Just like the Suave conditioner in the Waterfall Mist scent, this performs fabulously as either a co-wash or regular conditioner. The scent is light and pleasant and not overpowering at all. It leaves my hair soft and shiny. No complaints here--excellent product at an insanely low price!

I am surprised there isn’t a review listed for this yet…
Anyways, I purchased this because I decided to try the CG (Curly Girl) Method again – which means you use conditioner in place of shampoo (“CO-washing”) and do not use sulfates or silicones. The suave naturals are very popular for co-washing because they are cheap, silicone free, and have very gentle cleansing abilities for the scalp.
Ever since suave discontinued their healthy curls line years ago, I have had little desire to try anything from their line. I remember using/liking their stuff, but I guess it just reminds me too much of when I was a kid – I lived with my single father and 2 sisters and sauve was all he would buy us until we were old enough to have jobs and buy our own personal care items. It took a bit of convincing to try this again, but I am glad I did.
I have naturally very curly hair (3b) that is dry, prone to breakage and frizz, and that tangles like no ones business, no matter how hard I try. In conditioners I want something that will detangle and hydrate my hair, not leave it coated or stringy. I also sometimes have a dry scalp (I have dry skin) that can be flaky at times, especially since I try not to wash it often, since my hair doesn’t like being shampooed.
After reading a lot of reviews on other suave conditioners, I was a little worried. Some people say they are very runny/watery. When I first squeezed some out, I was pleasantly surprised. It is rather creamers, and I would say medium thickness.
It detangles very well. I need to use a lot to detangle, but it is so cheap, I don’t really care. I have always had to use at least a palm full of conditioner anyways, so that’s nothing new.
As for hydration, it’s pretty good, but nothing amazing. I sometimes follow up with a ‘rinse out’ conditioner that is more moisturizing, but on most days, this is enough for me. I also use it as a leave in. I mixed it with 1 part conditioner and 1 part distilled water, and it’s still really thick. I spritz it on my hair whenever I feel like it is a little dry or frizzy.
It also does make me feel like I have a clean scalp after using. The trick is to really work it into the scalp so I massage it in for about 3 minuets, until my hands are tired. Since I am not using detergents, and there is no lather, you really need friction to loosen up any build up. My scalp is clean and hydrated after this process. I haven had dry/flaky/itchy scalp in weeks – I am impressed.
Between using this, and cutting down my shampooing, my hair is a lot more hydrated and much easier to manage.
I bought the family size for under $2 and it has lasted me a few weeks. (It’s typical for me to finish a bottle in 2 weeks anyways) It’s really a great deal. I would continue to use this weather or not I was doing the whole “CG Method” thing or not.
The packaging I think is awesome. It’s easy to squeeze out – in fact, it took some getting used to. The plastic is very pliable, so you can squeeze it easily with one hand. The flip top seems sturdy, yet still easy to open one handed. The lid does not collect much water either. It can be stood on the cap when it gets close to empty. I can’t believe how impressed I am with the packaging, as most other brands I think their packing sucks. It's also pretty to look at - I don't thick it looks all that cheap at all.
The scent is great – it smells fresh and clean. I can’t really describe it, as I don’t know what water lily & aloe is supposed to smell like, but I really like it.
This one includes aloe & vitamin E. Different fragrances have different added ingredients like this, but they are pretty low on the list, so I am not sure how much of a difference they make – I guess I will find out though, because I am going to try some of the other scents. However, I am sure I will come back to this scent at some point.
