Memento is a nice soft pink with a twinge of brown and one of the tamer shades OCC has. Lip tars are definitely a love them or hate them product. I think the formula is phenomenal and like that a longwearing color can be so light to apply. The color payoff is completely opaque and this shade dries to a color that's a bit lighter than how it looks in the tube. I haven't had any issues with feathering, but I do apply the tiniest amount and build up from there. I do think OCC should come out with a lip liner though, as feathering seems to happen to a lot of people. I took off one lippie because I still don't think the packaging is all that great. A product this saturated and thin might benefit from being in packaging that had a pump mechanism or something similar to prevent leaks.

Definitely not what I was expecting. I thought it would be a thick lip colour. When I first opened it, it appeared to have separated a little. I had to squeeze out some clear, milky-ish liquid before the colour started coming out. So far, the colour itself is extremely runny. Not something you'd think something called a "tar" would be like.
The colour itself is nice, but I'm not a fan of the formula. Even applying the teeniest amount possible on exfoliated and moisturized lips, it managed to find "dry" patches I didn't even know existed. The only good thing about the application for me is I didn't experience feathering, but I don't have any fine lines around my mouth. I can see where this might be a problem for some people, as the formula is SO thin.
The colour lasted on my lips *maybe* 5 minutes. With no eating or drinking. All the while, my lips were beyond dry, something I don't normally have a problem with. When the colour wore off, there was no stain, and my lips were so, so, so dry. Apparently buying the clear lip tar and using that as a base helps this, but if you need to use two products together for it to work, they should be sold together as one item. I'm not spending another $25 to fix something that should work on its own.
The packaging, for a product this runny, is miserable. if you don't keep the tube exactly right side up, the product leaks out. It gets all over the inside of the cap. Another reason I thought the product would be much thicker. Why would you use a squeeze tube for a product this runny?
For application, you either need to use a brush, or get your finger covered in goop, meaning it's not great for applying on the go.
Other than the actual colour itself, I really can't find anything about this I like. Based on this one, I will definitely NOT be buying anymore of these, and I truly don't understand the hype. Unless I got a bad tube, this is definitely one of the worst lip products I have ever used, and that's including products from the dollar store.

very pigmented but you need some sorta base under it for the texture to look nice...primer or i use the revlon just bitten lipstain in romantic and they look awesome together...if you use it directly on your lips it looks baaad all cracked up and dry

this is a-ok. it's pretty true to colour. It's almost like a dusty pink rosey shade.
OCC lip tars are vibrant at first application but are pretty drying and don't last as long as some matte lipsticks I own.
I should have tried another shade.

So, never heard of this until I went to sephora. Ran across it and thought it was a cool concept. If you're looking for a lip color that will stay on all night, then this is it. It will stain your fingers if u apply it like that, but it does come with a little brush to apply. They say a tiny little dab pure use, and that's exactly what they mean. A TINY dab is all u need. When I woke up the next morning, my lips were still stained and I wiped most of it off the night before. It never rubbed off on my pillow either. I'm going back to get more colors. Asap

Make up artist used this on me for my wedding. I don't like it on its own but I find if I mix a little on the back of my hand with one of my MAC lipgloss (partial to pink ifs my fav) then it is gorgeous and lasts all day!
Mixing it also softens the color. Is drying on its own. Need to apply with a brush and only need the tiniest amount

Memento swatched beautifully on my hand, but looked terrible and zombie-like on my lips. It really washed me out (I have medium/light skin, green eyes, and dark brown hair). My local Sephora only carried four colors, so I ended up getting NSFW, a color that looked very dark in the container, but looks nice on. This is my first lip tar and I like the application and look. Most of my red lipsticks are matte, so the creamy consistency of this one is great. The only drawback I can see so far is that lip tars are prone to feathering.

