I hate to say that this product did nothing for me. I had such great expectations. I wanted to go cheaper than my beloved MAC's prep + prime and for the price i guess i got what i paid for. To begin with I felt that the "silky" feel it left was more on the ashy side and wasn't really pleased with it. The product takes for ever to sink in and I didn't feel any difference on my pores. As for the redness on my skin (I bought the green one) absolutely nothing. Lastly when I went on to apply my consealer I found that it really didn't stick. the consealer would wipe off my face as soon as I laid a finger on it and let's not talk about the look of my foundation over it. Overall I'm really not in love with this product. I'm getting rid of it and would never ever repurchase again nor would I recommend it. I'm sticking with MAC for the time being.

MUA, I have a confession: In testing this primer, I committed a makeup sin. I tried this out for the first time the night of prom without any prior research.
But before you all start lighting your torches and grabbing your pitchforks, can I redeem myself? I like this primer. A lot.
I was at Ulta and spied a tester of this. Pretty rare for Ulta to have testers, especially for a cheap brand like NYX, so I pounced. I loved the silky smooth feeling of it on my skin. Not only did my skin feel smoother, but it seemed to help the drier parts of my face while mattifying my oily t-zone and nose. Lately, with the weather getting warmer and my skin wreaking more havoc than usual, even my trusted primers have had trouble keeping me matte. I was sold. (It may have helped that there was a 40% off NYX at the time).
I put it on before doing my prom makeup and waited for it to absorb completely, then proceeded with everything else. I found my makeup went on a lot smoother and looked very nice. But would it last? I was a little hesitant. You see, I'm not one of those prom-goers who just sits there sipping water most of the night. I go all out. I dance like a maniac to every song. I was worried I would sweat my makeup off and there would be little this primer could do. I was planning on checking up throughout the dance, but didn't have a spare moment, so naturally I was quite nervous to see what was left.
But lo and behold, my makeup was still there.
Keep in mind, I had been dancing sweating, and hugging just about everyone within hugging distance. I would've understood my makeup attempting to make an escape. My t-zone did look a little shiny, but other than that, it had a fresh, dewy look which I love. Not the makeup-melting-off-like-the-wicked-witch-in-The-Wizard-of-Oz look.
If it can survive prom, it should be just fine for day to day wear.
I haven't had it long enough to see if my skin will break out, so I will be sure to update if it does. But until then, if I ever go dancing, this little guy is coming with me.

This primer is amazing. The best one I've used so far. Previously I had the Too Faced primed and poreless one but that one smelled odd and didn't go on evenly or make my face smooth, so I switched over to this one. It doesn't really have a scent, which I like, and a small amount goes a long way. When I apply it and smooth it out on my face, my face feels SO smooth and silky. When I put foundation over it, my foundation is creaseless, extremely smooth, and looks almost airbrushed. I love it and I use this primer pretty much everyday. It's also super cheap.

Great primer, lasts along time considering I use it everyday. I have naturally quite a bit of redness in my skin and this definitely covers it up. I plan on getting another one when I run out. :)

I bought this in the green formula, which is used to correct redness. I wanted something that was way cheaper than Smashbox but still effective in concealing the redness around my nose & cheeks. Unfortunately this was not it. Although this product is cheaper at $11 and acts as a decent primer underneath my foundation, it does nothing for the redness. All it does is leave a slippery silicone base so my foundation can be applied with minimal tugging. Other than that very basic function, it does little else. Also seems a little greasier than the Smashbox and takes a little longer to sink. Decent product but the green formula doesn't live up to my expectations.

To me, this is just like the Smashbox primer, but at half the cost! I bought the green primer because my skin is red all over. This paired with a foundation or concealer gives me a nice even skin tone. I also like how it feels very soft on my skin. I might try the clear one next time though.

I bought the green primer since I have red undertones and it's supposed to help with redness. I didn't use this all over my face, because it does feel a little heavy. I just patted a little bit of this over my cheeks where the redness is worse, and then I used a regular primer all over. If you are trying to find a way to get rid of redness this is great to use under another product, but I wouldn't recommend it for an everyday all-over primer.

I've never had a primer before, so I decided to go inexpensive and see if primer was something I liked. I chose to grab this primer one day on my way home from school. I have it in the clear shade, as I only have a little redness around my nose that a little foundation can solve. I quite like this primer. It makes my skin feel a lot softer and smoother. Because it smooths my skin out, applying foundation is a nicer experience. I was a little worried at first that the gel like primer would make my t-zone oiler than it already is, but it doesn't.
I don't think I'll repurchase though, as much as I love NYX, as I want to try some other primers.

This is a dupe of smashbox's primer. Smashbox's is my HG but its soooo expensive :( This is less than half the price and its still good! The silky finish I get is almost the same. Con is that I feel that I have to use more product to get an even spread across my face? I am asian & I bought this in lavender. Didn't see a difference in my complexion though. But this definitely keeps my skin pretty matte throughout the day (i get oily at my t-zone). Worth my every penny!

No redness control at all :( I was hoping this would be a dupe for MUFE's green primer and I was pretty disappointed. It IS good for filling in pores, but if I haven't exfoliated RIGHT before I use this is makes me look really scaley.

I have this in Green because I have redness on my cheeks. This primer looks like wasabi but when you blend it on the skin it goes on completely clear, so there's no redness concealing. It's rather thick but it's blendable and leaves a nice smooth finish. It does a good job controlling oil and it really makes makeup last and look good. Even though I don't find it particularly drying, I'd recommend that you make sure any dry patches (if you have them) are well moisturized before applying this, as it will probably make them look worst.
Overall a very nice product, simple but practical packaging, just don't expect the green to cancel out redness.
UPDATE 10-3-11: I took down one lippie because this turned out to be underwhelming to the point I often forget I have it. And I can't use this unless my skin is having a great day, otherwise it makes my skin look dehydrated and dull.

I must say right off the bat that if yu have dry skin this primer is not for you because it dries down to a soft matte texture. I have combination skin and its more dry comes winter so its not something i can use right now but come summer time its going to be of some use its a clear gel in a tube but its a bit pricey close to 12 bucks for 1,01 fluid ounce

I'm reviewing the green primer.
I got this in green because I have redness on my face that I wanna hide. I normally wear a primer and a green corrector so I thought that with this primer, I could combine those steps. But even though the primer looks green in the bottle, it looks clear once you spread it on your face. I don't think it really hides the redness at all. The primer itself is decent. It does the job but feels a bit drying on my skin. Not repurchasing, there are better primers out there.

I normally love NYX, but this broke me out. Had to stop using after 3 days. I usually use clinique pore minimizer or cargo primer. I think the primers that are thick and clear tend to let your face breathe less.

11/6/11 update- I stopped using this. It didn't seem to cover my large pores or give my face a glow. It's a good base for applying foundation over but I like using my BB creams on just my skin alone.
