Mayflower is a natural looking (but shimmery) watermelon pink, only one or two shades darker than my bare lips. Luckily, the shimmer does not give a frosty look. I recall that it was first released as a part of a Nars spring summer collection a few years ago, but it is not much coral or bright, as one could assume. I like wearing it all year round, whenever I feel like it and now I am on my second tube.

This is a good shade for when you want to appear fairly natural. It's only one or two shades darker than my lip colour, so it's good for every day wear. I've been very impressed with NARS because usually I get a coldsore from wearing lipstick all the time but that hasn't happened with this, so I am very happy!

I don't like lipstick very much, I barely wear it. Mainly because I have this habit of running my lips together so the lipstick always come off quickly. But this lipstick, it doesn't do that. Along with that, the color is beautiful and it's very smooth. I highly recommend this lipstick for those of you who aren't very comfortable wearing lipstick yet and for the people who want more of a neutral lip color.

I got this last weekend in search of an everyday sort of lipstick and this definitely fits the bill! It's very subtle but it's nice that it's not exactly the color of my lips, nor is it nude. It makes your lips just a shade or two brighter. I have only one complaint which is that when I first used it it seemed like my lips were kind of sluffing off their dry layer which is gross! but it seems to be solved if I just apply it over balm.

I absolutely love this color. It is not too bright or bold or pale. It is my go to shade to wear to wear. It is just the perfect pink color. It adds color but doesn't look silly or cause me to stand out. It is the perfect neutral shade that every girl needs in her collection!

Getting tired of all my hot pinks/corals/oranges and wanting to focus on my eyes, I went looking for a lipstick that was neutral but not boring. This fits the bill. I didn't find the sheer raspberry of the description but, instead, one of those "my lips but better" colors. I wear it with Radiant Rose (?) Sephora brand liner, which helps it last. Only complaint is that the lid doesn't stay on, a problem I've had sporadically over the years with various Nars lipsticks. Would definitely buy again but would double-check the lid's staying power.

This one had to grow on me, but boy has it ever. The color is nothing to write home about--but somehow perfect with many looks. The formula is the typical NARS sheer; it's a tender veil of color with one swipe and a nice glossy full-color look with two or more coats. It brightens my face. I love it.

So Mayflower is getting a bad rap, and it's true that it's not a shocking color. It's the sort of color you want to have on hand for when the rest of your makeup is relatively involved and you just need a simple touch on the lips. On my lips (which are pretty pigmented), Mayflower shows up a sweet, glittery, watermelon pink. The glitter is pretty visible, but doesn't feel gritty and is finely milled. The effect is nice, springy and sweet. I wear it with Angelika blush for a subtly sparkly doll-like spring look. It probably isn't the best if you aren't a fan of glitter, and I don't think it would do much for darker skinned ladies. Try before you buy on this one.

I like it... It sort of reminds me of something bobbi brown would do. Its very "pretty"... If i sheer it out I don't mind it but full force it looks too young for me

Very pretty and natural lipstick color. This has become a go to lipstick for me. The "raspberry" description of it is very misleading, it's a lot lighter than that. Also, it was nice and smooth going on and didn't feel sticky or thick on my lips. Very happy with this lipstick.

Sometimes the most versatile and natural looking color cosmetics aren't the most exciting. I can see Mayflower becoming a go-to lip color for work and whenever. It's a tad expensive but I've realized over the years that what seems like a run-of-the-mill color by NARS is actually perfectly balanced. The stock description is "sheer shimmering raspberry". I don't think it's as dark as raspberry but is actually similar to MAC VGV. I'd repurchase, but wouldn't pay full price ($24) for this lipstick.

I LOVE this lipstick. This the most exciting color to come from NARS in a long time. Apparently it is described as being "sheer raspberry" but this is NOT the color. its a very peachy pink color. kind of MLBB but I brighter and more peachy. It goes so well with Amour blush. I bought the two last week and everyone keeps telling me that I look so "Fresh" and young. Yessss!!!!! exactly what I as going for. I love this lipstick and will buy it again and again.

Described by NARS as "sheer raspberry", on me (NC20, pigmented lips), this looks like a rose/brown, MLBB shade, not terribly unique but nice nonetheless for a polished day time look or paired with more dramatic eyes, for evening.
The staying power is pretty good for a sheer lipstick and I do not find it drying.
If you are after a "true raspberry", go for NARS Flair instead.

First to review! Nars new lipstick for the Summer Collection 2011 called mayflower.I love this shade! its a shimmer but very wearable, it appears MLBB (my lips but better) on my pigmented lips, sheer but enough pigmentation to say you have a color on your lips, Raspberry but not heavy in color, texture is divine, it is very moisturizing to the lips when applied and keeps the moisture for about 2 hours, I use it with a dramatic look but can also be used for a neutral look during the day as well, I am very happy with this lipstick as I will keep it dear to my makeup bag!
