I love this lip liner soooo much. am nw45 in mac and this lip pencil is perfect for woman of colour. I just think the chestnut is too dark for warm skin tone. this lip pencil last all day and you can even wear it on its own. you get a lot of quantity with it as well

I love this liner. It compliments my skin tone perfectly. It provides great definition and does not clash with my lippies, like some liners can. I use it daily. I'm an NW43 for reference.

Brown girls who like to wear pink lipstick/gloss- get this liner. It's not too dark, and it's not too light for pink lippies- it just makes pink lip products look better. It's hard to describe the color, but it's like like a brownish/ mauvy color.
I use this with all of my pin lipsticks- Faux, Angel, Viva Glam Gaga, Laugh-a-Lot, Hot Gossip, and Snob.

I hate most lipliners but I love this one. It applies evenly and doesn't tug, is very pigmented and lasts. I also don't find my lips drying out with this. The SA at MAC introduced me to this during a shopping trip I made to return Cyber lipstick. He asked me what I didn't like about Cyber, then picked out Rebel lipstick and this liner. It looked so gorgeous I was astounded. At first I told him, "I think I might have a lipcolor that's this shade, really" and wasn't going to buy it. But every time I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and saw how velvety and dramatic my lips looked, I just had to buy both Rebel and Plum. The colors are almost exactly alike, and together they make the most gorgeously silky-smooth wine color. I have very cool tones to my coloring, so wine lipstick is actually my version of red--it gives me that polished, movie-star quality. This lipliner is the perfect base for any wine shades you might have.

My favorite lipliner. I found Lancome lipliner too soft and Estee Lauder too sparkly. It goes with all my plummy lipsticks. I always reach for this and will repurchase.

Why must MAC lipliners be so hard? Can this company not figure out how to make a soft lipliner that doesn't drag across my lips? And it's so drying, like so many MAC lip products.

Same reviews for Chicory, Plum, Stripdown, Mahogany and Cherry.

Ahhhh ... MAC Plum Lipliner .. YUM! ... Some of my favorite lippies are Fabby, X-Pose, Odyssey, Pink Aura and MAC plum lipliner is just the perfect liner that works with all of those. I don't need to have various liners for each one because this is amazingly versatile. I've gone through several of these, and while I've flirted with other plummy lipliners .. I go back to this one each and every time. It applies very smoothly and gives just the right amount of definition. What I love is how it can go on a deeper or lighter plum depending on how it's applied. This is the one lipliner that I always have with me .. I hope MAC never discontinues this one!!

All hot girls must own this liner. It looks hoochie when you put it on – but you can use it with just about ever lipstick and gloss color out there.

Total HG. Have been using Plum liner since high school. Now that I think of it, MAC Plum Lip Liner may have been in the first glossy black MAC shopping bag I ever procured. These may have been my gateway drug.

A terrific plum color. I compared it to my mahogony side by side and the mahogony looked almost orange in comparison. This is a true-plum color. I bought it to compliment my new LORAC Plum lipstick. And it's great on it's own, as all MAC lipliners are, alone with lip balm (Lobello) to make your own long-lasting lip color.

This one fills a "gap" in my lipliner arsenal.

"Plum" is exactly the color the name implies: medium-to-deep purple plum, with the *tiiiniest* hint of brown. I have a real phobia of brown, and "Plum" does not have enough to turn even me off.
I bought it primarily to go with Odyssey, and it almost perfectly matches that lipstick. I expect that it will work well with other lipsticks, too, especially for the fall season.

"Plum" features the usual MAC high quality, and it's a lovely, versatile color. The only reason I don't rate it a five is that I just don't wear plums all that much.

this is a good lip liner IF you like the color. on my nw43 skin tone it didn't have enough umph. i like mac makeup but i think i'll still to pairing my fresco with mahogany lip liner instead of this one. again if your skin tone goes with this then go for it...

In general, I find the quality of MAC lipliners to be average ... they are slightly dry for my tastes and most of the base colours are too warm, however I think their packaging looks fab and it gets me hooked each time. Plum lipliner was one of the original shades of lipliners coz I remember using it over a decade ago when I was still a highschooler ... it was one of the first lipliners I got along with Spice and Chestnut. I could swear that back then, Plum lipliner had more purple and rosy tones ... because a few months back, I thought I would go buy one again but when I tested it at the counter, it was so much browner than I had remembered! I don't think it is my failing memory or eyesight since I am only in my mid-late 20s ... I think MAC has added more brown to the Plum shade and I really wish they didn't.

According to the MAC site, this is a reddened plum, and I have to agree. There's a pink flush to this plum, which makes me like it - I'm not usually a fan of plums. Still, I don't ever reach for this, and would have just exchanged it for another Whirl, if I were the type who could return used cosmetics.

I picked this up to go with Tease Me in Fall of 2004 and continue to use it with colors such as Curiositease (lustre, Fall 05) and others. My lips are barely pigmented, so I find it easy to "overdo" it and venture into Pamela Anderson, circa 1995-land with this color, so I have to be careful. I don't reach for it a lot, but it is pretty with the rest of the Fall 2005 collection. This is not a repurchase for me, however.

I've been using this lipliner color for almost 10 years. I think it works well with almost any lipstick shade. I get a lot of compliments when I pair this with MAC's Plastique. Plastique is gold, but when mixed with Plum, it's a pinky gold, which looks really good.
