This is a product that is totally, totally worth the price. As a blow-drying noob who is partial to a blow dried mane, doing my hair is a constant struggle with a regular hair-dryer and brush. The closest I've gotten to a salon-finish is a single time, which I whole-heartedly believe was a total fluke!
When I saw the Babyliss demos on YouTube by various reviewers, I was astounded by the end result that this product produced. From one person to another, long or short hair, they all had smooth, shiny and perfectly groomed salon finish hair. After giving it a good month or two of checking reviews etc online, I finally decided to purchase it, and I'm so happy I bought it! My hair looks shiny, sleek and well-groomed, which, in my opinion, is the best way to wear your hair. The best way to use this product for an everyday look, which means no flicky ends for me, is the way Ruth Crilly of A Model Recommends suggests: using the rotating motion with a bit of tension applied at the end of the brush, after you've applied a heat protectant. Another great little thing that I've noticed with the Big Hair is that because it gets each and every strand of your hair down to the ends, if you're in between salon trips and have long hair that has become quite straggly at the ends, this product will smooth them out and make them look a little more presentable.
I haven't mastered it completely yet, I must admit, I do manage to make it a little more frizzier than it should be, but, I'm hoping that in conjunction with my Redken Satinwear (which is due for arrival in the mail) and more practice, I will be able to get the perfect finish that I crave.

Fantastic product, which does what it says on the tin! Athough i would agree with other reviewers that it takes a little practice to get used to directing the spinning action.
Since using the big hair, I am able to style my hair in half the time, and also use it to perk up my style in the morning. I'm growing my hair at the moment and have the 42mm version, but will certainly purchase the larger barrel one when my hair gets longer. In fact, I love it sooo much that I have also bought the USA version to take on holiday with me, (Im in the UK), as its not dual voltage (my only gripe!)

I love this styler! Got it for Christmas as a present. First time I tried it, I managed to tangle my hair pretty bad. Nothing serious, got it out with a brush. 2nd time using it got the hang of it straight away. Doesn't give as much volume as the picture suggests however my boyfriend (who is hair-illiterate) noticed that my hair was definitely bouncier which is a plus! Works best if hair is around 70-80% dry.

A disappointment. Can imagine that this would perform well on medium-long hair.
Definitely best avoided, however, by those with short hair.

Had to return it after one use my hair kept catching in it , snapped my hair off ! And really didnt do a great job on my hair as far as any curl or volume. Not worth the money.

This is a great product to use. Shame it only lasts such a short time! I have now had THREE Big Hair. On the first one, after seven months it stopped rotating. The second one burnt out after 7 months! The third one has also just packed up today (after - guess what? - yes, 7 months!). I've now got to go through all the hassle over all over again. It's beyond me why a company that knows this is happening (and there are sites all over the net with people saying exactly the same as me) don't do something to make the product more robust. The frustration is that this is the only product like this on the market, so there is no competition.

I have a love hate relationship with this product. I got my first one around a year and a half ago as I knew it would be perfect for my very curly, hard to blow dry hair. It makes my hair look like I've had a salon bkow dry and makes my hair 10 times easier to style. My sisters saw the resukts and both bought themselves one also, and I'd say between the 3 of us we probably have convinced about 5 other people to buy one. The major problem I have with this product is that they break. They give off a burning smell and then after you turn it off it does not turn back on. As we were obsessed we kept buying new ones( they were £10 in as a here in the UK for a limited time) it has now happened to our 4th one between us and are now in the process of contacting babyliss to get something done. But I don't ever want to stop using it as I love it so much ahhh! :(

i used to love this styler when i first bought it. it made hair look more shiny and bouncy. but i have already returned one unit back because it stopped rotating and now the 2nd one i have is starting to slow down. i don't now if anybody else has also had this problem. also, my hair started breaking a lot since i started using it- i guess i am pulling to hard, or using it more than strictly necessary! anyways, good styler and i am going to put it away to use on special occasions only!

I love this - it has made a huge differnce to my hair which is wavy and course. After using this my hair is smooth, shiny and bouncy - it looks as if I have just been to the hair dresser.

I so wanted to love this. I have long hair and love a good blowout. I also wanted to be able to do my hair without holding two arms overhead. This is better than a crappy hotel hairdryer, but that's about all I can say for it. It does a nice job putting bounce and wave into the ends, but it is too bulky to give a good effect near the roots. Also, it broke my hair terribly if I tried to get close enough to the roots to get volume. This doesn't happen with my T3 dryer and a good round brush. Now I use this on the under layers of my hair and finish the top layers with a blowdryer and brush. It works best if you let your hair partially air dry or partially dry it with a regular dryer. The bristles are kind of cheap and are flattening out. I've had it seven months and have used it an average of twice a week, maybe less. One good thing about it is it's a little easier to travel with than my travel T3 dryer and a round brush. It comes with a plastic sleeve that fits over the bristles.