I tend to not write reviews for products that I dislike or that don't work for me because I either get rid of them right away and forget about them quickly, and because I'm much more excited to review things I actually love. But I just bought three OCC lip tars and I was disappointed with all of them. I chose the colors based on swatches and reviews and while I liked one of the colors, the formulas are a let down. This color is odd and looked awful on my skin tone. It's a medium pink with an orange undertone and a cream finish. I was surprised at just how orange it is, and not in a peachy or sunny, warm toned type of way. Very thin consistency that's difficult to apply without it getting outside the natural lip line, especially with the little brush that's included. If I leave it as a thin layer it slips all over my lip and settles on the outer areas; if I dab it off and leave it as more of a lip stain it just looks terrible and flat so there's no grey areas to work with it. Plus I didn't find anything special or great about the color where I'd want to try it out with a gloss, balm, etc. to try and make it look better.
Packaging is annoying given that it's hard to control how much product comes out, and it gets all over the tip and inside the lid unless I wipe it off each time I use it, which is difficult if I'm out somewhere and don't have tissues handy. Leaks as well. There's a generous amount of product in the tube given how little is actually needed but I'd rather they make a package that's designed to distribute the product more cleanly and with less leaking.
It seems to have a long wear length, about as good as a long wearing lipstick but it was so drying that it's impossible to wear alone without a lip balm or gloss on top. Looks drying and flat as well. Not flattering in finish or color. When it's worn in about the same thickness or layer as a lipstick it looks like I dabbed a flat foundation all over my lips. I like the minty scent and the natural ingredients but I don't understand the hype behind these lip tars. For me these just didn't work and I'm returning them to Sephora.

I got a small sample of one of these, like, didn't even cover the bottom of the jar sample. At first I was like 'wow, how generous...' But once I dipped my brush in to apply it, I didn't even have to dip it in a second time. One tiny bit filled my lips completely! Even better, after it dried down, it lasted through an 8 hour work shift, with zero feathering (no lip liner either!) zero fading, and zero splotching. They're really a hassle-free lip product. I've fallen in love, and will soon purchase (hopef

I love the OCC Lip Tars! Everything about them! You need to apply with a brush but they're very easy to get right. The liquid texture which dries to a matte finish is lovely. They last longer than most lipsticks too. This color is the most wearable in my collection. A peachy / pinky / hint of nude matte shade. Feathering can occur with the tars, but with this one it's minimal since the colour isn't too bold.

I just got this yesterday and was dying to try them. First of all, I put this on my lips and it made them look horribly dry with flakes. It's mid-July here and the weather is hot and humid. Normally I don't have a problem with dry lips, even in the Midwest winters, but this stuff is more drying than any lip product I've ever used. So I exfoliated, and put come Cetaphil cream on the outside of my lips and that helped get them into shape, but the product didn't last long. Perhaps I didn't use enough. Anyways I put this on clean lips, used a bit more product, and it has lasted a bit longer but over all I'm not impressed. It sucks all the moisture from your lips and that's not attractive. There's a difference between a matte lipstick and get that poor woman some chapstick. I'm going to have to put something over the top to make this work, which will make it no different than any standard lipstick and won't have to deal with all this exfoliating and using lip balm in the middle of July.
The color is okay. It's like a MLBB with a pink to it.

This is my first OCC lip tar and i LOVE it! I have to start out by saying, i have found myself not wearing any lip products over the past few years because i have never loved lipsticks due to their drying quality if they have any sort of lasting power and i got tired of wasting my money on lipgloss that only last 15 minutes. I have been reading tons of hype about lip tars and a couple weeks ago i stumbled upon a discount code so i decided to finally give one a try. I searched online for all the pictures i could find of the various colors show on peoples lips. I finally selected memento based on reviews of the color and my skin tone. I have to say memento is definitely more coral than i expected but i love it for a summer color, it is by no means a "shocking" color like some of the others in the lip tar line up are. Its a great everyday color and the best part about it is it applies perfectly and gives me the great coverage of a lipstick but the comfort of a gloss. Memento does not have a glossy finish, its more satin, but could easily be topped with clear gloss to give it some shine. I have not experienced any extreme dryness to my lips, though it does dry down to where it feels like i have no product on my lips, and it is not even close to as drying as a long lasting lipstick. Overall i am really pleased with this product and will be recommending lip tars to friends and family, i cant wait to try some of the other fun colors!

After the hype I bought this and LOVED it. Went on like gloss and dried like a lipstick with a nice, bright colour true to the tube!!
Only thing I didn't like was the smell and taste but the pay off is worth it esp as I love Mac lipglosses but they literally stay on for 10 mins max!!
After using this for a while it dried out my lips :(

OK. I bought in to the hype. I think I should have my credit card taken away from me for this one. Memento is touted as their most natural and universally flattering nudish pink shade which pulled up a very interesting light orangish pink that was just nasty looking with my skin tone and the consistency/dry down was not much better. Perhaps if I had a need for the blue or yellow shades in this line, or if I simply wanted a set to play mix and match with colors, or perhaps not as the long wear claim did not pan out here regardless. For me, this was a no.
