This mascara has been in my make up bag for ages, however I noticed the packaging has changed and so has the brush, when it was in the blue tube I loved it but since its changed I hate it!

I brush is to big and doesn't grab my lashes properly and its hard to build up, the mascara isn't as sticky as it used to be and seems very thin.

luckily enough in some shops I can still get hold of the "old version" of the volume flash, but how long for I don't know, I know I won't be buying this one!

Worst waterproof mascara I ever bought in my entire life. I was hoping that it will hold my curl because every waterproof mascara that I had even got always hold my curl. This mascara also give me raccoon eyes too.

Not the worst mascara, it's better than many others. It coats nicely and it gives some fullness. But not nearly as much length, definition or thickness as L"oreal's Voluminous. It doesn't smuge right away, but you will start getting racoon eyes if you wear it for more than 12 hours. It's also not good at holding a curl, even with a heated curler! A mascara that won't hold a curl is a dealbreaker. Will not be buying again.

Oh my goodness, I def don't think I'll ever be going back to rimmel for mascara. I'm the kind of girl that's very picky when it comes to mascara and I've bounced around from very high end to drugstore brand. I decided to pick this up because it was waterproof, easy on the budget and ofc because of it's too cute hot pink tube. I wanted so badly to like this mascara but I just could not get it to work for my lashes. It didn't do anything except leave my lashes a big clumpy mess if I even tried to put more than one coat on. Pro: It was really waterproof, I've cried in the mascara and it never ran down my face. Con: clumpy,"wet", hard to handle wand, hard to remove. Overall I would only recommend this to someone who is used to only putting on one coat of mascara and wants a very basic look.

Love this mascara. It's cheap and it works for my lashes. Brings them out and makes them look thick. If you have thick lashes then I highly recommend you use this !

I've come to add to the less-than-impressed reviews of this product. I just can't get on with this mascara at all, even though I wanted to love it. I have short, sparse and straight lashes so I'm not working with a lot in the first place and this mascara made the task that much harder. As soon as I pulled the wand out I noticed that it was clumpy and even after wiping the excess off onto a tissue the clumps transfered to my lashes. I found the formula to be thick yet dry, so it was flaking off even as I was applying, which made it difficult to build up layers. By the time I got to my second coat it was looking awful. No volume, just flaky, clumpy lashes. I love the bright packaging but it's what's inside that counts and for me, this was rubbish. I'm giving it 1 lippie because it lives up to its waterproof claim. I've kept it as an emergency mascara, but even then I think I'd rather go without. Disappointed that I wasted the money, as for my budget even Rimmel mascaras are on the pricey side. I looked on the Boots website and they're selling for £6.69. Perhaps it would work better for someone with longer lashes? I'm not sure but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for women with lashes like mine. It hasn't put me off trying other Rimmel mascaras though, I'll just steer clear of the Volume Flash ones!

Let me start off by saying I have sparse lashes. I need volume more than I need length, and when I ran out my current mascara ( CG LB), I decided to try something different. I picked up this Rimmel mascara as the name " volume flash the MAX waterproof" seemed to fit the bill for my lash needs. Besides the hot pink packaging suckered me...love pink! lol.

This mascara did give my sparse lashes volume without clumping. I used 2-3 coats. I was impressed with the results, but my complaint comes with the fact that this masacra is too "wet". Meaning, it coated my lashes fine as the brush picked up enough product when pulled from the tube, but the formula itself was wet to where it took FOREVER to dry. When I'd blink, it would transfer to under my eye area. I let a few minutes pass, as I do my eyes 1st, then my foundation, then back to do my lower lash line with liner and mascara, and when I got to the point of doing my lower lash, the mascara from the top still was wet & smudged underneath. What a PITA to clean it up!

Needless to say, I used up the tube as I didn't want to waste my $, but I will not repurchase. I will stick with my trusty CG LB.

This is the second mascara that I have bought and it was better than I had expected.

Pros: it does add volume to my sparse Asian lashes, I like the packaging, it is waterproof (I tear up easily and the mascara holds), it is relatively easy to remove with normal makeup remover, the formula is fairly wet when I first apply it but dries relatively quickly, gives my lashes a fairly natural look, does length lashes a little bit (might not be as dramatic as some people want it but it suits me fine) and the mascara wand is easy to use.

Cons: on occasion the mascara causes my lashes to clump together when I apply a generous amount, I doubt it added 14X more volume to my lashes (but it might just be because I want a more "natural" look).

My opinion may change as I try other brands' waterproof mascara. But for now, I am quite content with this mascara.

