I brought this through the internet for around £42 including shipping,I didn't mind paying more than the usual price of a Guerlain foundation as I was desperate to try shade Beige Pale 01,an asia exclusive shade. I had previously used Guerlain foundations available here in Europe in shade Beige Clair 02 which is quite dark for fair skintones and what's more the formula I was using the most (Lingerie De Peau) would oxidize really bad on me. Pearly White is a line of products from Guerlain that offer whitening, brightening and perfecting properties and is marketed towards the Asian population (due to the fact that many Asian women are obsessed with getting that creamy white skin,to many Asian women, fair skin is a very beautiful thing which is so strange as the Western culture is so obsessed with look bronzed!) As a very fair russian girl shade Beige Pale is the perfect match for my skin tone and. This formula is not as sheer as many reviewers on the internet have said,I find this formula has a very buildable coverage and two pumps gives me a flawless look. My only issue with this foundation is its high alcohol content, you can smell it and id imagine it would be a nightmare for more sensitive skin types. I apply this with my fingers,it sets very quickly to a soft matte finish and therefore it is best to apply on top of a good primer (I use Guerlain Meteorites Primer) Thankfully this does not whiten my skintone at all but it does give that gorgeous bright angel skin which I love. A real luxury!

Parure Pearly White Brightening Fluid Foundation - SPF 15
(in the Silver bottle) -
** Guerlain's OTHER foundation winner ~ (Guerlain Luminous Extreme Wear Fluid Foundation, SPF 25 - in the GOLD bottle) is such a top-notch foundation that it's become my All-Star foundation, my own particular Alpha & Omega.
So when I was travelling in Asia recently, I saw this sister version made exclusively for the fairness-obsessed Asian market and decided to try it because it promised an extreme matte look. My friends there were saying it sells like the proverbial hotcakes. Guerlain must know their target demographic extremely well indeed to name a product "Pearly White" on the bottle and know it will sell! (Can you imagine that happening in our tetchy PC culture?)
- Unlike the other Parure lines that offer nine shade selections, this line has only 5 colours to choose from. Even online, the shades shown are woefully inaccurate. The 5 shades are:
1. # 02 - Beige Clair
2. # 33 - Amber Natural
3. # 03 - Beige Natural
4 # 31 - Ambre Pale
5. # 12 - Rose Clair
03- Beige Natural wasn't available so I purchased Ambre Pale - #31. I had fun reading the usual over-blown literature inside (you know, the ones that promise you the Sun, Moon & Stars combined), and here's what I've concluded:
~ This sets up in a nano second so you must blend QUICKLY.
~ ...AND ACCURATELY. It will stay where you leave it. Become Blenderella and blend, blend and blend some more.
~ I didn't notice any 'pearliness' to speak of but it really is super-matte. In a good way. There's no chalkiness at all.
~ This would work for you if you have naturally flawless skin that just needed an extra polish. On my skin the coverage was minimal which is not a bad thing.
~ One pump covers an entire face. I did not get the dreaded whitish cast but it did show up every dry spot around my nose and mouth. It does make your skin look even-textured all over.
~ This would be a ideal foundation for Summer's hottest days.
~ It does not work for me as a foundation anytime else, however. It DOES make a wonderful Primer, of all things. And that's what I'll be using it for.
~ Unlike Parure Extreme's SPF 25 rating, this is an SPF 15.
So there it is. I've got a new Primer and Midsummer foundation.
