I've been using this color for years and have a stash of at least 3 of them in case the color is ever discontinued. Its very comfortable to wear and is basically your natural lip color but better. I think it could very easily compliment any complexion. Leaving a healthy sheen (but not shine like a gloss) your lips look completely hydrated and at their best without looking done at all. It's my go-to lipstick, I keep one in every bag. Unfortunately because it is so moisturizing the stick has a tendency to break, but as long as you don't screw it too high out of the tube upon application it should be fine.

I've bought two of these. Lost the first one; loved it so much had to buy the second. The second is getting down there! It's a great everyday neutral. Just highlights my lips without shouting anything. Looks clean, classic, polished.

I know these lippies tend to break so be careful.... wouldn't want that to happen!

This is a nice, sheer, creamy and glossy nude brown. (It's almost a bit too nude for my pigmented lips.) I think this is a TRUE NUDE - not too orange, beige, brown, pink or red, unlike some nudes.... I would NOT consider this a lip stain, since the color does not seem to actually stain the lips. It's perfect for a casual, non-makeup look.

Total rave! The lipstick texture is wonderfully smooth and creamy and just feels good and goes on so naturally. It barely smears or comes off at all, even when I blot it.This is my HG lipstick for everyday use from now on. I bought this and a couple NARS and MAC lipsticks at the same time and this is the one I keep reaching for. The color is the PERFECT nude, not too orange or too brown or too pink or too red. It looks so put-together and gorgeous. I'm very pale skinned with yellow undertones blue eyes/blonde hair and it's really hard to find makeup that looks subtle enough with my coloring. I have a feeling I'll be repurchasing soon at the rate I'm using this! One warning: The lipstick is very creamy, so be careful with pressure-don't twist it up too much, don't press too hard etc or it will smear and break. I learned that the hard way ;p

This is my favorite shade of VL lipstain for an everyday wear to work color. This is truly the color of my lips but slightly darker and warmer. Try these before you buy as the colors do look different once applied however. I love the creaminess of VL lipstains. I do frequently have to reapply during the day but I don't mind as most long lasting colors I have tried are too dry for my lips. I prefer this to NARS, MAC, Stila, LM, etc. For color reference, NC15 / BB Porcelain / Alima W1 with dark brown hair, brown eyes and lightly pigmented lips. A definite repurchase. Update 1/28/2008: I have decided that this color is slightly too brown for me.

I've bought this lipstain 3 times now b/c it's the perfect nude color for my LLL skintone BUT the lipstick breaks at the base everytime! And soon after the first use! I've tried fixing the break but I haven't had success in doing so--it will stay fixed for one use and then it breaks again until the lippie is all smushed. I hate taking the lipstick and putting it in a gloss container--that's why I bought lipstick form so I could apply from a stick! They really need to do something about this lipstick breaking. If it was drugstore priced I would say oh well but this is a $20 lipstick. Will have to start the search again for the perfect nude cause I just bought this again and it broke immediately. Back it goes. Sucks!

I have medium-dark olive skin and dark hair and this is the perfect nude shade for me. I can see it being too orangey on fairer skinned girls, but I have the problem with many nudes being too pinkish so I like the orange undertones. The lipstick also feels great on...not too heavy, and has pretty decent staying power. My only complaint is that like some other reviewers, the lipstick broke off in the tube after only a couple uses. Now I have to use it with a lip brush.

I've seen a lot of reviews saying this product comes out orangey, but that wasn't the case with me at all. I really like it. On me it is a rosy/brownish color that makes my lips look moist and healthy. It is very expensive, but I really love the texture and the SPF, so will definitely repurchase.

Nude is right. This barely showed up on my medium pigmented lips. And when I finally layered enough to get some color, it was a wacky, sheer orange/brown. Good heavens. I'd literally just keep my lips nude.

I love this lippie! I bought it simply b/c it's a Friends color. I'm an NC30, and on me it's a beautiful light brown with a slight touch of orange. Normally, anything with any hint of orange looks like crap on my face! But luckily, the orange tint isn't so obvious that I can't pull it off! The only thing I don't like is how quickly it wears off. I know it's a sheer lippie and all, but I've had other sheers that last a bit longer than this one. But the color is so beautiful, I can deal with that! Also, there is a vanilla fragrance to all the VL Lipstains. I happen to actually like it! But if you don't like obvious fragrance or reapplying, you might want pass on these lippies.

