For reference, I am a NC45 in MAC. This product is smooth in its application and very opaque. However, being a woman of color, there is a bit of effort on my part to make this product work for me. Growing Trend is a beige nude with a pink undertone to it. When I apply it by itself it looks gross. So I pair it with a NYX lipliner in Peekaboo Neutral. The result is a nude pink that looks very natural in contrast with my skin. For those far fairer than me, you can skip the liner. For those who are darker or the same skin tone as me, I would recommend a liner of some sort. Overall, I would repurchase (probably in the form of Lady Gaga Viva Glam 2 (a good dupe, according to some), because the MAC site indicates that this is Limited Edition) and recommend.

I am NW15-like one of the other reviewers that loved this. This is HG for me after a long search. The only nude I've ever found that was truly a nude on me and didn't turn orange. The MA tried Gaga 2 on me and after liking it at first, I came back and swapped it for this. It is very cool toned and taupe-y. I use it daily-both on its own and to mute down other colors. It's very creamy, so much so that it travels outside the lipline pretty easily. Not a bad problem to have considering it really does seem to stay nice and creamy for a long time. If I wish hard enough could this make it into the permanent line?? I think with only 7 reviews here at the moment, I may have to stockpile this before it goes away!
EDIT: So, I went to MAC to see if I could replace this and they don't have any more left. I'm going to try to find it online but in the meantime, I ended up with Creme de Nude. I actually really like Creme de Nude...it's slightly more peachy and about half a shade lighter than growing trend, so it won't work as well for me in combo with other colors, I think. Also, I really miss the amplified formula as Creme de Nude is creamsheen. Oh well, Goodbye Growing Trend! :(

Came out with Fashion Flower, Spring '11.
I really love this lipstick. I'm NW 15 and it's ever-so-slightly darker than my skin, which on my lips looks like a perfect bronzed nude. Being an amplified, it's very smooth and feels moisturizing. It also seems to last a long time (as seems to be the case with amplified lipsticks).
A shame this is limited edition!

So I originally went to the counter looking to pick up Mlle and Quite Cute, but of course they were completely sold out of both. So instead I had the MUA point me to a nude shade that wasn't going to be too peachy or too pink and she picked up this one. I'm NC 20(ish) for reference and my lips are a medium rose/mauve color, but this lipstick covers the tone pretty well without a lipliner. It shows up maybe a touch more taupe-y colored than my skintone and I don't get any of the annoying peach/pink undertones that nudes usually have. It's a little uneven, but I imagine it would look much better with a liner (I just hate wearing them). Overally I like it very much and I would buy it again if I could (but alas I purchased the last tube they had).

the palest nude lipstick i have, its a little bit too pale for me so i use it to lighten up other lipsticks or to make other lipsticks less drying as its a very creamy lipstick so its perfect for that.

When swatched Growing Trend is a cooler version of Gaga 2 they are almost identical. I use these shades the lighten darker colors or with a lip pencil Whirl looks nice with this..This looks like Blankety but lighter. I like the Amplified finish best I wish Mac would add more shades to the permanent line up.

This lipstick looks pretty much the same as my gaga 2. I like to put clear gloss or light baby pink gloss on top and it looks much better. Not so concealer looking:)

I really love this color, but like mlle I think it would look best on lighter skin tones because it is a light colored nude. It has awesome coverage much the same as the other amplified lipsticks. I find growing trend to be a bit more moisturizing then the other amplified lipsticks and has the same approximate wear time. Personally, I would say the coloring looks similar to playing koi with a little bit more brown. Would recommend this product to women of lighter skin tones.I must say Mac has been releasing several lipsticks suited for lighter skin tones in their collections this year; it is disappointing they are not reaching all their potential buyers.

Oh MAC, you could have at least made this a wearable nude, but you look like a glorified opaque concealer on my lips. I had high hopes for you but alas, you look like your cousin blankety. Guess you are not a total loss for $14.50 since you mute out my highly pigmented lips so your other sisters can look like their true selves on me. However, for a LE lipstick that came out in the spring I was expecting MUCH MUCH more. What a disappointment even down to the normal standard MAC black packaging. ~NC30 dark hair/brown eyes.
