I am very picky when it comes to mascara's. The genius behind any mascara is in the brush, and Benefit knows this. I already have pretty long top and bottom lashes, but they aren't naturally dark, they aren't naturally voluminous and they are pretty straight. So the reason I like this mascara is because it lengthens, volumizes, curls, it doesn't clump, it's buildable, it never flakes, it's lightweight (doesn't feel like it's weighing down your lashes all day), the brush gets into all the small eyelashes, it's extremely dark black (I hate that dull looking black that some mascara's and eyeliners have), it doesn't smell at all (which I like because sometimes I find mascara's have a funky smell before they dry), it dries fairly quickly but not so quickly that you can't work with it without it clumping, it is not waterproof but it will not budge until you take it off (something I also prefer because I find waterproof mascara's are hard to take off), I also think the packaging is pretty and I find with the shape of the tube I don't waste product. The only con I can possibly come up with is the $30 price tag. Though, I am willing to look past the outrageous price because I absolutely love the product. Also I have been lucky enough to receive 2+ free deluxe sample size mascara's from different reward gifts. These samples are large and last a long time so in my eyes, they kind of make up for the price of buying the full size.

I was SUPER excited to try this out since everyone was hyping about it but I ended up being pretty disappointed with it. First off, I have super stubborn Asian lashes so I'm looking for a mascara that can give me good volume and length and hold a curl. Wearing this by itself, I noticed it gave a decent amount of volume and length. However, it did not hold my curl at all. I also noticed at the end of the day, there would be some smudging on my lower lash line. That just goes back to the fact that I should just stick with waterproof mascaras. I ended up using this on top of my other waterproof mascaras just to add volume and not waste the product. I also noticed that people raved about the wand. Honestly, I rarely used the spikey ball at the end because i noticed that when I do use it, it just created smudging.

I bought this thinking that with all the great reviews this would be an HG mascara. For me it is terrible. It flakes and clumps. I hate the wand/brush. It does not fan the lashes out or separate them. It feels heavy on the lashes and really does not look that dramatic.
I have much better results with Cover Girl's Lash Blast in the orange tube.

My favourite mascara - I cannot wear falsies and have fairly thin lashes but this mascara makes me look tired and more alert in addition to them being longer/thicker. The tiniest bit clumpy (but nearly every mascara is..) but I just brush off any excess with a Q-tip. It will probably smudge a bit by the end of the day though, but if just for a few hours at school you should be good.
The only downside is that it's kind of hard to get off unless you have a good make-up remover? Like I think I got it all off, then take a shower, and some still smudged so I have to wipe off the edges of my eyes again lol.. doesn't really bug me that much though.

I got this as a birthday sample from Sephora. I really loved using it, super dark color, great brush (favorite mascara wand ever), and love the length and separation of my lashes. I hate the price though, I have not purchased this product (as much as I'd like to) because I can't bring myself to buy the $10 sample of the $23 full size. The product does flake a little and is hard to remove but overall I really like this product, just not the price.

I just cant...get on board with the hype. I have long and thickish (but very blond) lashes and I love me some voluminous Tammy Faye lashes. This mascara didnt do it. Its very black which I liked and its long lasting which I also liked....BUT (and thats a big but) it does almost nothing in terms of volume for my lashes. Its clumpy, doesn't build well and fights with makeup remover. AND...I hate the brush, its super pokey. I put it at the base of my lashes and it stabbed me. OUCH! I can wiggle the brush at the roots of my lashes for all my other mascaras but not this one. I bought the mini at Sephora (I love trying samples before I commit especially to a $23 mascara) and I will not be purchasing the full sized version for all the afore mentioned reasons. My drugstore mascaras perform better than this... Hey Benefit, maybe mascara isnt your thing?

I bought the mini for $10. Used it a couple of times. I was excited to finally try it. As you can see from the rating I gave, I hated it. I don't understand the hype. It didn't do much for length for me. It didn't volumize whatsoever (not sure of it's supposed to). Yes I could tell people "they're real" because my lashes didn't look like falsies! "They're real... real crap." I get better results with drugstore mascaras. I've had people tell me my lashes look good with a DS mascara. I'll be returning this to get my $10+tax back. This is over hyped. Is never pay full price. Two of my friends tried this mascara and neither was impressed. If it worked for you, good. ;)

I'm mixed on this review. Overview: $23 for .3 oz. dark black mascara with a little ball on the end to push up lashes. (Similar to It Cosmetics, Givenchy, etc).
This is an intense black mascara. Adds a decent amount of pigment and length and volume. Does not smudge. Downside, takes a little more eye makeup remover to remove.
Overall, I like this but can't say I'm in love. If u get it in a set or for a great reduced price, well worth it. But I can't say I think it's any better than CoverGirl lash blast. So would repurchase on sale, not full price.

I have to start by saying that I really like this mascara a lot. I love the brush. I don't like the formula when I first open it as I find it a little bit too wet. However, as I start to use it, and it dries out a smidge, I start to love the formula. It makes my lashes long (I have short ones so this is important) and it makes them thick! I love them when I use this mascara.

This product is very thick and contains Beeswax. Which gave me a stye, & i've never had one before. But it was Long lasting i wore it graduation and cried the whole way through, it stayed on til i took it off.
