Although I love the shade, the lack of glossiness disappoints me. I thought these would be quite similar to Urban Decay's Pleather Pencils from back in the day. However, I must admit that the staying power is really good. It's a real stick-to-your-lips formula with no funny scent or taste. I won't repurchase sheerly for the fact that I have similar shades like this and the lack of glossiness, but that's not to say it isn't a good product.

Milani Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencils are generally somewhere between lipstick and lip gloss in texture and finish. I have four Lip Flash Pencils and they all behave a little differently from each other, some are moist and glossy, some less so.

The color In A Flash (07) is described on the Milani web site as "violet with blue and violet shimmer". It is actually a sheer medium-light warm purple -- warmer than violet, deeper and less pink than fuchsia. In the right light the blue shimmer makes it look as if it is duotone blue, and in other light the purple shimmer stands out more. While this color is less "lip glossy" than some of the others in this line (the red is quite lip-glossy), it has a lot of personality and is a real dazzle fest!

It is a somewhat chubby pencil, so you will need a wide holed sharpener. This is an inexpensive product, so anyone shy of these sorts of colors can give this a try. Good product, good price.

Love this line! I have this in In A Flash,, which is a bright fushia with a multi tonal effect and lots of shine. This is a "gloss stick" but with rich color and it wears a long time and is very moisturizing. It's a chubby pencil, the only concern of which I have is that I'm not sure how it will sharpen. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I also bought a couple of other colors, which I'll review after I've worn them. I'm very pleased with this product and will definitely purchase again. I have found no other lip product on the market like this. It really is unique.