I don’t consider this a “nude” color at all, but I do think it’s a lovely brown/pink/orange shade… I wore this in the summer, with bronzer, and it looked great… I wouldn’t repurchase, as I think VL lip stains are poor quality and way overpriced…

I giving this a 4 because I love the Vincent Longo Lipstains, but this did not work for me. It was way too orange. I ahve dark brown hair, dark green eyes and a pale complexion with a olive/yellow undertone.

This is the nicest lipstain I've ever tried. It is a warmish, rosy-nude color that may look too orangey on some complexions (I am a neutral/warm, AAB with fairly pigmented lips). I've found most 'nude' colors are either too light/pale/beigey and are too dramatic, or too brownish/grey and dull on me. This is a nice enhancement since it's slightly brighter (not darker, but more colored--what they look like after showering/snogging/etc.) than my own lip color. The best part is that it goes on smoothly like a normal lipstick, but after the 'slip' wears off, the color remains. Lips are not shriveled up either, though I like adding a touch of clear gloss on top for more moisture. There's a slight plasticky 'lipstick' scent but it's not strong at all to me and wears off quickly. No real taste. This doesn't stand up to a meal or a good rub, but the color doesn't disappear as easily as that of a normal lipstick. Packaging is a rectangular black tube--nothing horrible or fabulous. Muy cara at more than 20 USD a pop, but might be worth it if this turns out to be something you wear all the time.

Hate to be the spoil-sport here, but this product did absolutely nothing good for me and I really wanted to like it. The orangey-color of Nude wasn't anything like nude to me. Also, the taste is pretty bad, like a spoiled lipstick with a hint of vanilla. Have tried a few of these thinking at first I got a rancid one and they were all the same.

No way was this worth $23.50 to me, even the packaging is cheesy.

The reason I gave this 2 stars though is the color Chicka Motika (unlike Nude) is very pretty on, if you can get past the taste/smell.

If you are looking for a texture like this, I'd suggest MAC lustres, Clinique Butter Shines, Origings Rain or Shine or another less expensive but better quality option.

This is the best YLBB lipstain I have ever worn! My husband actually took a second look and wanted to take my picture with his camera phone when I met him for dinner! It wears off to a soft stain and it is very sexy paired with a nude face and some Dandelion blush. I will buy this again and I think the search for that perfect nude has ended.

THE most gorgeous color!!! My coloring is weird...a typical MMM, beige with yellow undertones on my face, but my cheeks and lips are very pink/plummy. I've always had to stick to foundations with yellow undertones, but cool blushes/lippies. Weird. I love peachy nude warm colors, but they always either wash me out or make my face look dirty. Until this. If it wasn't for MUA I would have never found it. This is the absolute perfect peachy nude shade I've ever seen...AND I CAN WEAR IT BEAUTIFULLY!!! How awesome is that??? This looks very dark and brown in the tube. It goes on a little too dark for me when I put it on alone with nothing but dry lips, but if I moisture them first with a balm, it goes on the perfect sheer, natural and truly nude shade. The texture is silky soft and the shine is perfect...not too shimmery (and the shimmer is just shimmer...not white-ist at all) or chunky, not too flat or dead pan. Looks totally natural even with my crazy coloring. I am completely hooked on this stuff and am going back for more colors that are hopefully as great as this one. No matter what your coloring, give this a try!

Thanks for all the previous reviews- I wouldn't have known to buy this product otherwise, and i love it!! at first i bought this product in the 'debue' color, which actually is the color of my lips; however, after a day i thought to myself, 'whats the point in wearing lipstick that looks exactly like my own lips?' so i returned that color to sephora and got nude. now, this nude is not actually the color of my lips; however, it is subtle enough that i don't feel self-conscious wearing it (i'm not a big makeup wearer, so i get nervous wearing 'i'm wearing makeup' colors)- it is a nice brownish, clay-like color that i think works well with my freckles and brown hair. it will probably be perfect for fall, but i'm wearing it now too. the texture is absolutely perfect-extremely smooth and moisturizing, doesn't get cakey, and when after an hour or 2 the smooth, semi-glossy layer wears off, the stain does indeed leave a nice, natural color for a few more hours. the nice thing is, if you want to reapply, you can do so without a mirror, as this is kind of sheer and glides on so nicely, and you can put on several coats without it feeling cakey.

the perfect nude shade of almay's nude lipbalm-thing, but in the most silky, light texture imaginable (almay's was thick, cakey & drying, and only worth using for the excellent color). seems to be *slightly* less orangey than almay's too. boring black but functional packaging. painfully expensive but so worth it.
