I am once again amazed by the quality of an L.A. Colors product. This is an incredibly vibrant red that works well against my neutral-cool toned skin. It does not have any yellow or blue undertones that I can pick up, it doesn't have any shimmer or gloss and it isn't pearly. I don't need a lip balm under this as it is very moisturizing. Much more so than higher end reds I've tried. It does help to put on some lip balm, you just don't NEED to.

The thing that really wowed me though was the staying power. I put it on late afternoon and was chewing on my lips a lot. Then I took a shower and washed my face and when I went to brush my teeth it was still on. I brushed my teeth and then brushed my lips and my lips were still reddish (as was my toothbrush). I actually had to work at it to remove the color. I was VERY impressed. Not even my Chanel red lipstick has staying power like that!

My one complaint is the same for all L.A. Colors lipsticks. I hate the packaging with a passion. The lid stick and is difficult to get off without hitting the lipstick inside (I'm going to decapitate it one of these days). It also looks tacky.

In short I am blown away by the quality of this lipstick.

I really like this lipstick! It's not too much, not too little.

Pros:
-Creamy
-VERY pigmented
-Brightly colored
- Lasts a long time ( about 6 hours)

Cons:
- The packaging is a little cheap, but overall is great.

I LOVE THIS STUFF.
When I bought this I expected it to be poorly pigmented, so I could put it on and it would give me a "tint" of color.
Not really.
It is so pigmented, you only have to use a little.
I want to go back and buy every color.
And for a dollar, this stuff is amazing!
I have urban decay stuff that doesn't live up to this.

L.A. Colors Expressions Cherry Red Lipstick

I got this lipstick at the Dollar Tree. I wasn't expecting much TBH, I have never purchased m/u at DT and I was skeptical. After seeing some reviews/swatches/YT tutorials I decided to give L.A. Colors a try.

The name Cherry Red is a little misleading. I expected a cool shade. On my pigmented lips this shade looks warm and like a tomato. I LOVE IT! I had no other m/u on and this l/s brightened my face instantly. It looks vintage, glam and sexy. All for a dollar!

There is a scent but it is pleasant, the wear was pretty decent and it didn't immediately feather into my liplines. After a couple of hours it needed retouching but wearing a red lip is high maintenance IME. The texture was smooth. On my lips it appears satin like. No gloss, sparkle, not overly matte. The only flaw is that it is a little drying after a while. If your lips have a tendency to dry out apply a lip balm underneath.

The packaging is tacky. The cap is clear, the l/s doesn't roll all the way down, and the brand name is on the side. I personally don't mind, I'll just retouch discreetly:)

I think anyone looking for an inexpensive red should try L.A. Colors Cherry Red. Another alternative (my fave until I discovered this one) is NYC Retro Red.

Five lippies all the way around. This l/s really surprised me! I want to get a backup:)
