I found this highlighter to be very similar to By Candlelight. The differences are extremely subtle, and when swatched, I can see a little more of a pink undertone in By Candlelight. On my skintone (NC35), it is hard for me to see a difference. I think the Rose Ole finish is slightly more subtle or natural, which makes it more appealing to me. I do not find it shimmery at all like Soft and Gentle (which I also like for a more dramatic highlight effect). Overall, I like this special reserve highlighter (as well as the Chez Chez Lame, which is more golden).

I know it's a highlight powder...but I'm a little dissappointed. I love the peachy-pink color but by the time I get the color i was looking for to show up on my cheeks i looked a wee bit too sparkley. I wish it was a satin blush. Alas I sent mine back because it was more sparkle than sheen. Probably be nice on someone with fair skin! I'm a medium beige in BE.

What a waste of money. I really looked at swatches of this before buying and it is so pale and pearly that is looks ghastly on my NC30-35 skin. Going back as soon as possible! Hate it -- yep -- hate it!

Beautiful!!! This is the best Highlighter I have ever tried. My sister and I both purchased it and we both love it!! It is perfect in every way. It deposits the right amount on your brush so you won't over do it. I believe even if you did apply this about 5 times or more, it still would be pretty. It is a soft champagne/light pink. I love how it looks like a ruffeled up silk bed sheet in the pan. I didn't buy a back up, because this will last probably about 5 years. If it came back around in another collection like 3 years later, I would definitely buy this again. This is probably the ONLY highlighter that I feel that "LOOK" like it was applied right. Most highlighters are pretty on me, but then I raise a question about it looking right, either it's too much shimmer or overly pigmented or too much base color. This is a hot product that I think EVERYONE should try especially us AA Women!
P.S. I know it's nerve wrecking that Mac keeps coming with LE like every week, but this is well worth it.
