I loved my Clarins facial sunscreen but I really hated the price. I saw this in the health food store and decided to try it. It had the most natural ingredients I could find. The previous reviewer's comments about the consistency are correct, this is thick stuff and doesn't spread the best. I find that if I am using it without makeup, I can use it alone, but if I plan on wearing makeup, I mix it with the Eucerin spf 30 face lotion for a little bit of slip. It's then spreadable although still thick. The thickness of this makes it feel a little like a balm and therefore I'm finding it performs well as a makeup primer. How does it perform? I went snowshoeing with this and only reapplied once and the sun was brutal that day and we were at high altitude. I didn't burn or get any color at all and people really roasted that day. It's a very good product for sports because of it's tenacity. I've been using this for several months and have not had any acne issues.

Brace yourself for the truly best sunscreen ever. I have fair skin that burns easily and is VERY sensitive to chemical SPFs. I spent my youth in the sun unprotected or with baby oil. Not surprised I now have these issues. Last summer I went on a house boat for a week and had serious concerns about getting sunburned. I started searching for Natural Sunscreens. I found this. Beyond Coastal's products we originally for active athletes (skiers, surfers, mountain climbers, etc.)

Here's the beautiful part; I applied this in the morning and after swimming and I did not burn, or breakout or anything. My skin was just fine.

Here's the not so beautiful part; the consistency. It is thick and goes on with a white-ish tint until absorbing. If wet is stays white-ish. I have not tried this under makeup so I have no idea how it would look.

I don't notice it on my skin unless I touch it. It feels a tad bit matte tacky, not sticky, not greasy, not heavy.