I used to regular formula before and never rebought it because I had too many mascaras and wanted to go through them before I went and rebought this one, well needless to say it went on sale at target and came with a free eyeliner so I bought what I thought was the regular version come to find out it was the waterproof one but I actually love it. I've tried so many waterproof mascaras and they all flack too much and make it beyond difficult to remove at the end of the night, this one is actually the complete opposite I don't have to rub or scrub to make it come off, I just tab and swipe and it's gone. The volume that I get is just amazing I haven't been able to find another mascara to do the same thing as this one. It's a new favorite and I'm def going to keep it around for a while

I sort of understand the reviews on this mascara- too wet of a formula, doesn't hold a curl, etc., because I experienced those things, too, when I first used it. After I put the mascara on, I had about 5 really thick eyelashes. So, I just put it in my drawer and forgot about it for a month, and used a mascara my sister gave me (Lancome Hypnose Waterproof- really good, btw, but it dries out really quickly -___-)

When that mascara dried out, I found this one again, and thought I'd give it another try.

And wow.

This is definitely the best mascara I have ever used. I never understood when people said, 'This mascara leaves my lashes soft!' because who goes around touching their eyelashes? But this mascara makes it feel like I have NO MASCARA on, even with like, FIVE COATS. I have straight, sparse, but fairly long Asian lashes, and some mascaras make my eyelashes longer, but sparser. This mascara doesn't. It elongates, volumizes, and blackens each individual lash, so it looks like I have on fake eyelashes (no joke). It doesn't clump AT ALL, even after 5-6 coats (after a while, I just wanted to keep putting it on to see how long it would take to clump up... never) If you want a natural, fluttery look, one coat will do you, but if you want dramatic, this one's also great!

All in all, amazing, and I would definitely repurchase. The only con is that you have to wait for it to dry out a little before getting the good effects- but it is so worth the wait!

This mascara is very disappointing. For me it did nothing for my lashes, it doesn't even look like I'm wearing mascara at all. It did nothing to lengthen and didn't build up any thickness. It was okay if I used another mascara with it to help build it up, but alone it was useless. I wouldn't buy again or recommend.

I usually am really happy with Rimmel products. But this mascara was really disappointing, I purchased the waterproof version for a wedding. It went on clumpy and seemed very dry. It did not give me much volume at all. :(

I see that the reviews so far - albeit just a few in total - aren't positive. I've had a vastly different experience with this product, though.

I'd recently overhauled my makeup collection & thrown out my old mascara, so I needed a new one in time for a wedding I had to attend. Watsons was having a sale & I got this for SGD13.50 (the original price was still below SGD20). I wore it the next day - it held my curl well, made my lashes look thicker & darker, didn't clump &, despite the ridiculous humidity, never once flaked or smudged. And though I wear contacts & have somewhat sensitive eyes, they weren't irritated at all. My lashes also felt light, as if I wasn't wearing any mascara.

The only issue I have with it is its strong, plastic-like smell &, to a lesser extent, the cheap-looking pink of the packaging. However, if you're on a budget & have long but sparse Asian lashes like mine, I'd recommend this.

Horrible product. I have to agree with the ladies down there, this mascara does not hold curls and it also CLUMPS your lashes. it just looks horrible. After applying this product it literally looked like I had three clusters of gunk on my lashes! Definitely never purchasing this again.

I have to second that this mascara is miserable at holding curls. My lashes are naturally thin but very long and straight, so I always curl my lashes before mascara to avoid that dreaded "visor" effect over my eyes. Poor formula mascaras will pull the curl out and I'll be left with stick-straight lashes with only a tiny bit of lift but still not enough to keep them out of my line of view. This, however, was even worse. Although it didn't pull the curl out initially upon the first few swipes of the brush (which most poor curl holding formulas tend to do), they quickly fell straight downwards after the first coat. I watched in the mirror in horror as I saw the lashes slowly droop further and further down over my eyes until the tips were actually curled downwards. Horrible! I thought mascaras that left me with "visor" lashes were bad, but this even tops those in that it leaves me with lashes that could more accurately be described as "drapes". I waited until the mascara dried and then tried re-curling them, but they would absolutely not stay up and instantly fell back into the same droopy position. Horrible, horrible, horrible! Worst mascara I've ever used! Would highly NOT recommend! I can't comment on the volumizing effects since I never made it past one light coat and they were barely even covered at that point.

I have stick straight Asian lashes, so I only use waterproof formula because that's about the only thing that keeps my lashes curled up all day. However, this mascara fails miserably in holding curls. I have not come across a waterproof mascara that doesn't hold my curls until I came face to face with this one. I curl my lashes, put this mascara on & within seconds, my lashes are back to being stick straight again. I hate it! This formula is very wet & it takes time to dry. That maybe the reason why it doesn't hold curls. I'm not sure. After I used it initially, I gave it time to dry up a little but it still is crappy. It's very clumpy with lumps of mascara in balls which gets stuck in my eyelashes. On a positive note, this mascara is awesome in that it does not transfer so just to use it up I apply it to my bottom lashes only. Once again, it does get clumpy so I have to be very careful & often times, I do have to clean it up afterwards. Also, I like the packaging. It's little cheesy, but I think it's cute. I definitely won't repurchase nor recommend it to anybody.
