Bought the shampoo alone because my last experience with a Nexxus conditioner was horrible. Anyway the shampoo is not worth the money, it does nothing for my hair and my cheaper shampoos work a lot better. Makes my hair very dry and does not fix the split ends. And the bottle is annoying to squeeze the product out..

I have a love/hate relationship with this shampoo. Less than a handful of times my hair was shiny and looked super healthy and more than a handful of times it felt brittle, weighed down and this really weird greasy/waxy feeling.. I'm a clean freak so it made me feel super dirty. The smell is one of the upsides. It reminds me of pink sugar. I feel that the shampoo bottle design helps the company cheap out on the product. I will never buy this product again.

Was super excited to try this line out. I've grown my hair out for almost 2 years now and it's super duper long so of course there are split ends. I was hoping that this would be the cure. -_- no. For a shampoo it is way too thick, should be marketed as a conditioner! This product should not be used on the roots. It made my hair flat, greasy feeling and oil up faster than usual. Only way to style my hair is to blow dry, swhich is more heat, equaling more damage to my hair. I usually always air dry my hair and with other shampoos and conditioners, my hair is soft, volumous, and flowy after air drying. With this product, even after blow drying, it feels heavy, no volume. Not worth it and does not deliver. I say, save your money, and get a haircut and rid yourself of split ends that way instead.

More a review for whole Pro-Mend line. First time in my life my ends are swingy because of this product. I've got no theory as to why this line effects people so differently but for my particular kind of hair, it is a godsend. My hair is pretty fine/thinning, gets so STRINGY, straight, and could and would form dreadlocks if I didn't touch it for a week. I'm talking chronic split ends, not just at the bottom of my past-the-shoulder do. My scalp is pain-in-the-butt oily and I have to wash every 36 hours for clean looking hair. Anyway, I use the shampoo, conditioner, mouse, serum and leave-in treatment on heavy rotation, so I can't honestly isolate the effects of this shampoo alone. My friends tell me, for the first time ever, that my hair looks great. It's as if each hair is smooth and supple enough to actually slide against one another. Argan/moroccan oil and plenty of other "moisturizing" products exacerbate the stringiness. Blunt ends also help. LOVE these products.

OMG THIS IS THE WORRRRRRRRRST shampoo and conditioner EVER MADE. It made my hair feel so heavy, dry and straw like. It was so hard to style my hair after using it. OMG THIS PRODUCT SUCKS!!!!! I never write reviews, but I felt the need to on this product because its so bad.

I tried the whole Nexxus and Tresemme split end line around the same time, and neither worked. I have some very bad split ends and roughness at the tips of my hair. I was hoping to avoid having to get a cut because I am trying to grow my hair out. But really from what I have read online and beauty shows I have seen none of these split end shampoos, conditioners, or treatments work to mend split ends. From what I have gathered all these do is bind the split ends together temporarily, but it will never heal the split ends. Sadly only trims help with split ends.

My highlighted hair broke off after using this for a week. I had 1" long hair around my temples thanks to Nexxus. Once I quit using this, no more breakage.

I wanted to like this shampoo... actually, it's the best-smelling shampoo I've ever encountered, and I wanted to LOVE this shampoo. My hair is color-treated and highlighted, and as a result it's somewhat dry, but still in good condition. And I have a LOT of it. The shampoo lather was thick and foamy, but after rinsing it out my hair felt sticky and heavy. Even after applying the conditioner my hair felt heavy and it was hard to comb through. I usually let my hair air-dry, then use a flat iron or curling iron; however, I would NOT recommend air drying with this system. You get more bounce (albeit not much more) if you just blow dry it, but be careful - my hair didn't glide over the brush like it normally does. After styling it just felt heavy... it held the curl really well, but I had to really work with it to get some volume at the roots. I hate to pitch it out - at $9.99 a bottle (from Target), it wasn't the most expensive shampoo I've ever bought (that award goes to Wen!), so I've just taken to using it once a week. I alternate that with my usual TRESemme and it seems to be a little better. If your hair is damaged and quite brittle, I would say find this on sale and give it a whirl, but there are better products out there. Also, those slender-necked Nexxus bottles always look pretty, but the shampoo is so thick it's really hard to get out. Overall, pretty dang disappointed!

Definitely not. This shampoo is advertised to mend split ends, which made me skeptical, but it was recommended to me so I gave it a shot. What a disappointment. This made my fine, wavy hair into a coarse, matted mess that was impossible to detangle. I continued using it for a few weeks to see if anything would change, but it was just terrible. After a while, my hair started to feel like straw. That has never happened with any other shampoo. I was surprised at how bad this was on my hair, especially considering the price. I may have had a particularly bad experience, but I definitely wouldn't buy this again or recommend it to anyone, especially with fine hair.

