Before I spent $1,000 and invested in a gel kit, with all the supplies and over 30 colors... this is a product that I would use on a regular basis. I love the look of a french manicure and I am so excited to find that they have come out with gels with this french manicure set. No matter what products came out and claimed to make the perfect french manicire (with the white nail pens, the little stickers put on the nails as a guide and filling it in with white polish), none of them come close to this product. Its so incredibly easy to do, its almost fool proof. I LOVE that all you have to do is glue the french down, clip off the plastic guide and there you have THE PERFECT smile line. If you love french manicurea but have a hard time doing them yourself- this product is all the way for you. It seems a little pricey at first, but add up your trips to the nail salon and i can promise you will be saving more than you think. This product would have got a 5, but I wish they would come out with different color smile lines, for more fun. I also wish they had a pink and pearl polish you could use to get the pink and white look... I still love this product and will continue to buy- no matter what!

I'm still up in the air about this product in the hopes that I may have applied it wrong, or need to use better glue. I love how easily the nails went on once you got past the learning curve. However, my wraps started chipping and disappearing the next day! I'm reading reviews where these last over a week. What did I do wrong?
I'm looking for an affordable alternative to getting a French manicure at the salon because I wanted to avoid chipping just after a few days. But it seems like everything else chips or erodes a lot sooner!

This is, by far, my favorite nail product. I have really nice nails but I can't stand trying to paint on tips all the time, which chip and/or peal within a day or two. My natural nail tips aren't perfectly white either. This product not only makes my nails look like I just stepped out of the salon, but they are super easy, protect my tips and last FOREVER. I can get at least 2 weeks of wear out of them (with removing and adding the top coat after a week or so). I type all day long and these are perfect! If I could rate a 10, I would! <3

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product! It is super easy to use and lasts longer than a week for me! If I break a nail, I can easily fix it myself! I tried this product because, as I am sure many of us are facing this same fate, we have had to cut back and could no longer afford to get my own french manicure every two weeks. this product even makes my nail stronger and they rarely break! I WOULD ABSOLUTELY recommend this product to every one! I know it comes in white and black. Gonna try the black next. I wish it came in other colors though too, that would be fun! :-)

Ok...so the concept of these is pretty awesome. They look good, they aren't really damaging to your nail and they don't chip.
The downside is that the nail glue that comes with the set isn't that great and they will start pulling up at the corners if you don't glue them perfectly. The base coat and top seal look so great on (like acrylics because it's so shiny and glossy) but when it comes time to take them off, it's REALLY hard to get those clear coats off. So if you are wanting color or something after wearing these you will have to file it off and rebuff.
That being said, I LOVE these for french manicures. I bought nailene nail glue (in the purple bottle) and used that instead of the kind that comes with the kit for my 4th manicure and it lasted days longer without the sides pulling up. All in all I probably replace the set once per week so that's really not bad.
Would definitely reccomend if you are like me and over acrylics and gel nails. Getting ready to do another set right now. :)

For about $20CAD, I can get 3 french manicures, which is a huge plus already. I'm on my second manicure, and it lasted longer than the first time I tried it. As previously stated, the edges peel first, and also snag onto things for me. The first time I tried it, it was falling apart within a couple of days, which bothered me. I HAD to have a french mani asap, but I didn't have the time or money for a mani at the salon, so I used this again. I've so far re-done two nails, but both weren't due to the product.. I happened to jam my nails into things, lol. I'm likely going to buy this again, and I'm sure that with practice, and putting this on properly, it lasts for a week or more.
EDIT: I used up an entire kit and I've never been more annoyed with my nails. I feel like the OCD in me came out when I used these. The sides lifted all the time, even if I tried really hard to glue them in place, and even if I used layers of the base and top coats. I likely will not be purchasing this again.

I have just found this product thanks to MUA. I am on my second manicure with this product. So far I have mixed opinions regarding this.
Pros:
Look great! Easy to apply and gives a very professional manicure look in about 30 mins. Pay attention to the numbers on each tip so you can match them up for each hand. You can use your own base color if you don't want a clear base.
Cons:
Pay close attention to the corners because they peel first. Annoying for my type A personality. Once it starts to lift I can't leave it alone! Found myself fussing with this too much for it to be comfortable.
That being said, there was no ugly chipping and my mani lasted about a week. A good product that I may need to get better skilled at applying to get better even longer lasting results.

