I have this in Nearly Nude, I think, and honestly, it's not very good. It's VERY drying, much more so than other matte products I've tried. I also find it hard to work with. It doesn't go on smoothly and just feels like a weird layer on my lips. And I absolutely hate the smell. Not buying again.

I bought this in Coral. It's a peachy shade on me. Peach with a tiny touch of pink. Coupled with its opaque, matte texture, I wouldn't consider it an every day shade (for my taste, that is), but a fun Brigitte-Bardot-wear-with-kitten-flicks sort of colour nevertheless. It feels fairly smooth and creamy as it applies, but the matte texture really does highlight any lip lines or cracks or flaws. I've given a decent score for the cute 60s sex-kitten colour, the good coverage and pigmentation, and the low price, but I find the product makes keeping a smooth and even and comfortable finish too much hard work to warrant a repurchase.

I can never find the right lipstick and i didnt try this one yet so i purchased this in nearly nude. I wasnt too impressed. They say its a jumbo stick but this thing broke so easily and it was very thin. It settled into my lips and showed all of the cracks- not flattering. It also made my lips very dry and the corners of my mouth got all weird. The only thing i like about it is that its a lip liner and lipstick

I bought this in Nearly Nude It's not smooth and does settle in every lipline it can find but it's nice with a gloss or creamy lipstick on top and seems to make them last longer, so I use this as a base and it works really well.

I am a big fan of red lips, so I had to try this in Rich Red. It is rich indeed, a lovely cool-toned, highly pigmented red. The formula is a little drying, yes, but that is usually the case with matte lip colors. It lasts a long time and is easy to touch up, since the stick is so slim. The packaging is sleek and looks more expensive than it is!
I'd definitely repurchase this if I ever run out. I see this product lasting a long time, since it's so pigmented.

I was really disappointed in this product. The colour accented every crack in my lip, even when they weren't dry, making them look chapped. It didn't apply smoothly and felt waxy. I didn't have high expectations since it was really cheap, but I would not recommend it.

I have this in Nearly Nude and I love it! I really love a nude lip, but a lot of nudes are peachy, which blend in too much with my NC25 skin. This lip color is a little on the pink side wich allows me to get the nude look I love without looking super super washed out and blended together. I would definitely repurchase this color. At $3, it's a steal! I wouldn't recommend this color on very light or very dark girls, as I just couldn't see it looking all that great. Also, if you have dry lips, this is really going to show that, so I suggest using some kind of scrub and putting on a balm before applying. The staying power is ok. It's not terrible, but it's nothing to write home about which is the reason this gets a 4/5. It's very pigmented and doesn't take coat after coat to get a nice, even, opaque application.

This is a repurchased item for me as I love it that much. I have the colour natural and it's just as the name suggests - its a natural pinky colour. The perfect nude for me as its a 'my lip but better colour'. I wear it everyday. Has good lasting power, no need to sharpen and affordable. Definitely make sure you have exfoliated your lips before you use and even use a lip balm beforehand and it won't be so dry on your lips. It has a bit of a sweet taste to it which I don't mind, and it has a very very slight tackiness to your lips but I think that's why it lasts so long on the lips. Doesn't bother me whatsoever. I definitely recommend the shade 'natural' to those of you who like MLBB colours.

I have these lip colors in Tea Rose, Natural, And a Nude one. Love the Natural color and the Nude color! especially when I have a pretty tinted blush and play up my eyes the subtle natural color makes them POP! with either the natural or nude color. The tea rose color just wasnt a color I would love to wear. Also the packaging is pretty crappy. it looks nice and sleek but after a bit the caps will fall off. One time the natural one I had broke inside the tube so I have to be very careful when applying it. But I do Love love love the natural color, it gives me a nice pale pink lip. Will repurchase despite the crappy packaging.

The Product was very chalky and non usable. I finally had to melt it down and combine it with Maybelliene's Baby lips and had basically change the whole product. Also the product would break off once i rolled it up and tried to put it on.

I have not been a fan of E.L.F lip products. They tend to leave an icky scent/aftertaste. I tried this in Nearly Nude. It is beautiful in the pencil and looks more high end then it is. It applied nicely although it did tug on my lips a little. It left my lips very matte and I added a gloss on top for shine. Maybe because of my fair skin, but this shade took me into corpse terriority.

Love these lipsticks! Glide on easily, don't feel drying and last a pretty decent amount of time! Love the matte finish and the simple packaging.

Bought this at target for $3. Found it to be amazing!!! I liked matte lipstick and this does the trick and lasts for a long time. Definitely a repurchase. I got very red and praline (which is my favorite)...