I used to straighten and blow dry my hair pretty much on a daily basis. I was in a desperate search to find a shampoo and conditioner that would get rid of my split ends as much as possible. My aunt suggested Nexxus to me, so I decided to take her advice and buy the shampoo and conditioner. I'm glad I listened because it's now one of my favourite shampoos ever! My hair started feeling more and more healthier, thicker and stronger. It also smelt amazing and lathered well. I was sad when the bottle finally finished (it lasted quite a while by the way.) and I'm definetly going to buy some more as soon as possible

A few months ago, my hair went insane. Crazy tangles, dry, just basically gross. I slowly inched my way up the shampoo price ladder, from head&shoulders, to that organix stuff in the cute little bottles, but my sister started calling me "hermione granger" because it was getting so frizzy and tangled. Desperate, I went to ulta after work, and bought this, along with mop pear detangler, the pro-mend overnight treatment, and aveeno conditioner. I absolutely could not believe how much nicer my hair was the next morning. And it just kept getting better!!! It's shiny, it's silky, I don't fantasize about getting a pixie cut anymore! I think the overnight treatment helps seal the split ends, but I think this really helps clean my hair without causing any more damage, which is great because otherwise I would end up mending the same splits multiple times. The first time I used it it felt a teensy bit harsh, but it felt less harsh than anything else I tried for the the entire month previous. It's a little pricey , but if you like having long hair during winter, it's totally worth it to fix all those scarf Induced snarls.

The ONLY thing that helps split ends is a pair of scissors....I didn't like the scent of this and it left my hair feeling very very dry, so much so that I rewashed it and put in a deep conditioner for a couple of hours.

I just picked up my very own collection of the new Nexxus Pro-mend. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment just to give it a try. I have very bad split ends and haven't seen a change in length of my hair in a while so instead of cutting off what little I have as it is I decided to give this product a try. Over all I would give it a 5 for satisfaction; I seen a change in my hair as soon as I ran my fingers through it once i was out of the shower. It you have split ends and want to start growing your hair longer I would totally recommend this product. Your hair won't grow fast without healthy ends! It's not TOO expensive but still well-worth the price.

Best shampoo and conditioner I've ever used, and I've tried many: cheap, expensive, "cleansing conditioners", you name it..! My hair is fine, straight, and highlighted, and it tends to look a little dry around the ends between cuts. The very first time I used this I was blown away at how great my hair looked and how silky and manageable it was. It was even easier to style. I couldn't stop touching it! I'm so happy to have found this, and I fully recommend you try it if you have split ends or are trying to grow you hair longer.

So, when I first tried this, I loved it. My hair, which is processed, colored, dry and fragile, was silky and it arranged itself quite nicely if i let it air dry. My ends are always a bit frazzled looking, even though I get them chopped regularly. I started using this after I got a trim, and I feel like it helped keep them neat and tidy longer than they normally would be.
My hairdresser also commented that my ends were neater than they normally were, and I could hold off on a trim for another few weeks.
This lasted through the first two bottles. On my third bottle, (when I introduced an argan oil product into my regimen), it felt like there was still a lot of residue in my hair, even if I shampooed twice or even three times. My hair was pretty dull and always felt ever-so-slightly tacky (which is just gross) so I finally broke down and got a clarifying shampoo, which I desperately needed.
If you have dry hair in which you don't use a lot of oils or oily products I think this will work, and well. But it's such a mild shampoo, it can't handle much more than a day or two's natural buildup.
I liked this for a while, but I like what the argan oil does more, so I won't buy it again.

I tried a sample of this product, together with the conditioner. It didn't make my ends look fresh cut. What it did was make my hair super fluffy. I haven't been able to achieve lift from the crown like this since Redken killed their Glypro line. And I did it without gel, too. It lasted for several hours. The shampoo smells like milled soap, and the conditioner smells faintly of caramel. The shampoo is rather strongly scented, while the conditioner's fragrance is very mild. Somehow the two scents layer very nicely together to form a sweet melange. I'll definitely be trying this product line out again.

I have fine, dry hair that is full of split ends. This product left my hair feeling even drier and heavy with product. I definitely did not see an improvement in the looks of my split ends.

This product did not work for my hair. I have very fine/thin slightly wavy hair with lots of broken hairs/ flyaways. I don't really have split ends, so I'm not sure why I tried this. Probably because one of my friends who has long curly hair with split ends loves it. I think the scent is very strong and obnoxious/cheap smelling, but I was willing to put up with it if the product helped my hair. It did not. I really don't think it made my hair any better of worse.