I love this. It makes me able to get better results in fifteen minutes than an hour of blow drying my hair with a round brush. The only reason I took one lippy off is because the product does have a very cheap plasticy feel about it. If this product had a quality of say a ghd styler I would be in heaven!
Age: 25-29 Skin: Very Dry, Fair Hair: Brown Eyes: Grey
I absolutely love this product! I have very fine, flat and generally "blah" hair that is also wavy and generally a nightmare to work with - or at least until the Babyliss Big Hair came along. Now my hair is super shiny, bouncy and soft just like after a professional blow dry! I was never able to replicate the way my hair was styled in the salon, so would have to resort to using GHDs 3-4 times a week to get my hair to look in any way decent. Now I don't need to use my GHDs because the Babyliss Big Hair blow dries my hair straight, but with more volume than the GHDs. On the past 2 occasions that I have used GHDs since getting the Babyliss Big Hair I've actually been really disappointed with the results because my hair actually looks too straight and much finer than when I use the Big Hair. And best of all my hairdresser says that my hair is in much better condition since I've been using it!
I have the smaller barrelled version, which is a pink colour as opposed to the purple coloured version above and it's great for the shoulder length bob I have, so if you have shorter hair this is definitely the one to look for. When I bought it the pink one was exclusive to Argos, but I'm not sure if you can get it elsewhere now. All in all this is the best hair product I've bought all year and I've preached to all my friends about it. I almost wish I hadn't though as now they all know the secret behind my great hair!

This product is amazing! It leaves shiny and soft hair, straight but with sexy volume. It cuts down the time that you spend doing your hair. It's not expensive for what you get, (mine was like 50 dollars). I almost dry my hair with a blowdryer and then use this to get hair in shape. I use it with the redken smooth down line and i get the most amazing results every time. This is a keeper.

Run and get this. I am afraid of GHD damage and never cared much for the flat-ironed look in the first place. This gives you polished, voluminous hair with very little effort. A true wonder.

First let me say, when it comes to hair I'm lazy & lack much skill when it comes to styling. My constant moaning about my boring, flat hair led my husband to buy me the Big Hair Styler as a gift. I was delighted. Its actually really good. I'm always a bit sceptical when it comes to styling tools but this is a really useful.
The barrel is a really good size and kicks out a fair bit of heat. It has three heat settings and two speeds at which the barrel rotates. I found that for I do need to rough dry with a hair dryer first but I'd do that before I started styling my hair with a hair dryer, brush and rollers anyway. I find the medium setting is the most useful as the barrel rotates more quickly on the hottest setting and I found that the more slowly it rotates the better root lift it achieves.I also like the cooler setting to help 'fix' the style.
It takes a few attempts to get the technique mastered as I kept rotating the brush the wrong way at first and ended up with some crazy tangles but it was worth the perserverance.
I've spent hours trying to replicate the brush skills of a stylist when blow drying my own hair and this product has helped me get close to that. You know that thing they do when they use the hair dryer to hold the hair up whilst they reposition the brush? I can do that now but using a vent brush to catch hair whilst moving the styler back to the roots!!!
After using the Big Hair Styler I feel like I've had a professional blow dry, my hair is full of bounce and super shiney. I use this styler most days now. I don't think it'll ever replace my hair dryer but its definately a keeper.

I needed to break the habit of GHD-ing 4+ times per week and this is the perfect tool. I have been using it for approximately three weeks and the condition of my hair is improving already. Use when hair is almost dry and do it in two sections, underneath first, then top. Doesn't take too long to get used to and it's kinda fun. You can go sleek or Farah Fawcett :)

This product is selling like crazy here in Egypt and I am so glad I got for the best price :) I thought I would get the rotating big brush and just an extra ceramic comb with settings for different hair textures , but I got THREE more attacments with a nice pvc zipped bag as well.. WOW what a great deal and product, I got an extra nozzle to use it as regular air dryer , a static meduim air brush , the ceramic comb with settings and of course the big rotating brush with protective plastic head ..still experimenting with it but the results are amazing ...I strongly recommend it for girls like me who have thick , long (almost past my waist ) hair , that has a bit of frizz and flying hair to it but not wavy or defined with nice curls at the same time.
Edit : OOOPs I think I reviewed another similar product I have the Beliss 1000 watt 2735E product which you can switch attachment with AND it has a cool air setting ...I think both give great results .

I got this after reading some reviews on MUA, and watching a few You Tub tutorials. My hair has been straightened for over ten years, and I'm desperate to try another way to style it.
Firstly, I was surprised at how big it is. It's about three times the thickness of a pair of GHDs, although it is very light and easy handle.
I find the way to get best results is to blow dry your hair from the underneath out (upside down), or else the top of your hair is too dry by the time you've finished for the Styler to work best. Dry your hair until about 80-85% dryness. Actually using the Styler does take practice. When I first used it, I was totally underwhelmed, until I realised my hair had been too dry, and I'd not been pulling the Styler to create tension.
After a big of practice, the Styler is now my preference over GHDs. I've even started to find the "straight" GHD effect is too lank and doesn't look as healthy as when I've used the Styler. However, my only downside is that the Styler does take a little longer than the GHDs - but that's probably due to lack of practice/it being a lot of fun!
Overall, a staple product and I'm really glad I purchased. Managed to find in Currys for £29.99.

I have long hair past my shoulders. It's fine, wavy-ish, and I've quite alot of it. Before finding this godsend product, I would have to resort to straighteners to tame my hair which left it quite flat, and during the working week I wouldn't bother so ended up wearing my hair in a bun or a ponytail most of the time. Not any more. This product is amazing. I blowdry my hair with my regular hairdryer until it's 90% dry, then roughly section off and finish off with the Big Hair. It works like a hairdresser would dry your hair with brushes, and the result is sleek goddess hair that I would never in a million years have the time, inclination or talent to achieve. It looks quite big but is made of lightweight plastic. It's not the most gorgeous tool in the world but I've had it for a few weeks now and wouldn't be without it. Find of the decade.

This product is fantastic. My previously untameable frizzy ends no longer need to be flat ironed every day and I leave home looking like I've been to the hairdresser! Although cumbersome, its easy to use and works best after my hair is about 80per cent dry.Its also great at giving hair volume and bounce.
