This product is terrible. I found it to be entirely ineffective. My skin was not rendered smoother or fresher. It does not exfoliate at all, it does not brighten, it does not detoxify. It is not gentle enough to use daily, contrary to its name. It stings the skin. It causes breakouts. It is heavily fragranced, and to boot, the strong scent smells awful and synthetic. I even tried it as a body scrub, but it did not apart from causing me to have dry skin. Not worth even trying, in my opinion.

I was surprised at the poor quality of this product, as I have liked every other Aveeno product I have tried. I actually really like their daily face scrub in the green tube.

With very dry skin in the winter (Canadian!) and oily skin in summer, I find this product to cleanse very nicely and gently. Though it has SLS in it, it doesn't lather, but has a gel-like consistency with gentle beads that don't scratch.

The only con I have with this is the smell. It is very strong, with a musky floral scent.

I bought this on a whim. I use it once a day combined with my Cetaphil to remove my makeup and the dead skin of the day. I noticed my skin brightening when first began using it but it has plateaued since. It leaves my face very soft and has not broken me out. It smells really nice and like that there are no harsh ingredients. I will probably purchase again if I don't find something else like it.

Great daily cleansing scrub that is not too harsh, just enough to gently slough off dead skin. Has quite a strong fragrance though. This is supposed to contain a skin brightener, but I have not noticed any brightening effect from using this. It removes all my makeup and does not leave my combination skin feeling dry and tight.

Great scurb, very gentle but effective. Makes my skin super soft afterwards. Aveeno products work amazingly on my stubborn skin. Havent found anything for my annoying blackheads tho!

I received a sample of this as well. The first time I used it I could feel a difference in my skin. I have sensitive skin and can't take harsh scrubs. I am always looking for scrub that would be effective yet not irritate and I found in this product. I have never had any luck with Aveeno products before, but this one is a winner for me. I am halfway through a full size tube and will certainly purchase it again. For me it is a great value around $7, and there are always coupons around for Aveeno. I have found that for me, a little goes a long way. I normally use it every morning and only a little more than a pea size amount is enough.

This scrub is pretty useless IMO. I received a generous sample tube in my free Target summer beauty bag and I love scrubs that aren't too harsh so I was excited to try it out but I was absolutely unimpressed. The beads are pretty much nonexistent and while I understand it's supposed to be gentle, effective would be nice too. The smell and texture do not redeem this scrub either. Imho save your money!

I got this as a sample as well. The packaging is average is good.
The actual product- I kind of actually like the smell. It's a strange refreshing clean, if that makes any sense.
For the product you really don't need that much. Pea sized of what the other review said is correct. I've used this sample for about a week and a half now and still have lots of time to go. A bottle would last forever! (For reference the sample size is 1 oz. ) So I can definitely see this being a good buy.
The little beads in it are really nice. You can feel it working and feel fresh after. My face is a little tight but thats how I like it because my skin will oil it down within a couple minutes.
Now why the kind of low rating- Since using this I have broken out in a bunch of really tiny acne bumps. No head or anything, just bumps. I can't guarantee that this is where it is from but I believe it might be. I'll finish up the sample and see if anything changes.
If it turns out that this isn't causing my acne and that its just natural, then this could be on my potential rebuy list!

Edit: I really like this stuff. It is not infact, causing my acne. It actually seems to help clear up with time! My skin is really soft and I've been working on the sample for over a month now. I'll be rebuying when I get through all my other products.

I got this free to try in my Target beauty bag and really had no expectations. What a pleasant surprise! I only need a tiny amount (less than a pea) and I exfoliate my face and neck with it in the shower. Since you need so little it was a pretty generous sample and I have had a lot of opportunity to try it. It is wonderful! My face is so soft and feels clean after I use it. The beads are tiny so it never feels rough and scratchy unlike some other products I have tried and ended up using for my feet instead of my face. I will purchase this. Be aware that the package looks a lot like another Aveeno scrub. I actually reviewed the wrong one first.

