This eyeliner applies very well - I actually like the fact that it has a semi-glossy finish and not a matte one which is misleading since the name of it is "Mat Black."
The reason I'm giving this a 3 is because if you do rub over it once or twice, the dried eyeliner does tend to flake off. I'd rather it smudge than flake so I won't be buying this eyeliner again. Another complaint I have is that the applicator tip isn't flexible so it's kind of hard for me to apply thick lines, though it's perfect when winging for a thin line.

This eyeliner has incredible staying power. It dries almost instantly, and does not smudge or smear. You can rub at it right after you apply it, and it won't smudge at all. It has far more lasting power than most other liquid eye liners I've tried.
The applicator tip is soft and flexible - easy to use. Packaging is pretty standard.
There's no funky smell, and it did not irritate my eyes at all, which has happened to me when I've tried liquid liners from other brands. My eyes tend to get very red when I use liquid liner, but this did not happen with the MUF liner.
My negative take on this product is that it does not dry to a matte finish. It dries to a glossy finish, which is common in waterproof liquid eye liners. However, the name of the liner itself leads you to think it is matte, but it's not (Color 13 Mat Black).
Despite the incredible staying power, I can't get over the glossy finish it leaves behind, so I won't be repurchasing it. Disappointing for such an expensive and well-formulated product.

Disappointing....I tried the #7, (a plum black colour with sparkles) I was very excited when I tried it on my hand. I was looking for a waterproof liner for a vacation to a hot and humid climate where I would mostly be on the beach. The most disappointing part of this product is the fact that you need to apply at least 2 layers to get the look just right because it is streaky. But want really did it for me was trying to get it off. I'm all about removing all of my makeup before bed and would never dare skip doing so. Needless to say, it took me 4 cotton pads (for each eye) with an eye-makeup remover to get it off. I don't like to excessively rub my eyes when removeing makeup, however becasue this product comes off in a flaky way you almost have to scratch your lid to get it off. Not enjoyable. Though the selection of colours are gorgeous I prefer using the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof which is long lasting with a waxy texture and comes in this amzing Jade #50 colour. I'll be taking that to the beach instead. :)

I do kind of like this liner, but it is not my favourite by a long shot and it has plenty of drawbacks. It doesn't set instantly, so sometimes it smears close to the inner eye just from my eye moving whilst I go about doing the rest of my make up. It is extremely hard to clean up as it smears everywhere, ruining my eye shadow. If you aren't super confident with liner, this is not for you as clean up is a nightmare. It also sometimes flakes off in places, particularly the outer corner of my eye. When I go to use my lash curler it often removes a chunk of the liner, so I have to be careful, my other liners don't do that. I always get a little on my lashes (I have tons of them and they're very long, so get in the way), it ends up making my mascara so clumpy that I've had to use a cotton swap and waterproof remover to sort my lashes out, it doesn't comb out easily at all. I prefer a tiny bit more flex in my nib, this is precise but I wish it flexed more. I sometimes struggle to open it and more often than not, the neck that stops all the product from coming out, pulls off with the lid. It can take me a good few tries to get it to go back in. Tbf though, my GOSH one does this too.
On the plus side, it is very pigmented and waterproof. I prefer GOSH's liner to this and it's more user friendly. The only real USP of the Aqua Liners is they come in a huge colour range. I'd buy other colours, simply because the only come in this range, but I wont purchase the black. For what it's worth, I paid trade, but they still aren't cheap.