I actually bought this on accident thinking it was a lip liner. Rich red is a beautiful color, however it was very drying to me

I'm very much a makeup purveyor; there's a lot of products that I want but not very many that I buy. When I saw the ELF Matte Lip Color in store, I decided to take the opportunity to buy it and see whether or not I liked it.
The Matte Lip Colors (which are part of ELF's Studio line, so they cost three dollars) are probably one of the best matte lip products I've ever found. They come in a pen-like shape that reminds me of markers. The packaging is quite sleek and black; only the brand name and product title are printed on the container. Because of that, I'd recommend saving the packaging that has the ingredients and whatnot printed on it.
The design is by far the most ergonomical, truly "on the go" that I've ever seen. The cap is incredibly sturdy, so this is totally purse-safe, and the colored cap on the bottom pulls out of the tube to reveal a handy sharpener (though it's not really necessary, because the actual stick of product is small enough that it's precise even when the tip is flat. The product twists up out of the tube, and there's 0.006 ounces of products (a little more than a third of what you get in a tube of Chapstick).
There's no distinct smell (just that hint of plastic that you get with most lipsticks) and there's not really any taste to it. The texture of the lipstick is smooth, though it's a bit firmer on the lips than your standard lipstick; it's very much like a very creamy lipliner. It's also incredibly matte, which means that this color is a lot more natural looking it would be if it was shiny. It's not a powdery or drying matte; it's actually very smooth and comfortable on the lips.
The color is unlike anything I have (and also very unlike the packaging and the website). I would consider it to be a nude mauvy-purple, but that's coming from something who has kind of purple-tinted lips to begin with. It's basically a purple-like mauve with lighter brown undertones. My mom described it quite perfectly: a "lavender mocha".
It applies quite light, but it does turn a bit darker within ten to twenty minutes of applying it. This was a bit odd, because my lipsticks don't normally oxidize the way this one does, but then again, I've never dealt with this range of colors before.
Like I said, it's absolutely matte, but I did find a couple of items in my collection that looked nice over it. Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipgloss in "Lilac Pastelle" looked quite nice, and a layer of Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in "Berry Rose" (number 500) was also quite beautiful. I tried applying it over Burt's Bees Pomegranate Oil lip balm (which has a slight pink tint to it) and, while this lipstick does not apply over lip balm easily, it gave it a slightly more satiny finish and it was quite beautiful.
Alternately, this could be used as a lipliner with most colors that lean more towards blue. It'd be especially beautiful blended into a baby pink.
Lastly, I would definitely recommend exfoliating and moisturizing before wearing this, because (like most matte lip products) it definitely accentuates lip lines, wrinkles, and cracks.
Overall, it's a great product, and I plan to purchase the rest of the line.

I have this in Praline and Nude, against my Indian skin tone praline is the most gorgeous mauve, its natural and slightly dark, everyone should try this colour! Nude however just looks rubbish on my lips, clashes with my skin tone and its a really peach nude so I gave it away. Also the coloured bit at the bottom pulls out to reveal a sharpner! I took it out by accident and found it, brilliant!

I have this one in praline. I still believe that this is the best lipliner out there that fits my skin tone and lipstick collection. But I accidentally dropped it once from a chin-height, the structure of the product is apparently very fragile. It starts screwing and unscrewing the outer plastic part instead of budging the product. And when i tried fixing the problem by taking out the bottom and pushing the product out, it went far too out and I couldn't push it back in. So lesson learnt, I'll buy tons more of these colors but treating them like queens :)

I'm not a fan of matte lip products, but, I'd been eyeballing Nars' matte lipsticks and can't afford them right now. I thought I'd give the E.L.F Matte Lip Color a try, as I grabbed this at 50% off and paid less than $3.00 for it.
I'm very pleased with this product, as, per the price, you're given a generous amount of product. I have "Rich Red" and it's a lovely, cool-tone red. I don't find this to be overtly drying as some matte lip products are.
I think for the price, this is superb value.

I love this stuff! I have a nude one and a coral one and both of the colors are gorgeous and flattering. They look good on their own and with lipgloss. Easy to apply. The only thing I would change is the packaging, because they can get a bit "wobbly" in the tube and it makes application a bit difficult and I worry that it's going to fall out.

I had this in tea rose, but the shade looked hideous on me so I threw it out. But I recently got a new, more wearable one in nearly nude! It's a really nice pinky nude and looks great on! This is matte but it didn't dry out my lips, unless I apply more on throughout the day to top up. However, you don't really need to re-apply because it lasts a long time on the lips. The formula is smooth and application is very easy! I haven't had any problems with the packaging either so I think that it's a great product overall!