I got a sample of this in a Target beauty bag and although I don't quite understand what it is... a detoxifying scrub that claims on the label to be soap free... I know that it burned my face like crazy in the shower! I'm not sure what they replaced the "soap" with, but it doesn't work for me! I will not purchase this and I will be tossing the rest of my sample.

I got this product in the target beauty bag as well and I tried it out last week for the first time. I have extremely sensitive and acne prone skin, with a couple problem spots and I noticed the next morning after using it my skin looked a lot clearer and the redness that I usually have around my t-zone calmed down a lot. The smell of it is not very pleasing but it didn't bug me too much throughout the night and I also liked the fact that the exfoliating beads arent as harsh as others I've tried lile st ive's green tea scrub, though I love that scrub and swear by it, this one does the job without making you feel like you're actually scrubbing your skin off. However I'm not completely sure if my results throughout the week was strictly because of my addition of this product to my routine, so I'll have to try it for a little longer before determining whether it actually works for me or not. But I'm still pleased with this product as of now.

I really love this scrub, it exfoliates my skin without being too rough. I feel like my skin is alot smoother and softer feeling after using it, it seems to additionally make my moisturizer go on to my face better. It does have a slight scent to it, but it is not overpowering too me at all. I received this as a sample in a target beauty bag, if it would not had been for the sample, I would have never had even thought about buying it. This is the very first Aveeno product that I have used and I must say I am really loving the feel it gives too my skin, I have also noticed a glow to my skin after using it. I would reccommend people giving it a try.

Oh my word, this stuff is harsh! I got a sample of this in the recent Target Beauty Bag and decided to try it out. This scrub literally took off the top layer of skin in areas of my face. I used the product as instructed. I do had some sensitivity but I use Clinique 7 day scrub and Exfolikate without problems. My skin burned so bad that I have to apply First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream to soothe my skin. I would not recommend this unless you have no sensitivity and like a rougher particle scrub.

I LOVE this scrub! It exfoliates my skin softly without scratching it with over-sized beads like other scrubs. It just bumps off all my dead skin and leaves my face feeling very polished :) It has really helped with my acne

I acutally really like this. For a long time I used things like Noxema to wash my face but Idk , I felt like I needed something more gentle. I bought this last week and I love how smooth my skin feels after every wash. I have a few acne scars on my cheeks so the fact that it helps make make my skin feel smoother is something that makes me love it even more. It smells okay , I mean it's better than then chemical-like smell of other cleansers. It works great , but I'm open to find something better

I actually got this product because I had a coupon for it.. lol
But overall I am a fan.. it smells great, it's not harsh - in fact, the scrubbers are so small you can't see them.. you can feel them, though.
My face glows after I use this, and it feels exfoliated and clean. When washing in the sink, make sure you wash well, because the little scrubber things will be left behind if you're not careful.
It helps with my acne, but not as well as other products, so I won't be buying this again..! ]=

I hate the smell of this! I like the Aveeno Smart Essentials Pore Purifying Cleanser more because it cleans my face better than the Daily Detox Scrub, but they both smell wayyy too strong. This scrub was a bit harsh for my skin, I prefer Aveeno Skin Brightening Scrub which has smaller, gentler exfoliating beads in it.

This smells so good! This really cleans my face well! They say you shouldn't exfoliate more than twice a week, but this isn't harsh and I mix this scrub with Aveeno calming foaming face wash (mix glob of scrub and one pump foamer) and feels so nice on my skin and does the job well. Will repurchase.

I am an avid user of this product...the whole smart essentials line and I have been using it for about 3 months now and I love it!! It is by far, the best skin care line around. My skin is brighter, smoother, and I have only had 1 breakouts since using this product. I normally dont tend to break out but I do have the occasional once a month 2 spots that show up but I havnt had that since using this and I have alot of hyperpigmentation and eneven skin tone, and this stuff has gotten rid of all that and made my skin glow. As long as this line is around, I will never use another thing on my face again. I did only give it 4 lippies because it does have an awful smell but as soon as you use it and wash it off, the smell is gone, but it is totally worth withstanding the horrid smell for 45 seconds