The brush is very stuff and unlike the Lancome Artliner doesn't have any give. The eyeliner is very pigmented and is easy to maneuver. The formula is much better than the Urban Decay liquid liner. It isn't too runny and can be layered if desired. I notice on my cotton pad the liner has small flakes and clumps in certain areas when removing the liner.
Depending on how I wear this, it might or might not come off. For the majority, I think lasting power of this liner will not be a problem. Unlike the Urban Decay liner, even when this liner flaked in certain areas it did not flake little pieces all over my eye.
I think this liner has decent lasting power considering most liners would have disappeared or smudged into a black eye. The flaking along the lash line is minimal.
The formula is smooth and pigmented. The applicator is stiff which makes lining the eye very easy. I normally prefer a more flexible tip however I found this to be very easy to maneuver. The liner has a good staying power. It did smudge on me towards the lash line but isn't many that doesn't. Considering the amount of smudging I would highly recommend this for others. This liner didn't irritate my eyes which is another plus for me! My only problem with this liner is when removing the liner the formula like the Urban Decay causes it to flake off. It could easily get into the eyes when removing the makeup which is a nono for me. If you like the Urban Decay 24/7 liner, this formula is much better and I would recommend this over the Urban Decay.
I have pictures of this at my blog post http://www.apassionateobsession.com/2012/09/makeup-forever-aqua-liner-review.html

I had high expectations from this product. A lot of people mentioned that this was the best liquid eyeliner...smudgeproof, waterproof and simply amazing. Since my eyes are very sensitive, dry and water almost all the time ( I have protruding eyes caused by hypothyroidism) so I would constantly wipe my eyes. And this liquid liner doesn't last at all-doesn't matter how careful I am when I wipe my eyes...I don't rub them even!!! It flakes off by the end of the day :( I truly adore the colors but that's it. *sigh*

I have tried so many different liners in the market, cheap to expensive, you name it. This, is by far THE best eyeliner I have ever used. It lasts all day without smudging even when I use it to tightline my lash line. The only drawback is its applicator ..its too stiff. The applicator is not the brush type more of the spongy but stiff kind. When applying, the liquid does not split up as much as the others, if its does split a teeny weeny bit, you can just layer over it when its dried. Packaging wise, its still acceptable but I would still prefer to have a softer applicator. I will buy this over and over again as it really does not smudge.

i have tried SO many liquid eyeliners on the market. this one has definitely performed the best for what i want. it stays all day (even in the outer corner of my eyes where the wing of my liner tends to start to disappear by the end of the day) and the applicator is SO PRECISE. i love it. very happy with it!

I haven't been using liquid liners for a while, but I've tried several brands and let me just say, this one is the best. It's SO easy to apply because the brush is small so its precise. The black is awesome and not streaky. One application and it's thick and perfect. I don't need to double up the layers or anything. My face is oily and sadly, my eyelids are too. This eyeliner stays on my eyes for the entire day and doesn't flake or smudge or anything. Definitely my HG eyeliner. I would LOVE to buy this again, but it's way too expensive for me. But who knows? I'll wait until this one finishes and I'll try out more eyeliners.

This eyeliner stays on my oily lids if i dont cry :L
the smell is something like peanuts. It'll flake a bit if you scratch at it. But why you would do that, I wouldn't know >.>. It also flakes off with tears :/
Similar to mac's superslick eyeliner. But the applicator tip is shorter and in turn doesn't bend into funny shapes. And it's more expensive

Bought this product after countless beauty consultants recommended it to me, however I've had it for a few weeks, it's streaky and impossible for me to get any product out, regardless how much I shake it. Did not work for me, terrible product. I'm going to return in a few days, definitely not worth 30$. Would not buy again.

I love the applicator brush on this eyeliner, it makes it super easy to apply a fine line just above your lashes
it takes some time to dry so if I want to go over the liner with an eyeshadow I can. it's also waterproof as promised.
the only reason I'm giving it a 4 not a 5 is because the colour is a little metalic (just a touch). I prefer liners that don't reflect the light at all. even a little sheen in the colour makes it look uneven when the light hits it.
I've had the same issue with there brown colour (number 12) so wouldn't purchase it again. however as a produce it's pretty good.

I've finally found the perfect liquid liner. I love the felt brush, I really can make precise winged liner, and I love that this liner does not budge!! I recommend having a high quality eye makeup remover though, so you aren't rubbing your eyelids trying to get this off.
It's very very black and easy to apply for a liquid liner, it's my new holy grail!

