I have very fair skin, and I got this as a Christmas gift because I wanted to try out an Essie polish. I actually REALLY like this color! To get an opaque finish, I only had to use one coat! With a top coat, it goes 7 days without chipping, and it is just the most GORGEOUS ice blue! If you can't already tell by all the exclamation points, I'll likely be repurchasing this ;)

I absolutely love this color, but the application is super streaky even after 2 coats. It also dries a bit chalky if you don't use a topcoat. I will finish the bottle, but will not be repurchasing.

I loooooove this blue. It makes me look like I have some color, great way to start summer off. It is a cool toned, stark baby blue that is opaque in 2 coats. I love it! My boyfriend also loves this on me! I always get asked what it is when I wear it!

This is such a gorgeous shade of pale, pale baby blue. It's a nice blue to have when you don't want your nails to scream BLUE. It has not one trace of yellow to it, so I'm not sure how it would look if you were olive-toned and pale, but with a tan I'm sure it's beautiful. It's very pigmented and you can definitely get full coverage with two coats, but the application is rather streaky, so it's really a b***** to work with but topping it with Seche Vite right after the 2nd coat really helps. I like to layer it under a single layer of All That Glitters, a look that reminds me somehow of a Faberge egg. So beautiful. A perfect bridal blue.

I just uploaded two pictures of this polish. The color looked very pretty in the bottle. It is a very pale and creamy ice blue. No shimmer what so ever. I had some difficulties putting it on, I generally don't like the brushes in Essie polishes. It has good coverage in 2 coats, but it makes my hands look dead. Not a color for everyday use. Would not buy again. I'm putting mine up for swaps.

I loved this color and wrestled with myself for WEEKS on if I would spend that much on a bottle of nail polish (as I've never spent more than a dollar on one), but I finally gave in and knew I couldn't live without it. The color is a little difficult to apply, as some of you said, but the next day I noticed large cracks across my fingers... not chips, but big crack lines. I've never had a problem like this with a cheap nail polish, and it's got me worried about trying any other essie polishes.

I had brought my own bottle of (now d/c'ed) St. Barth's Blue to get for my pedi - but saw this (Borrowed and Blue) in a mini bottle - so I tried it. Much more opaque than St. Barth's (and still streaky). I opted for St. Barth's. This is nice - more robin's egg-y (or sky-blue?) pastel blue. But I like St. Barth's sheerness and pewter cast better.

For reference, I am very warm toned, golden undertones. I thought this color would be too cool for me, and I was right. I prefer more minty green shades on myself, but after a few days, i grew on me a little more. It doesn't look terrible, it's just not the most flattering shade on myself. The formula however, I LOVE. Other people have said that it's thick and gloopy, which I find a lot of Essie polishes are, but this one applied like a dream for me. I put two thin coats (first one was very streaky) and after the second, they were perfect. No streaks at all. That actually made me ENJOY the process of putting on the polish.. not that I normally don't enjoy it but I don't particularly find joy in it..

Borrowed and Blue is from Essie's 2011 Wedding Collection and is most likely a limited edition color. It's a pretty baby blue which is unique to anything I have in my collection. The application was a little difficult as the polish is very thick and gloppy making it streak. The second coat evened it out a little better. My biggest issue is it began to chip the next day which surprised me for Essie. Maybe it's just this formula. But because of the application and the short wear time I would not rebuy.

I thought this was thick and gloopy. Even after I thinned it, the coverage wasn't even.

I got a manicure with this color yesterday and I love it. It's a perfect pure, opaque, pale baby blue. Really spring-y. Looks good with pale skin but I think it'd really pop on darker skin tones too.
The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because it has already chipped a teeny bit after just one day of basic everyday activities. (I know Essie is no OPI, but still, a little disappointing.) Otherwise, it's great!

This color is the perfect pale, powder, baby blue. I've never seen another color like it. Its gorgeous. I need to get a second bottle since its LE. The application is great and its opaque after just two coats. You have to be a little more patient with Essie, but because of the results... Its well worth it. It wears really nice and looks sophisticated and fresh. Worth every penny for sure. I have had some trouble finding it, but I do eventually find it. Such a beautiful color.

I love this color! I have it on my nails and my toenails at this moment & I love it. I wanted it when it first came out, but I was too late and I couldn't find it anywhere. Recently, I was on Ulta and I saw it was there, but it was Out of Stock, but about a week ago I was back on Ulta.com and saw it was in stock. I went to the nearest Ulta and they had just got a shipment in on it. I absolutely adore the color - it's like a pale, baby blue almost looks like a sky blue. It's a perfect color for Spring and I'll most definitely be wearing it a lot, I love the color and would recommend it to anyone who likes soft blue colors!

ok, call me insane, i just ordered a backup!
this is a gorgeous, pale blue creme. It's totally amazing. I consider it the equivalent of OPI's "Mod About You" (which is a lilac-y pink-lavender) except in blue! It's a gorgeous, super creamy pastel. It's like nothing else IMO, although there may be some dupes.
About 1-2 mos ago, I asked on Nail board for milky blue cream suggestions, and I think there's an Avon color that exists (i saw it on ebay)...but somehow that night, no one mentioned this color. Well, it's perfect!
It's a very pale shade of blue, with cool undertones. It could pass for a blue-lavender. It's not warm and has absolutely no yellow or green that I can see.
It's very sophisticated because it almost seems like a realistic shade, as crazy as that sounds. It isn't a glitter, and it's not "BLUE!" as in....some of the more bright blues. It's the color of a serene spa, and probably would be the best available blue for "spa toes"....which to me represent the look of freshly done pedis from a spa!
Application wasn't tricky for me. I have only done a pedi, and manis for me tend to be trickier....so i will prepare for that possibility.
The drying time seemed normal, and the color dries to a creamy gloss finish. One coat was actually plenty for my toes!
The bottle and brush are typical Essie perfection. This color is not in the new Essie drugstore line, but part of the usual yearly Wedding Collection. I do believe this color is LE, hence, bought a backup!
price: normal Essie price; I bought bottle #1 at Beauty First, and have ordered Bottle #2 on Amazon from the marketplace seller "Pink Nails" - the cost with shipping is under $7! (Beauty First: < $9 with tax)
Overall: the only cons would be if you hate pastels and are very strict about application being totally foolproof. This could get streaky, I imagine, but also if it's thick, thinner will help IME. (I used that a good bit on my Mod About You bottle).
Another thing: this would be an AWESOME present for a bride-to-be! I could see this attached with a cute ribbon to her shower present, or the week of her wedding, surprising her with a pretty cosmetics clutch for her honeymoon, with this tucked inside. Perfect "something blue" for her big day. :-D
