Goopey, stringy, and never seems to dry completely. The formula is way too thick even with a brand new bottle! OPI's shatter formula is much better and easier to work with.

YUCK just messy, dries entirely too quick, leaves a very matte pastey feel, reminded me of white-out looks like when applied to the nail when I was a kid (but black of course). Just nasty, I have tried crackle by Sally Hansen waaaayyy better than this & even didn't care much for that either. Def not a success for me!

When the shatter trend was hot I went right out and bought OPI's shatter (in black) and was so disappointed. It was gloopy and SO thick! Then a friend told me China Glaze had their own version coming out so I decided to try it and it was amazing. So much thinner and easier to apply with the same beautiful results. I now have the black, pink and purple Crackle Glazes. I'll never go back to OPI's shatter again.

I have a couple black crackle polishes, and this one is by far my favorite. It was easy to apply, not messy, and crackles nicely!

As for all of the crackle polishes, I've found that you have to shake them really well. I have these in all the colors besides purple, btw. I haven't tried any OPI shatters but I still like this a lot and is the best that I've used (so far).

I love the concept of this but did not like the final result. Yes it was crackly, but it was also messy and thick. it took a while to get the application right and even then, it dried too quick before I was pleased with the result. Gave it away to a friend that had a similar hardship with the product. Officially most hated product in my book.

Definitely a cheaper alternative to OPI's black shatter. It's basically the same and crackles just as much as the shatter would.

I like this for something different but it isn't my favorite. The only color I like it over is white. In my opinion if you put it over any other color the black just over powers it. Application is kind of tricky you can't put to little or too much or go over the same spot twice or it'll mess it up. It's chipped after two days so the staying power isn't that great.

Not a fan of this black crackle from China Glaze. I don't know if I got a bad bottle or what but the formula seemed to be very thick and gloppy.

I never really liked the crackle nail polishes as much, but i do have OPI's silver when it first came out. I figured id try Black since i hate black nail polish and with a color underneath, it may look okay..
My boyfriend said not to get it but i did anyways, and again he was wright as he always is when he says it wont look good. It makes your nails look dirty like you've been playing with car oil... Not flattering. My nails looked like my boyfriends who is an engineer. pshhh. lol returned!

I'm very new to this crackling thing, buying my 1st 2 polishes last Sun. 11/6. Sally Hanson's in the white and gold. They were buy 1 / get one 1/2 off. Wasn't real happy with them even I did everything right, ie, dry undercoat, and trying them with thin, thick, and medium coats. Returned them to Walgreens.

Then went onto eBay purchasing the Black Mesh, Gray Concrete, Tarnished Gold, Broken Hearted and Lightening Bolt. All her polishes other than any metallics are only $3.95, including very fast, free s/h.

I bought these last Tues. and already received them on Thurs.

WELL WHATEVER, I TEND TO RAMBLE.
I've been playing around with my new 'toys' and discovered that the Black Mesh turns into absolutely beautiful cracks over only a coat of 'Instant Dri' topcoat, no nail color. Then putting 2 coats of the topcoats over that. The results are amazing, both delicate and professional looking.

This is a matte black crackle topcoat. I've tried it over a metallic bright blue on my toes and a shimmery orange on my nails, and I absolutely love it - it crackles a lot more than Platinum Pieces, making big, cool-looking fissures. It lasts exceptionally well (almost a week), which is good since multi-layered manicures tend to peel off the next day. Also unlike Platinum Pieces, this didn't start getting goopy after the first use. Can't comment on the price as I received this, along with the Platinum Pieces, as a lovely gift. I anticipate that I'll be using both shades to the last drop!

The crackle effect is perfect, as long as you maintain the polish. Every once in a while I have to thin mine out, and almost every time I open the bottle, I clean around the neck of it. Other than a couple simple steps, this polish is amazing. These things come along with almost all crackle polishes though.
This is a lifesaver when it comes to chipped polish and it is what I put on whenever I get sick of a color. It completely changes the look of any polish you put it on. (; Love it!

I bought this product the other day and I was impressed! It took me a couple of tries to get the application correct. Keep in mind that your base coat of nail polish must be absolutely dry for it to work (my mistake the first time) and secondly you have to apply it quickly and thickly before it starts cracking in one coat (it helped me to do one half of my nail with one stroke and the other half with another stroke with out overlapping them too much as it would cause it not to crackle as much as I like). Good luck! I really liked how mine turned out.

I have tried using this twice now and always on top of dry polish. Whenever I apply a thin layer for finer crackles it just doesn't crackle at all. I have to go over with a second layer but then I get massive deep cracks which I don't always want...The overall look of crackle polish is not exactly classy so I am very underwhelmed. It was to experiment through and will continue trying different colour combos.

Maybe its my application technique, but for me, this is always hit or miss. Sometimes, it crackles great and leaves a really awesome looking design - sometimes, it doesn't crackle at all and just looks like I'm wearing black nail polish. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... I let the base color dry completely so that's not it. It happens sometimes on the same hand (e.g. thumb looks great and my ring finger didn't crackle at all), so it's not a problem with the polish or anything. Will keep trying with this bottle since I already have it and bought it, but probably would not repurchase unless the results change drastically soon.

The trick is to apply this kind of thick and quickly, do not take your time and try to be super precise with it. If you do 3 seperate strokes I find that it creates a stretched out crackle that looks boring, it looks much better when it cracks in a thicker way. My fav polish underneath it is a metallic gold and then I love topping it with tiny gold sparkles. It creates a fun animal print look, I love doing this on my toes right now.

Just bought this with Re-Fresh Mint and painted my nail immediately after I got home. Love the combination and the shattering effect was so pretty!

The formula is thin that it was easy to paint them on my nails, though a thicker coat is better if you don't like fine shattering. It helps if you just take the brush out of the bottle without removing excess and paint the nails directly.