I noticed this product two weeks ago at Sally Beauty Supply and since it I wasn't ready to purchase this kit without researching it so I put it on my short wish list. Meanwhile I I went ahead and got a gel polish french manicure for a special event.
I purchased this kit (1 kit contains enough for 12 french manicures) and decided to try it out. For newbies to DIY manicures this is a pretty good start, especially for at home french manicures. The application process was fairly easy and quick (it took approx. 20 minutes).
I do have a few warnings. The process includes gluing the white tip to your nail. As with any other type of superglue be VERY careful with the application of glue. Also, the instructions say that this product will last for up to 2 weeks. Anytime you are gluing artificial tips or any other product to your natural nail, it is possible for lifting to occur. If lifting happens, water can get trapped between your nail and the artificial product. This is causes the growth of mold an fungus. I would not suggest keeping this product on for 2 weeks. A week later, check the condition of your nails and the white tips. Remove with pure acetone and reapply if you notice lifting.
The kit comes with
- 2 sets of white tips (1 thin and 1 thick white line sets)
- 1 bottle of Base Coat
- 1 bottle of Top Coat
- 1 bottle of Glue
- 1 File
- 1 Buffer
If you already have base and top coats, files, nail glue, and buffers you can avoid buying the full kit and purchase just the tips.

I just put these on last night (I uploaded the picture) so I cannot comment on the longevity of these tips, but so far I am in love. I like that they aren't an extension, because I am so over press-ons and acrylics. But the top coat that you put on makes my nails look professionally done and so glossy. I can also feel that they are not necessarily strengthening my nails, but definitely protecting my nails and the tips (I have weak, thin, brittle nails) which is a plus.
Finding a size for my nails was easy. And I love that my starter package, the $12 one, has enough for 3 applications. When I'm done with this starter set, I am going to spring for the $30 box which has like a million applications. This is going to be my new nail "look" for the summer, or until I get bored, because I work in cosmetics and love having my nails look nice, but without acrylics.
The overall application time for me probably took a little longer but thats because it was my first time. I'm sure that next time will be quicker. The overall effect is, like I said, clean and professional looking.

I had much the same experience as the last MUA'er! I bought these on a whim yesterday. Mostly because my nails are short and in bad shape, but I didn't want the hassle of full on acrylics. So, I tried these. And yes, the process *sounds* complicated, but I stood at my kitchen counter and ended up doing them all in just a few minutes. They look great! My short little nails now have a little upgrade. :) I will mention though, the instructions reference adding in a french mani pink if you want, but I tried on one nail and it didn't work well at all. The wraps with the base/top coats look great alone and that's one less step! I will definitely be looking into the ginormous pack for the future. Anxious to see how long they really last. :)

I bought this product at Sally's today. It was on sale and the package says it has enough for three applications.
This is definitely an innovative product. Until talking to the sales rep at Sally's, I actually had no idea how to use the product. I have seen it before but never bought it because I didn't know how to use it.
What I bought is called the French Wrap Professional Manicure Kit. I got the thick black line. The product includes the color tabs (for the french "polish" on your nails), brush on nail glue, base coat and a top coat. I believe you can also get the kit in white and can get either a thick or thin line depending on your taste.
Application is innovative and super simple. I'm a dumbass when it comes to doing french manicures and even I can do it...probably because you don't have to paint ANYTHING! This kit comes with tabs that have the color on them. You use a little brush on glue on your nail and on the color part of the tab. Like glue on nails, you match the right size tab (they have numbers on them too) to your nail size, press the middle and sides with your thumb, let the glue set for a minute and then use nail clippers to cut the tab to release the color onto your nail. That all probably sounds a lot more complicated than it is but application is SUPER easy.
After applying the french strip, you use the included buffer and lightly buff the color, THEN use the base coat followed by 1 to 2 coats of the top coat.
The package reads as if you should easily get a week's wear out of the manicure. If you used a gel top coat, I'm sure you could get up to two weeks. Considering I just did this tonight, I can't comment on the wear. Just the ease of aplication was worth mentioning. The tips of my nails feel much stronger than with a regular manicure so I'm hoping I'll get some pretty good wear out of this. If I do, I may even consider buying the larger kit (they have one that has like a bazillion applications). It may even be worth it to eventually invest in a high quality UV lamp and a gel top coat as well. The way I see it, I pay $30 for a french gel manicure and the cost of the lamp and gel top coat would basically pay for itself in a little more than 2 uses.
Will update once I know how this wears, but would recommend on the way my nails look and how easy this was to do alone.
**Update 6/11/11: It's official. I love these things. I just chipped my first one today and in about 2 minutes, had everything fixed and was ready to go about my business for the day. In fact, I went by Sally's and bought the thin white strips for when I do an entire change. Highly recommend. **
