This was something I purchased today on a whim. I've been wanting to try these lip balms for awhile. Honestly the darker colors scared me off, so I went for this one and another in Grenache. Turns out from the reviews here, the darker colors are better because they're sheer but do have the hint of tint we crave. The first thing I noticed when I first applied this is the frost. Oh my gosh the frost! Think 60s actress and/or first high school makeup experiment. Clearly not my look and not something I'm willing to suffer with, especially at work. I'd be embarrassed to wear this for fear of getting laughed at. "What's that girl think she's DOING?! How old is she?!" The formula is moisturizing, but nothing amazing. It is flavorless save for a bit of the usual lipstick taste, which is no biggie.I will be attempting a return on this today. I do love Cover Girl, but seriously, what were they thinking?

I bought this product with high expectations because in the past I've really enjoyed CG's lip balms. They've had nice color & are very moisturizing.
However, the packaging is horrible because they aren't sealed & the sparkle is scratchy to the lips & completely unmoisturizing.
Big dud CG.

I don't normally buy DS stuff, but I picked this up on a whim at Walgreens, I'd seen the ads..and well, you know, I chose Clay. Based on the name, I was hoping for more of a toffee/sand color as opposed to a pink. Wrong. This is a super frosty sheer pink. In low light, it doesn't look half bad...makes the lips look moisturized and not sticky or goopy. Being a balm is also a plus. But in bright light, this really bombed out. It's full on frost. OK if that's the look you want, but on me it looked silly. Even though the lippie itself is sheer, which I could have lived with, I can't live with the metallic frost. At almost $8 at Walgreens-its highway robbery. If you need something of this sort, for about the same price, Burts Bees tinted lip balm is a better buy IMO.

The color looks pretty in the tube...a pinky nude with a little shimmer. Once applied, it's a whole different story. It isn't just shimmery, it's full on frosty. Also, the taste is just horrid. It tastes & smells like well, clay. I don't find that it moisturizes for very long either. Definitely won't repurchase.

This is a review for Natureluxe Gloss Balm in Anenome. Cover Girl gloss balms should not be overlooked! They are a little pricey for drug store makeup but the quality is good, because it's Cover Girl, and it is a very nice new lip product. They are called "gloss balms" because they are very moisturizing but deliver a nice punch of color with a bit of gloss. The shades look darker in the tubes than they look on the lips. The Anenome was sent to me in a Bzz Campaign and it is not one I would have chosen for myself, however I am so glad I gave this shade a try. This is a clear, bright coral/melon color--I guess the color of anenomes in the wild. It leaves a tint on my lips similar to if I had been eating strawberries or an orange popsicle--fresh and pretty. If I were judging by the color in the tube, I would not buy this color but it looks absolutely beautiful and summery when applied to clean lips. This shade would flatter all kinds of skin tones, healthy pale or tan. I just can't say enough about how pretty this gloss balm is and it leaves my lips soft and smooth. I also have this in Clove which I bought before I received anenome, but that's another review. As a Bzz Agent I have not been paid to review this product.

Ok for summer, easy to apply on the run. Wears off quick. Not happy with price of $7 at CVS.

I got this yesterday at Walgreens - they are buy 1 get 1 50% off, so I figured I could try a few. I got this one and Grenache. This color is a frosty pink-nude. This is far more frosty than I would like in a lip balm. I'm not loving the scent of these. I have a sensitive sniffer and find that these smell a little plastic-y. The consistency and feel of these is a lot like your basic tinted balm. I didn't find these to be smudgey - like when you put on a balm and all of a sudden you look like one of those kids (or adults...*blushes*) who drank kool-aid and forgot to wipe their mouths. These are around $7.50 at Walgreens. I believe that there may be way better tinted lip balms for less than or the same price as these. I'm going to be exchanging this one for Marble.

Just for reference: I'm an NC20 whose HG everyday lipstick is Revlon Colorburst in Blush. I picked up this CG "gloss balm" in #260 Clay because it appears to run in the same nudy pink frost color family as Blush, and the promises of lip-loving ingredients and spf 15 is what really sold me. Ok so let me get the bad out first. I am not a big fan of the scent. This smells the way lipsticks used to in the '90s - a faint playdough fragrance that lingers for a while after you apply it. But it's not unbearable and kind of grows on you, and I'm sure some ladies will actually actually like this scent. Nostalgic much? Other than that, the texture and pigmentation of this product is fantastic. If you're looking for a very sheer wash of color and shimmery lip-enhancing finish with spf that feels like a hydrating treatment, this is it! Slightly frosty finishes are my favorite because it gives the appearance of moist, plump lips, without the gooeyness of gloss. Just be sure not to layer this on heavily or else it can wash you out because the frost trumps the pigment. I already have a feeling I'll be reaching for this quite often though. It feels amazing. Very smooth and hydrating and it doesn't make the lips peel! The packaging is cute too, and seems to go along with the global "Green" trend at the moment. "Luxury touched by nature." Sure, whatever you say CG, I like it.