Just put in my order for two more (13 and 12). When I first bought the 13/Black one I was skeptical. I have very very oil eyelids and even MAC's blacktrack smudges after 4 hours. So I figured it was time I revisited a liquid liner. The pigmentation and color quality are amazing. Don't forget to shake it! This way all the pigment gets mixed up and you get a rich and opaque black. I only need to draw a line once to get a full intense color. When I went to the beach over the summer I put this on just for fun (seriously, what makeup can withstand hours of salty water? I'm a tomboy and I PLAY) and guess what? It actually held up! By the end of the day a bit of it had crumbled away but that wasn't until after like..8 hours of riding waves? I was amazed. And from that point on I realized this is the liner for me for life. As for how long this will last you..I bought it in May and now that its the end of October/beg of November I'm putting in another order cause I ran out. So it'll last you about 5 months (give or take) with daily use.
Reading the other reviews, I'm a bit surprised by the low ratings. I think maybe this liner is best for those with very oily lids...otherwise if you have a dry eyelid it'll probably crumble fast. I don't experience any crumbling myself until after about 10 hours. As for the felt tip, I think its nice quality. Other reviews have mentioned it being very scratching but I haven't noticed anything. If you have thin eyelid skin maybe stay away? I don't have particularly thick eyelid skin though.
Anyway, this is holy grail. MUFE you hardly ever disappoint.

I have yet to find an eyeliner that won't budge. I have tried waterproof pencils, liquids, gel, and powder liner and everything seems to smear under my lashes at the corner despite using primer and translucent powder. The SA at Sephora recommended this liner but after 4 hours it moved and flaked on the bottom corner of my eyes. This is a lot better than Revlon colorstay, L'oreal, and Maybelline line stilleto. But for the price I'd expect better outcome. After speaking to the manager at Ulta, a SA at Sephora and reading reviews, I am going to try Stila's liquid liner and as for pencil I heard Benefit's badgal liner works well.

This liner is a 10 for me. I have tested it this summer on the beach and also diving for long time. At the end of the day it was exactly as it was when I applied it: superb. It may be a bit stiff and more difficult to apply than other liners, but with some practise you can draw a perfect line.

super disappointed :( I got this at IMATS and im glad I only bought one cause i swatched several colours on my hand and went to the bathroom to wash my hands and all of these liners came right off ! O_O after that I hoped that it will be different on my eyes. Within the first hour of school i noticed that part of the liner has flaked off. Then just now I put it on and I'm just studying at home and the liner has flaked off within the first hour again! from doing nothing!
my HG liner is Lancome Artliner (which i lost! NUU!)

I'm very picky with my eyeliners, because I have tried a lot and most of them (mainly gel/cream ones) result in panda/raccoon eyes. I always wear an eye primer (either Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance) beforehand.
This one comes very close to being perfect. The pen form is very practical and easy to use. The tip is close enough to the handle so that I can keep my hands steady. I can manage the thickness of the line quite well too. The formula stays on for a very long time. All day, in fact.
The only thing keeping it from a perfect mark is that occasionally the liner flakes a bit at the outer corner of my eyes. I guess it's because once the formula dries, it becomes kind of like a film. And that film can flake off a little bit at the edges. When it does, it's nowhere near as noticeable as raccoon eyes, so I'll take it.

I am SO disappointed with this product. I expected a reputable company like Make Up For Ever to produce a quality liquid liner, and for $23 dollars, I expect nothing less! Now, there's actually nothing wrong with the formula. Its smooth, pigmented, and long lasting. My problem is application, the felt tip on this liner is so stiff, scratchy and thick that I have difficulty drawing my usual cat eye. Plus, I feel like the Loreal Lineur Intense performs similarly at a third of the price! Overall, I am unimpressed with this liner. Its going back to Sephora tomorrow!
