I picked up a travel size for 99 cents at walgreens. They had the healing cream & healing lotion. I'm unsure of the difference. So far I like the healing cream. It's not too thick or too thin. It sinks right into the skin. It's not greasy. It's smooth once applied & rubbed in. It has the carmex scent but very light. I like it & would purchase a larger size.

It does help moisturize without a greasy feel. I don't mind the scent, but it may bother some. Personally, I wouldn't use it around others since the scent can bother some people.

Saw this product on clearance at Walgreens for $2 and I decided to try it. Turns out I absolutely love it! I actually regret not getting the other ones that were along with this one. It's regular price might be a bit high but it's totally worth it. I love the scent and feel it leaves behind while moisturizing dryness.

It's been about a month since I bought the Carmex Healing Cream and have been using it every day. My verdict? I am loving it so far! I haven't tried the lotion version yet so I can't compare but I like that this cream is not too heavy and doesn't leave me feeling greasy after putting it on -- which is mainly on my hands and heels. It is the only cream so far that keeps my heels soft until the next morning. I know some people may be put off by the smell but I actually like it -- it's not too strong and doesn't give me a headache. I carry this around in my purse, wherever I go! Definitely give it a try.

I got 2 little tins of this cream because they're light weight to carry in my purse. My skin is very dry and my hands chap easily from the weather. I didn't realize the cream would smell just like the original Carmex lip treatment, a medicinal, mentholated sort of scent. It does fade to a lighter sweeter scent, but I would not classify it at all as a food-y type sweet, more like medicated balm you use for sore muscles. Its a thick white cream that feels somewhat cool going on, but not as much as say a peppermint type foot lotion. It's not "cosmetically elegant," in that it does not make my dry, chapped hands look smoother, more moisturized. In fact oddly enough it seems to highlight their dry appearance at least at first. I have only begun using it so these are first impressions. I am now using it as a foot cream at night, saving the tin to put my Nivea (blue tin) in, since that makes parched skin gleam a bit and feel better. I won't keep using on my hands even if there are longer term benefits to be had in time. Thd reason being that I absentindedly touch my face, rub my eyes etc. I don't want to accidentally get any product with ingrediants that cause it to have a mentholated scent, get near my eyes, or on my face which is very sensitive. I see many like it but speaking for the tin alone which is meant to be toted along in a purse, its not good for that purpose if you apply hand cream during the day at work, or around others due to the strong scent.

I have dry, cracked knuckles from washing my hands so much at work. I tried quite a few lotions and this was the only one that helped. It's thick and rubs right into my skin. It has a very light sweet vanilla-y scent. I also like that it has a flip-top lid. I'm so glad a friend gave this to me because I may never have tried it on my own. They also sell little tins of this and they're great for travel but a little messy to use.

I love this healing cream!! I have exzema and after using this cream it has really helped "calm" my skin from the dry and itchy patches. I wouldn't say its a miracle cream but it works better than the pricer drugstore creams and lotions. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is because I am not a big fan of the signature carmax scent, however it fades into a very light vanilla scent after you have it on a while. I will definately repurchase!

This review is for both the lotion and the healing cream. I bought a trial size of the lotion because the name and packaging caught my attention- and to see if it smells like Carmex lip balm. It does! You decide if that's a good thing. Personally, I like it, and it reminds me of my mom and sister, who swear by Carmex.
So I decided to buy the full size tube. I asked a friend to pick it up, and she got the cream by mistake. I was disappointed because the cream doesn't work as well as an everyday lotion. It doesn't really absorb in the skin right away, and didn't seem to soften my hands at all.
But I tried it on my very dry heels, and they looked better right away. Then I noticed that they still looked good the next night, after my shower. No speciality foot cream or anything else I've ever tried has done that. Then I noticed that, overall, my hands look much better and less chapped. The label is right, the cream is a treatment, the lotion is for everyday use. I suggest using the cream before bed. The lotion is great for applying throughout the day, like after washing your hands, but the cream is really too heavy to work that way.

Oh, my goodness. This stuff is magic. I'm surprised that people didn't find it moisturizing enough - I have eczema and this cream feels great. Menthol and camphor help to dry out any oozy flaky bits (sorry, that's gross) and the lanolin and other stuff soothe really well. While I do use this on my legs after shaving to cut down on the razorbump/eczema combo that I tend to get, my favorite way to use this is on my feet.
I walk a lot in heels, and there's something about this cream that just instantly makes my chapped, blistered, tired sore old feet feel like a million bucks. I feel like the menthol and camphor kind of cool them off and make them less swollen without smelling like a tub of Tiger Balm, and the cream is thick and rich enough to make my calluses almost nonexistent in just a few weeks. I just put it on before bed, wear socks and voila! I wake up to prettier feet. A few people have asked me lately if I'd gotten a pedicure, so I figured I had to write a review because it's all just polish and Carmex healing cream. HG foot cream, for sure - gonna pick up another tube or seven on my way home tomorrow.
Also, the smell is the most scrumptious thing. It's a little like Carmex lip balm, but lighter and softer.

I wanted to love this stuff. I waited for Walgreen's to have a BOGO sell & went and picked two of these up. I figured I would get the cream, because I wanted it for my dry hands. I'm a stay at home mom and I am constantly cleaning with my hands in and out of water. In the evenings I always slather my hands in hand cream before bed to try and help with my miserable hands. Well this stuff just doesn't do the trick. I am soo disappointed! !! Going on it feels fine, but after the cream sinks in it makes my hands feel sticky and dry. I just can't even really explain it. Will not buy again and am extremely disappointed! !!

I love this hand cream BUT it's sporadic at solving my dry-hand problem. I need a product that doesn't leave my hands greasy & doesn't make them dry after 10 minutes either. Sometimes this creams, & sometimes I doesn't seem to. Maybe it depends on the weather or how much I use hot water?
Contains menthol & camphor, which I believe are drying. Why would Carmex put that in there? Perhaps those are the ingredients that result in a non-greasy feeling after applying this lotion. That's great, it's what I need. But it's not what I need if it's also further drying my hands. For now I'll rate it a 4 - I like it but it's not perfect.
Ingredients:
Water, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lanolin, Dimethicone, Allantoin (Comfrey Root), Beeswax, Cetyl Esters, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (Cocoa), Mineral Oil, Propylene Glycol, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Salicylic Acid, Diazolidinyl Urea, Camphor, Menthol, Vanillin, Fragrance
UPDT 4/7/11 -
Doesn't serve my purposes for comfortable hands at work (frequent hand washing). Went back to my trusty Vaseline Sheer Infusion, which leaves my hands comfortable but neither greasy nor dry again in 10 min. Dropped down my rating from 4 to 2. Maybe this lotion is protective, but it isn't very moisturizing at all.
