naked lips if for some reason I can't reapply my color if it wears off. This is not a color I can't live with out but it's the only red bright red ill need. I recommend this and will purchase again if lost or I run out.

Overall a very good red lipstick. I'm quite pale yet very warm toned and this looks very nice and bright on my lips. Its a good lipstick for the price! I typically do not enjoy CoverGirl but I think I've just become a fan of their lipsticks :)

This stuff stains like crazy. Even If its on for a minute it will stain your lips red. Besides that, on my skin, it's a little too RED for my taste. Reds like revlon's lip butter in candy apple look good on my nc30 skin but this I think would suit paler skin (think Taylor swift or Christina aguilera) better, or super dark skin but it's tooo bright red for us medium skinned girls. Unless of course that's what you're going for... But for a nice red you can always count on if you are nc30 I don't think this is the one. At least it isn't for me. Formula and everything is great and I would definitely try other lipsticks by covergirl- I do prefer revlon and rimmel's Kate moss line

I like this lipstick but I don't love it. The colour payoff is great - nice, bright cherry red, great for a night out. It doesn't feel heavy on your lips - I hate when it FEELS like you are wearing lipstick, this doesn't feel that way, BUT after a few hours of wear, I found this lipstick to be quite drying. As other reviewers have said, this has some staying power. It didn't come off on my cup, but I did notice that it faded gradually as the day wore on. Overall, a nice lipstick, but there are better red lippies out there!

I like this lipstick alot. I picked it up because I saw that Covergirls makeup artist Pat Mcgrath had used this shade on 42 different models during a spring 2013 fashion show. I thought " hey, maybe finally the perfect universal drugstore red lipstick". I am very cheap so the normal $7+ price tag for this is a bit much but I wound up paying $3.50 with my rite aid card so it was worth it. This is a bright poppy red. Some describe it as a bright cherry red with slight blue undertones, and yes I would go with that, but to me poppy red describes it so much better because it has a certain warmth to it that alot of true blue based reds don't have. It does brighten my face up. This lipstick is creamy and applies beautifully. I put it on straight from the tube on bare lips and clean up the edges with a lipbrush, no liner needed. This lipstick seems to "dry" to a matte yet non-drying stain as the day wears on and does seem to turn to a more cherry red. I can honestly wear this with zero touchups if I want. The only downfall I can see is that it really, really stains. Even after I remove my makeup at night (with either coconut oil or vaseline and a few baby wipes) it leaves my lips very heavily tinted I basically have to scrub them raw to remove it all. Plus, I still find myself leaning torwards a more true red ,red shade like the $2, Wet n Wild matte Stoplight Red, so while Hot still isn't my hg red *sigh* It's still beautiful. UPDATE 4/22/13- This IS my go to red lipstick (since it lasts forever). I wear it every day. Yes, EVERY single day- ALL day. It goes with everything from t -shirt and jeans (my normal wear) to formal evening wear. Its not "perfect" but so far, its close enough. I have (last week) caved in and splurged and bought Russian Red from MAC to compare. Will do a review on Russian Red when it comes in.

My quest for a red lipstick it's over! It stains my lips, and color payoff is amazing. Will repurchase without hesitation.
