Does John Frieda 3-day Straight work? Yes and no.

I was dying to try it from the moment I heard the name of it. I realized quickly from online research that this isn't a true chemical straightener. Yeah, your hair will stay straight for 3 days if you use this, but only if you don't wash it. And if you're like me, you would look DISGUSTING if you didn't wash your hair for three days.

I have very fine, thin, shoulder-length hair that is ALWAYS frizzy and crazy, especially in the humid climate where I live. My hair fell out due to health reasons and when it grew back in, whoa, so curly, and not in a good way. I've tried to embrace my curls, but they just aren't ME, ya know? Plus, it's difficult for me to get them right. Unfortunately, even with a hair straightener, getting my hair STRAIGHT is impossible, too.

Enter: 3-day straight.

This product was made for people like me. You won't spritz it on and have instantly straight hair. You will still have to STRAIGHTEN your hair. People with hair like mine will understand this. Even when I flat iron my hair, it STILL frizzes up, even if I put on anti-humidity creme and everything. That's why this product is great. It really did keep my hair striaght and flat, even in intense humidity, even when I sweat. Is it perfect? No. But it's the closest thing to perfect that I've found.

It doesn't make my hair greasy. I like the texture of my hair when I use this. It makes me hair a little flat, but hey, I'll trade that any day if straight comes with it.

This is a great product, and if you have realistic expectatinos, I know you will be pleased with it. I'm really grateful for this stuff.

I bought this because of all the great reviews. I have medium thick natural curly/wavy long hair. I followed the instructions - immediately noticed as I was blowdrying my hair became tangled and more frizzy than normal and it was getting harder to get the brush through. It feels awefull and did not help one bit infact I believe it made my hair worse. Going to stick with my L'Oreal argan oil sleek - works better.

I have very thick curly frizzy crazy hair, but i straighten daily, i use tresme split end remedy shampoo and cond. then i usually use their serum on the ends of my hair b/c their really damaged but the rest of my hair is really healthy, so i decided that this was the spray for me i was so excited when i bought it. When i went to use it i was suprised how much sprayed out, kinda a lot and i have thick hair even, i then commed my hair like it had said, i left it in for maybe like 10 min before i blow dryed my hair and i could tell already that it was getting sticky..after i used my flat iron, which is a really good expensive one i should say, my hair was supper sticky and dryed out, i was supper mad b/c i could get my hair straighter w/out this stupid spray and make it look supper healthy w/out it too, but i couldnt re wash my hair and fix it all over again, so i went for a walk came back and my hair was kinda big from the wind, so i decided to straighten it again just to see what it would look like..to my suprise the second time i flat ironed my hair seemed to work a lot better idk if it was the wind or what but my hair wasent sticky or dryed out any more it was sleek and shinny and really straight and kinda flat i straighten the s#** outa my hair but i still can give it body, but i really didnt care if it was fat...but i did have to touch it up the next day but it still wasent sticky which is good..in conclusion i wouldnt buy this product again and i am pretty sure this product works better on hair that isnt dyed or damaged..

I bought this stuff in the clearance and it came with the john frieda finishing cream and i know i love that product already. I bought the set because it was on sale for 5 dollars CND and i know purchasing both products alone is like 10 dollars each, so it was defiantly a steal. Im not going to go and say this stuff make my curly hair straight, because it didnt. But i will say this stuff made my hair amazing! my hair is incredibly soft and i have less frizz and this stuff makes the apperience of my split ends less visible. I willl repurchase for sure! this stuff is amazing!

The first day I used this product, it worked really well. My hair looked a lot smoother, silkier, and shinier. The only complaint I had at the time was the texture of my hair was kinda sticky, even after straightening, and it seemed to knot-up a lot. The next day, my hair was still generally straight but needed touchups, which was fine. The second time I used it, it didn't seem to work as well as the first time. And then today, my hair felt really gross and dry, even though I used a lot less product. I normally shampoo every other day my hair felt so dreadful, I washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo twice - even as I was shampooing, my hair felt like STRAW! My hair still feels terrible and I didn't use any of the 3 day straight. I assume it's a case of protein overload in my hair considering the huge amount of keratin in the product. It's so wierd that this happened to me, especially considering the great reviews.

And it's kinda pricey for a drug store brand considering its in such a small spray bottle......

I have very thick curl hair, which luckily enough is quite good at holding any style. To get it straight I do have to use straighteners and this was no exception.
The difference is, now my crappy straighteners (Husband broke my GHDs - sob) actually do their job which is fab and my hair is straight! Can't say for the staying power, but I used about 20 spritzes on my shoulder length hair, blow dried then straightened the morning after. Hair is straight and has that 'done in a hairdresser' texture which I have never been able to replicate at home.
Very pleased. It's a little pricey at £6.99 per bottle, especially as my hair drinks product, but I can't afford new GHDs for a while so this will have to do!

This is an amazing product! My hair is fine and curly and it completey smooths it out . I could go without touching it up with a 1and one half inch curling iron but feel the need to get some lift in the crown . A previous reviewer stated a sticky feeling on her hair. This happened to me when I used to much product. My hair is short, and 3-4 squirts of this is all I need for whole head. I bought the very small almost trial size of this stuff and I am still using it after 2 weeks. My hair is no longer frizzy and has remained so 3 days. ( I did get my neck hair wet in the shower and just redried it).

I thought this product would work well on my hair as its only slightly wavey, i did every thing i have read that you should do with the product, after blow drying completly dry it felt sticky, after i had used the straightening tongs, my hair looked ok, no different from any other product, the next morning, i brushed it, it was still sticky and NOT straight, through out the day my hair returned to normal, i would never buy this product again.

I made the unfortunate mistake of getting a body wave in my hair a couple of years ago to try to add body. While it did add body, it mostly added frizz and tangles. I started using 3-day Straight and this problem was no more. I will still sometimes spray some on freshly washed hair at the nape of the neck to keep it from tangling. It does not appear to cause any damage, either. Great product for anyone wanting sleek hair.

I find that most products that remove frizz also remove every bit of body from my hair, and I end up looking like the end of a broom. Tried this one, and it is the best I've found so far. The secret to me is to not use too much. There is a temptation to spray it like it's hairspray. Three or four spritzes on my ends, then comb through. Air dry for as long as possible, THEN blow dry. My hair is shiny, and straight, even in humid weather. It seems too that there is a protector that helps with flat ironing. ( I have a serious flat iron addiction, and have often worried that I will wake up one morning with my hair left on the pillow.) Another bonus is that it doesn't discolor hair. Many products have an amber cast that can change hair color. This one seems to be fine. I think it's the heat protector in it. I find, too, that if I use a clarifying shampoo once a week, it removes product residual to avoid limpness over time.

Sprayed onto my thick Asian hair and blow dried - still ended up with frizz two different times. Decided to use it once more before throwing it out and realized it works! I was just not drying my hair COMPLETELY - your hair must be fully dried for this to work. Your hair will stay straight until your next shampoo. I can't believe I finally found my HG hair product. I have spent $$$ on all sorts of straightening sprays/balms/pastes and this is the only one I have found that works!

I have coarse, frizzy hair that is very difficult to straighten. This product makes it a lot easier and keeps the frizz at bay after I straighten. I also find I can get a nice look using just the hair dyer alone (no straightening iron) when I use this product. It does feel weird in your hair while you are dying, almost a gummy/sticky feeling but that is gone once your hair is dry. The only thing I don't like is I found that the spray was difficult to control, it sprays everywhere in a large mist which is good for covering the hair but when spraying the front of my head it tends to get all over my face. Would repurchase, this is one of my favourite if not my favourite straightening product.

A staple because I straighten my hair every day. Makes the straightening last longer even in humidtiy, less frizz, hair soft, non-greasy, nice scent, greatly lessens the time it takes to straigten my hair. About $11 at Superstore (Canada).

I probably wouldn't purchase this again although I will most likely use up the rest of the bottle. Tried this for the first time last night and loved the soft, silky straight results I got on my medium-thick, wavy long hair after using about 10 sprays, blowdrying, and flat-ironing. However, when I woke up this morning, my hair was just a flat wavy mess (I was hoping to leave for work with no need to restyle my hair). Some people have had luck with this doing what it's really supposed to do, but unfortunately I'm not one of them. For me, it works well only on day one.

Love this product. I live in Florida and my hair immediately frizzes. Tried this product and it leaves my hair super soft and straight, even after having it up in a ponytail. I use it with the Conair Spin Brush, my hair looks salon perfect.

It works for me. My hair isn't super curly, just wavy but it is day 3 and it is still as straight as day one, and that is after sleeping on it and it has been quite humid. Doesn't make my hair feel gross either like other products, I can't stand it when my hair is untouchable.

I usually use Paul Mitchell's 'Super Skinny Serum' to straighten my hair but decided to try this after reading some great reviews of it. I've got naturally pretty thick curly/wavy hair that falls just below my coller bone. I actually didn't apply much of the product to my hair at all. I believe I only did 2 sprays on each side of my head, then combed it through to make sure it distributed evenly before begining to blow dry as usual. After just blow drying my hair felt thick and greasy like I'd had some conditioner left in it. It got worse after straightening it, overall save your cash!

Don't overuse and must flat iron. I live in Miami and it is 95% humidity and my hair did last three days. I would buy again.

Does exactly what it says it will do !

This is one of my staple hair products, it makes my blow drying time literally cut in half, and keeps my hair straight (through sleeping, humidity, you name it!)

Only downside is that if I use more than a couple sprays, my hair is pretty flat and weighed down. I usually only buy this product on sale, as I think it's a bit overpriced for a drug store styling product.

I have fine but coarse curly hair, which is thin up top. I used this on the top of my hair as that is what gets the frizziest, but it makes my hair super greasy. I used it the day before I went to my hairdresser and she said it was like i had greased the top of my head and it made my thin areas show up really bad. I had high hopes for this and it may work well for some that have really thick dry hair but if you have thin hair on top that is prone to be oily it's just gonna make it look worse imo. It would have also been nicer if it didn't come out in one continuous spray so that you can control the quantity more.
